SAS Activity-Based Management Reviews Summary
Author infoRatingReview Summary
CEO at a financial services firm with 1-10 employees2.0This solution helps me compare production costs, but its data integration is complex, visualization is poor, and setup was difficult. Technical support is low, and I recommend CostPerform instead.
Data Scientist at a financial services firm with 10,001+ employees1.5I found this software useful for specific accounting projects, helping clarify true costs. But, its poor interface, difficult installation, and limited vendor support make it challenging, requiring substantial IT resources to deploy.
Optimization Consultant with 1,001-5,000 employees3.0I value its complex Activity Based Cost calculation ability. However, usability is poor, with illogical constraints and stability issues like reboots. We're considering programming its calculation function into SQL Server.
Manager with 1,001-5,000 employees2.5I find cube generation valuable, but this solution needs simplification and transparency as it often feels like a black box. I've experienced stability and scalability issues, although customer and technical support are good.
Performance Management/VP at a financial services firm with 501-1,000 employees3.5I found SAS ABM/EG valuable for expense allocation and ETL, appreciating its traceability. However, I experienced performance issues with large data, IT security conflicts, and miss the OLAP drilling feature. Customer service was mixed.

Helps to compare production costs across different departments. Try CostPerform from QPR.

It helped determine the organization's true cost of providing its products but there were deployment problems because the installation was extremely difficult.

ABM is able to calculate how costs are split and added. However, changes in the model were not easy as some user constraints were not logical.

It could be made much more simpler. Most of the time it looks like a black box for developers.

OLAP data extraction and export is a valuable feature but the drilling function needs to be brought back.
