What is our primary use case?
Our company uses the solution for business intelligence and reporting.
We have all Oracle products and single identity access management for our OUD and ERP applications. We recently upgraded from Oracle Business Intelligence to Oracle Analytics Server.
We are design specialists for ODA and business intelligence. Customers care about reports, design, models, and data from different sources. We take care of everything for customers including integrations or issues.
For example, we handle report issues such as weird fonts, missing columns, and memory issues where customers cannot generate reports. When customers alert us, we open cases with Oracle and download logs or configurations so the support team can help us to resolve issues.
We have 600 users who connect to our application to see their reports. All of our reports are integrated with our single sign-on application. A customer gives us their requirements and we grant them access to their custom report only.
We run the solution on-premises. We don't have a cloud infrastructure but our servers have a special VM cloud. In the future, we might bring in Oracle cloud.
What is most valuable?
The configuration, customization, and migration are very good.
It is easy to maintain the patch level for security and vulnerabilities.

What needs improvement?
The dashboard could be improved and include additional features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for seven years. In my current company, I have been using the solution for two years.

How are customer service and support?
Technical support assists us all the time and has a good response time depending on the case or severity.
For a severe issue, support helps us a lot and continues to coordinate until our issue is resolved. Severe issues are ranked as a three or four technical level.
Responses depend on the technical level, the questions asked, and what we discuss regarding the issue. The support person you get plays a role but overall the support team is excellent.
Support is rated a eight out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We use all Oracle products. We recently upgraded from Oracle Business Intelligence to Oracle Analytics Server.
How was the initial setup?
The solution is easy to set up so I rate it an eight out of ten.
What about the implementation team?
We help customers with implementations and have two methods.
For in place, we upgrade the repository and then upgrade the product binaries.
For out place, we create a new setup, deploy the bar files, take the backup, and return it in the bar files.
Depending on the package, deployments take three to four hours for on-premises and thirty minutes for the cloud. During installation, some OS level packages are required. If all binaries are in your hand, you can complete the business intelligency deployment which includes all integration, security, SSL certificates with configurations, and any custom certificates. We also set parameters during configuration. This might take some time because the business intelligency takes five to ten minutes to start or restart the server and any services.
During deployment or as a part of ongoing maintenance, we apply security-level and bundle patches for customers.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution's pricing is reasonable compared to other products.
We have all Oracle products at the hardware and software levels. The solution is less expensive for us because it is provided as part of our bundle.
The cost might be high if you have different products, vendors, or applications for your hardware or software.
Pricing is rated a seven out of ten.
