What is our primary use case?
ABBYY Timeline is a very user-friendly and intuitive tool - even for people who are new to process mining, as the software has a simple interface that makes it easier to work with even for non-technical users.
The software provides various tools/features such as process maps, activity charts, performance charts, and reports that help users to analyze various business processes, monitor the process flow in real time, and identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
As a process mining platform, Timeline is a highly flexible and configurable solution that can meet various needs (support, operations, customer experience, compliance, etc,) for organizations of all sizes.
We use the tool to visualize and monitor our support departments' process workflows, to understand better operational processes and ways we can continuously improve them.
Other areas we are planning to use Timeline mining tools for include invoice processing, vendor management, improve compliance & risk management, and improved customer service.
How has it helped my organization?
ABBYY Timeline provides various reports and charts that help us identify areas for improvement and optimize our business processes. The software provides a visual representation of the process, making it easier for users to understand and analyze it.
We like the pre-built reports that can be used out-of-the-box or customized to fit various scenarios. The software provides real-time updates, which makes it possible to respond quickly to changes in the process and make necessary adjustments. The fact that we don't need to waste time and guess what's going on is a huge advantage.
Timeline reports/dashboards are very helpful for larger organizations to see how process optimization leads to actual savings or additional revenue generation. The process simulation tool helps to create a digital twin of the processes in which you can change one variable and see what happens if you make the change in real-life scenarios.

The process flow/diagram is the most valuable feature, as it offers a helpful visual simulation that allows users to see what's happening in the grand scheme of things and then drill down into specific tasks and processes to see where the bottlenecks are.

What needs improvement?
Integration with our system wasn't available out of the box. We built a custom solution that required some back and forth with the ABBYY team. Many popular ERP and CRMs are already offered out of the box, which is a huge plus for enterprises.
There are a couple of new features available in Timeline that still need more time to mature. Overall, we found the platform capable of addressing more than 90% of what our team and our client's operations team need to start their process mining journeys.
