What is our primary use case?
I have been using Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training for the last three years. We use Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training to deliver monthly security training or phishing simulations to employees. A specific example is a phishing test to identify users who were more likely to click a suspicious link, then automatically assign a targeted training to help them recognize and report the phishing attempt in the future.
It fits into our workflow because the training and phishing simulations are largely automated, requiring minimal administrator effort while helping maintain ongoing security awareness across the organization. It integrates seamlessly with our security workflow. The combination of automated training, phishing simulations, and reporting helps us maintain a strong security culture without creating a significant administrative burden for our IT and security team.
The automated phishing simulation has increased engagement by giving employees practical, real-world opportunities to identify suspicious emails rather than relying solely on the training content. The targeted follow-up training helps to reinforce the lessons immediately after a mistake is made, which has improved retention and awareness. Over time, we have seen employees become more cautious with unexpected emails and more proactive about reporting potential phishing attempts.
Our experience with the lightweight LMS has been positive overall. Creating and uploading custom training is straightforward, and the interface makes it easy to organize and assign materials to users. While it may not have all the advanced features of a dedicated enterprise LMS, it provides the flexibility we need to supplement Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training's built-in training with organization-specific content. Simplicity and ease of administration are among its best strengths.
Assigning behavior-based tasks has been relatively easy. The platform helps to identify risky behaviors, such as interacting with a phishing simulation, and it is straightforward to assign tasks for follow-up training. The process is largely automated, which reduces administrative effort and ensures users receive relevant training at the right time. This has made it easy to address specific risk areas without requiring extensive manual intervention from our team.
What is most valuable?
Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training is used because its day-to-day value is less about the training itself but more about maintaining consistent employee engagement, tracking the completion rate, identifying users who may need additional coaching, and reducing the likelihood of a successful phishing attack. It is not only a security awareness tool. They have an updated package about the trainings, about the module, and they give you a simulated environment where users can really get a feel for how an actual attack looks. It is not only a video-related training where you have to go through the video, watch the video, and that is it. It is not an annual training. Time to time, we identify the users, and that gives us a simulated phishing attack environment so that in a real attack scenario, they can be aware.
A specific example is a phishing test to identify users who were more likely to click a suspicious link, then automatically assign a targeted training to help them recognize and report the phishing attempt in the future. It is not only a normal training. This training gives you up-to-date content, a real-life environment, and that is fully controlled by Huntress. You do not need to do the content creation and all those things. Those will all be taken care of by Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training.
There are many features, but the simulated simulation environment stands out the most. The features which stand out the most are the automated phishing simulation and targeted follow-up training. The short, engaging training content helps to improve participation, while the reporting and risk insights make it easy to track progress and identify users who may need additional coaching. The managed approach is especially valuable because it reduces the administrative workload required to keep the program running constantly.
What needs improvement?
Overall, we are satisfied with the platform, but there are a few areas that could be improved. More customization options for the training campaigns and phishing simulations would be helpful, as would additional reporting analytics to better track long-term trends in user progress. It would also be valuable to have more role-specific training content tailored to different departments or risk profiles.
The platform is easy to use and effective as it is, so the suggestions are more about adding flexibility and deeper insight, rather than addressing major shortcomings. Enhanced customization, more reporting, and additional specialized training content would make an already strong solution even better.
The features that need to be added would be for flexibility, not addressing major shortcomings.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working in my current field for 10 plus years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training is a scalable product. Currently, we are using it for phishing simulations and a few other examples, but we can add more for other products also. It is quite a scalable product.
How are customer service and support?
Customer support is quite good. We have a dedicated support team we can call. They are very supportive for creating new things and whenever we have an issue. I would give them a 10 out of 10 rating for customer support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We were using the native Microsoft phishing simulation. We switched because of Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training's convenient, real-case simulations, automation, reduced administrative overhead, plus just-in-time training. That is the reason we switched to Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training. We have switched directly to Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training.
How was the initial setup?
Our experience was positive. The licensing model was straightforward and easy to understand, and the implementation process was smooth with minimal setup effort.
What was our ROI?
I would say it is a cost-effective solution. Our experience was positive. The licensing model was straightforward and easy to understand, and the implementation process was smooth with minimal setup effort. From a value perspective, the combination of managed training, phishing simulation, and automated administration made it a worthwhile investment and helped reduce the internal resources required for our security awareness.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
If you are looking to reduce the overhead on IT and want a customized solution that is up-to-date with market standards and gives a real-time phishing simulation scenario to end users, Huntress Managed Security Awareness Training is one of the best solutions.
What other advice do I have?
We have seen the phishing report count has increased. Earlier, fewer people were reporting phishing links, but now they are very cautious. The reporting of phishing attempts has increased. It cannot be measured on quantity, but we have seen that awareness has truly increased among the user base.
The memorable, story-driven episodes are effective at changing user behavior because they present security concepts in a realistic, relatable way, rather than as a purely technical lesson. Employees are more to remember the key takeaways and apply them to their day-to-day work. For example, after training focused on phishing and social engineering, users become more cautious about unexpected emails, suspicious links, and requests for sensitive information.
A good example is when an employee clicks a link during a phishing simulation. Instead of just pointing it out, the platform immediately provides training that explains the warning signs that were missed and how to identify similar threats in the future. This just-in-time approach makes the lesson more relevant because it is tied directly to a recent action, reducing the likelihood of the same mistake being repeated.
I would rate this product 9 out of 10 based on my overall experience.
