I put Aruba ClearPass like role-based segmentation to separate a user who is from a domain, from a domain computer, from mobile devices or a laptop or smart devices. I also separate Zebra because the customer works with Zebra.

Role-based segmentation helps because I need to separate users from a domain and with the domain computer, and users from the domain without a domain computer. I also work with smart devices and put a baseline in place. Depending on the baseline, for example, which operating system, they can have access to the particular network segment.

The effectiveness of Aruba ClearPass depends on what the customer decided to use it for and what level of security they wanted. Role-based segmentation is quite enough, but it is not 100% security. You must have other products. For example, you must encrypt data. But for authentication and authorization, I believe Aruba ClearPass is the best, and I believe that it is a top product currently on the market.

I appreciate that you have all in one place with Aruba ClearPass. I like Central where you can manage all devices, switches, access points, and of course, gateways. In Aruba ClearPass, you can have control of all authentication in the company.

I work with Endpoint Profiling in Aruba ClearPass. It works well with authentication methods and conditional access policies. I have not received any complaints about that.

They could simplify the GUI in Aruba ClearPass and reorganize it. At the beginning, when you do not know Aruba ClearPass at all, it would be a problem. However, now I know everything and can handle all the tasks that I need to manage.

I have been working with Aruba ClearPass for approximately four years.

For now, I am satisfied with the functionality of Aruba ClearPass. We have had a few issues, but Aruba support successfully solved them.

I installed Aruba ClearPass three years ago and I have not had any downtime. I have experienced more than three years without zero downtime with Aruba ClearPass.

In scalability for Aruba ClearPass, I cannot discuss much because we are a small country. The customer, at the beginning, decided to have some services from Aruba ClearPass and did not change it at all.

I would rate the technical support from Aruba as a ten out of ten.

I do not work for Aruba anymore as I started to work a year and a half ago with one of the mobile com providers. I am mostly dealing with Fortinet, which comprises 80% of my work and Aruba comprises 20% of my work. I work with Aruba Central and Access Point and Aruba ClearPass.

Base installation for Aruba ClearPass is simple.

I do not know who the main competitor for Aruba ClearPass is.

I do not know about the functionality of Aruba ClearPass integration with a third party. If you ask me if there is support for Zebra and for different IoT devices, they have it. However, I do not know how to describe integration with other products. Aruba ClearPass can act as a RADIUS server and it can connect to the domain RADIUS server, for example.

The biggest problem is when a customer does not know what they want with Aruba ClearPass.

I can recommend Aruba ClearPass to other users because it is very stable. My review rating for this product is ten out of ten.

I am committed to Aruba ClearPass and use Aruba Networks wireless personally as well. We use Aruba ClearPass endpoint profiling feature. For instance, if someone does MAC spoofing, Aruba ClearPass can still identify that it is not the actual network device, user, or machine that requires access and is not the one intended to get the access.

For future updates of Aruba ClearPass, I would like to see improvements to the GUI, and adding wizards for specific tasks would be helpful.

I have been working with Aruba ClearPass for several years, approximately six to seven years.

Aruba ClearPass is usually the on-premises version, but it can be in the cloud as well. However, there are limitations on round trip time. It does not have to be on-site; when I say cloud, it can be in a cloud or in a service provider environment, but it does not have to be on-premises. However, there are disadvantages when it is not on-premises, as every NAC suffers from it if it is not on-premises.

This is not an Aruba ClearPass issue; it is any access control which is not on-premises that will have this issue.

I cannot rate the technical support of Aruba from one to ten because I do not use them often. The group that deals with Aruba ClearPass is very responsive because Aruba ClearPass is very critical for an organization. If Aruba ClearPass is not working, then the organization is not working because this is the access control in the organization.

I know that it is always twenty-four hour, seven day support for Aruba ClearPass, and usually the people on call are skilled. I cannot rate it from one to ten because I was not in a position to verify it, but my information is that people are happy with the support.

Regarding price, I think that we are competitive. I have managed to transfer many customers from different NACs to Aruba ClearPass, even though they already had NAC implemented that was not Aruba ClearPass, because the service fee was much more expensive than buying Aruba ClearPass.

I am not the person who uses it daily, but I have been selling it for six to seven years and am familiar with it and the internals. I am not doing any installations of Aruba ClearPass. We do have a team who does deployment and installation. One person can do the deployment of Aruba ClearPass. One person who is familiar with it can do it because Aruba ClearPass has many features and capabilities, and in order to use them all or if you want to use all the features and capabilities, you need to be highly trained.

The deployment time depends on the complexity and the number of rules that you want to implement for Aruba ClearPass deployment. I cannot say how long it will take because it depends on the complexity of the rules that you want to implement and the different types of equipment that you are going to interface with. If all the network elements are the same, it removes complexity, but if you have twenty different network elements that you have to interface with and control, then the complexity level is higher.

This is the same with every NAC. There are published integrations and APIs with third-party security devices, and you can find them on HPE Aruba sites where they are advertised. Aruba ClearPass is the Policy Manager, and it does not come separately; it is an integral part of it. I would rate this review nine out of ten.

My use case for Aruba ClearPass is that it's the best NAC solution.

The most valuable functions of Aruba ClearPass include self-service registration with an onboarding license and OnGuard for security to check system status. The solution allows onboarding for users and offers many additional capabilities.

Guest access management is particularly important for Aruba ClearPass. Users can implement self-registration for guest management. The system allows you to identify each device that has access, though this depends on multiple factors. The feature's implementation varies based on these different factors.

I cannot see any improvement in Aruba ClearPass as it has remained largely the same since its creation. It is based on Linux, and I think they must make it a fabric for all products, not only for Aruba ClearPass. It should be one integrated solution from the switching part, Aruba ClearPass part, and access point or wireless solution.

I am uncertain if they have integrated it with Central, but managing Aruba ClearPass through Central would be beneficial. I believe this is in HP's plan.

I have been working with Aruba ClearPass for approximately seven years.

The policy management capabilities of Aruba ClearPass can be complicated for normal users, but for experienced users, it is quite straightforward.

Regarding stability, Aruba ClearPass is the number one NAC solution I can rate. It is better than ICE and better than Forescout in my opinion.

From my perspective as a presales professional, when designing Aruba ClearPass from the beginning, you must make space for scalability. The process is straightforward as you only need to add a license. Everything will be handled when you add new users because all configurations are deployed from the beginning.

The customer service team is very good. When I encountered a problem with Aruba ClearPass, they sent an Indian support representative who was exceptionally experienced. I learned many things from him, as he was extraordinarily knowledgeable compared to other Aruba representatives I have worked with.

ICE (Identity Services Engine) from Cisco is the main competitor in the market for Aruba ClearPass. While I haven't personally worked with ICE, based on NSS Labs reports and discussions with colleagues, Aruba ClearPass is preferred over ICE.

Regarding on-premises deployment, there are two types: hardware server and VM. The hardware deployment is not simple and requires someone with significant experience. The person deploying should be at minimum a professional level, not someone junior, as the product involves many complex aspects.

We are a partner for Aruba.

Aruba ClearPass is very powerful when integrated with Palo Alto, resulting in enhanced security. The integration between Palo Alto and Aruba ClearPass is straightforward.

Their market share has grown significantly. While they initially had minimal market presence, they have increased their share across all Aruba products, not just one product.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate Aruba ClearPass a 10.

We use Aruba ClearPass as a network access control solution. It prevents unauthorized access and allows access for users in the internal environment, performing checks and onboarding.

We use ClearPass to secure our environment. Before ClearPass, our environment wasn't as secure.

The most effective feature for us is the OnGuard feature. ClearPass is the heart of our system, controlling all its modules. Additionally, the technical support is good, and the GUI is flexible.

I don't see any limitations in ClearPass. If we can't integrate directly with a device, we can use APIs to do so.

I have about three years of experience working with Aruba ClearPass.

The solution is very stable with no noticeable glitches.

I believe the scalability of ClearPass is rated as ten out of ten. It is flexible and we can integrate it with other vendors easily.

I would rate the customer service support as eight out of ten. The support is consistent and satisfactory.

I recommend Aruba ClearPass. It is more flexible, stable, and easy to redeploy compared to ISE or FortiNAC.

I use the solution primarily for network access control. I have worked massively with Cisco over the last year, and I have also started to use Aruba.

The policies can be defined very well, although it is quite complex. However, this is why OrnoX is a much simpler alternative. Many authentication mechanisms are available, such as for the devices, you could use it. 

Aruba prefers the cloud deployment, yet you could also have it on your private cloud environment. You have a good return on investment with Aruba, which is the best overall solution compared to competitors like Cisco, Forescout, and others.

The policies are quite complex to set up. Aruba's modular and staggered commercial model requires separate licenses. It is also more expensive and requires time for policy management and skillset adaptation if moving from Cisco.

Once the policy is defined, scaling works automatically and is fast, however, initially, it takes time.

Aruba's customer service is much better than Cisco's. Portnox is one level up, as their customer support is outstanding.

You have a good return on investment with Aruba if considering a long-term perspective, like minimum five years.

Pricing is licensing-based, involving a modular and staggered commercial model with separate licenses needed to suit specific requirements.

I evaluated Forescout, Portnox, and Cisco. Cisco still has a significant market share, however, more companies are shifting to Aruba or Portnox.

I rate the solution as a nine out of ten. 

You should evaluate your needs and the size of your network to decide on the most suitable solution, as Aruba is designed for large networks in the enterprise.

Device onboarding is quite a significant part of our use, primarily for wired devices. We are also using it for a wireless portal. The focus has been on securing the wired ports.

Aruba ClearPass is feature-rich and fairly straightforward to implement. It integrates well with 802.1X configuration and the integration with our switches. The ClearPass solution has reduced the amount of engineering time compared to previous solutions, making it more efficient for our purposes.

There are no current improvements needed for our specific remit, however, the licensing model can be frustrating. A more streamlined menu of licensing options would be helpful. 

Additionally, some minor UI updates could potentially enhance user experience.

We previously used other solutions like ICE. Aruba ClearPass was chosen for its ease of use and its notable presence in the hospitality sector. It integrates well within our hospitality projects.

The initial setup for a basic configuration takes about a day. Once we have a clear definition of requirements, one engineer is sufficient to get it up and running.

The implementation is handled in-house with one engineer managing the process, which is sufficient given the clear definition of requirements.

Using Aruba ClearPass has resulted in less engineering time compared to other products we've used.

Pricing and the licensing model can be a bit frustrating. Achieving the best price requires careful selection from a menu of licensing options, which can include more advanced or basic features.

Aside from Aruba ClearPass, we are working with Ruckus CloudPath.

I would recommend Aruba ClearPass to other organizations for its flexibility and ease of use. Compared to other products, it is easier to manage and integrates well with non-Aruba environments. I'd rate it an eight out of ten overall.

I used Aruba ClearPass for guest access, BYOD, and other network access controls. I installed it at various client locations, including an enterprise where the clients were not fully utilizing the solution.

Aruba ClearPass allows for guest access, BYOD control, IoT device control, access control, device visibility, policy management, interoperability with third-party solutions, self-service, and device profiling. These functions make the solution valuable since I can manage device access and enforce policies.

Aruba ClearPass needs significant improvement in being user-friendly. The configuration and overall use are not easily understandable. The language and policy enforcement mechanisms are not clear, making it difficult to use the product effectively.

I have worked on Aruba ClearPass for five to six years.

I cannot comment on the stability of the product as I'm not satisfied with it. It might require additional training to fully understand its functionality.

In my experience, the scalability of Aruba ClearPass is average. I rate it a five out of ten.

The technical support from Aruba is good and reliable. I would rate it an eight out of ten.

The return on investment from Aruba ClearPass is unclear. The product was installed but not utilized by clients, remaining largely unused for compliance purposes.

I do not recall the exact pricing. However, Aruba ClearPass is a premium product with higher pricing, which seems unnecessary given its complexity.

I find it difficult to recommend Aruba ClearPass. Despite its functionalities, the installation and configuration process is complicated. Proper training might improve the user experience.

I'd rate the solution three out of ten.

We have network access control in our field and a contract with a local company that supports many implementations and makes changes, not that we start from scratch. Having local support makes it much easier.

They are really good. Whatever we have thought can be done, they have done it. And we had a lot of extra requests. 

We are interacting with CrowdStrike and On Guard, and we have integrated too. 

ClearPass from Aruba is easier to understand compared to Cisco, which has more features but is more complicated. Cisco also has much more expensive prices, based on my checks.

We have local support, so it's much easier. I always request that it's certified. They are really good.

I am more of a Cisco person, and I would like to have Cisco ISE. However, Cisco is more complicated compared to Aruba ClearPass.

We have a contract with a local company that supports implementation and everything that needs to change.

We cannot mix in prices, and of course, prices are going higher. We didn't have any complaints till now.

I considered Cisco, which may have more features, however, it's more complicated and expensive compared to Aruba ClearPass.

Security is a big issue nowadays. I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.
