Bitdefender GravityZone XDR Reviews

I am using SentinelOne not for MDR, only for EDR/XDR, because we wanted to use it for MDR, but the threshold for the required number of licenses to secure machines or users is quite high at 200, and we are below that number. Therefore, we just use it for several machines for XDR, and the console is working pretty well, but not for MDR.

We are using Bitdefender GravityZone XDR. With one project, Bitdefender GravityZone XDR won, so we are using it for MDR and recently upgraded it to MDR. I have to still put some configurations into it, but we are using it for EDR/XDR as endpoint protection for our clients, for servers, and we are using email security with GravityZone as well.

We have been using it for XDR purposes for about half a year, seven to eight months, starting to implement it at the end of last year, around November or December. Since then, we are working with it, and so far, we have no problems; it's working smoothly with email security. Initially, we had some issues with accessing quarantined mails, but we found solutions, and we haven't had many incidents. Recently, we dealt with two or three incidents where users clicked on email attachments and those were quarantined immediately, showing that it's working fine.

We are working with GravityZone, which includes the regular XDR and also now the MDR package from Bitdefender GravityZone XDR along with email security. Before that, we had email security with Sophos firewall, but we moved that to GravityZone, which is a cloud-based service.

What really stands out about Bitdefender GravityZone XDR is the overall package, which is very interesting. The most important thing is that it is well-contained in the Bitdefender environment, making it quite simple to connect to our on-premise mailboxes, so simplicity is what stands out for me.

The analytics features are quite good and simple; there are many options for setting filters to get reports. Commonly important reports are readily available without the need to search for them, which is good. When we've had to research problems with mails not being available, this worked quite well too.

For data correlation, we just haven't worked long enough with it to assess its impact on our overall threat response strategy. We prefer a system that simply informs us when there is a problem; we don't want to engage too much in threat hunting. Therefore, we're not looking to create a SOC from this, which is also why we moved from XDR to MDR.

There are areas for improvement, including the difficulty in getting the right handles on the applied email filters. It's sometimes unclear why one email is treated as spam and another is not, even if they contain similar content. Making the process of how emails are treated a bit more transparent would be beneficial.

We've had stable performance after some early glitches that were on Bitdefender's side, which were resolved easily. The only issue was a configuration mismatch, but overall, it has been absolutely stable since.

The solution is very scalable; however, I'm not entirely sure if there are different pricing tiers for increased licenses and seats. Since it's cloud-based, we are generally not limited by server capacity and can purchase more service without concern.

I have not had too many cases where I've needed support. Typically, I first go to NinjaOne, which then dispatches issues to Bitdefender GravityZone XDR. Based on that, I would say the support is quite good; I can't complain about it.

I would rate my satisfaction with support between seven and eight.

We weren't using the Sophos Endpoint Protection Suite; we were evaluating it, but in the end, it didn't meet our needs as Sophos lost against the competitors, so we are now using a different brand for that.

Regarding pricing, this was a factor in why we selected Bitdefender GravityZone XDR; it has the best price compared to SentinelOne and Sophos MDR. Sophos was the most expensive, while SentinelOne could have been interesting price-wise, but we faced issues with the number of licenses required. We ended up with Bitdefender GravityZone XDR, which is affordable, especially since we could save on Sophos firewalls by moving email security.

The access control, we are not using at the moment. We are using Sophos primarily for firewall security and securing networks, which is the main focus that we have. There was one project that would have included the Sophos MDR, so endpoint protection with MDR, but we then chose a different product, so we're not using Sophos for that kind of projects. I rate Bitdefender GravityZone XDR eight out of ten.

I am using Bitdefender GravityZone XDR in my capacity as a CTO and a partner or reseller of Bitdefender.

I find that the auto-response capability is most valuable. It improves incident response times. I also appreciate the overall utilization of AI to enhance security posture.

The product could be improved by offering a single panel for the management of all Bitdefender products. Additionally, there might be a need to simplify the interface in the future.

The technical support from Bitdefender is generally good, however, they still need to improve their response time, overall competence, and the quality of first-level support.

The pricing of Bitdefender GravityZone XDR is reasonable.

I would generally recommend Bitdefender GravityZone XDR to others. There is the need for a single panel for the management of all Bitdefender products. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

The company uses Bitdefender GravityZone XDR for security operations. It is implemented in a cloud environment, utilizing virtual machines and Google's G Suite. The solution is primarily used to enhance security measures for the organization.

The HyperDetect feature in GravityZone XDR is effective. It helps reduce the workload on the company's security administrator. Additionally, the use of AI in anomaly detection and automated threat intelligence analysis enhances the security posture of the organization.

The resource consumption is high for Bitdefender GravityZone XDR, nearly using one gigabyte of RAM, especially on Windows 10 and 11. Many customers have mentioned this as a weakness. The interface in Taiwan requires support for Traditional Chinese.

I have used Bitdefender XDR for eight months.

The technical support by Bitdefender is good. Feedback is prompt, and they always resolve my problems.

The initial setup is not very easy but also not very difficult. It requires more calculation, especially when deployed to cloud services like Google Cloud and AWS. More configuration time is needed to connect to these services via API.

The pricing is reasonable. It is not very cheap but also not very expensive.

I would rate GravityZone XDR more than nine out of ten.

Nowadays, people are looking for ransomware protection because data is not recoverable. So they want robust security against ransomware. Bitdefender EDR and XDR offer many controls and a lot of visibility about incidents and events happening on the endpoint.

Bitdefender helps mitigate threats before they cause any problems, even without the administrator's knowledge.

Cross-endpoint correlation is a key functionality that helps identify and understand the threat landscape and get visibility. It provides an in-depth analysis and gives recommendations, along with a historical search capability. Bitdefender is loaded with machine learning technologies and has many patents related to machine learning. The accuracy in identifying threats and malicious entities is decent.

The XDR market is not very mature, and additional costs are involved.

Since the day the XDR was launched, I have been working with them for the past eight years.

Stability is one of the biggest strengths Bitdefender offers. It's a very stable product.

Scalability with Bitdefender is good.

I rate Bitdefender support eight out of ten. The support provided by our team and the global team is good.

Implementation rates nine out of ten. It requires only a few hours for the sensors to be enabled.

The technical support and implementation are managed by our team.

The tool is considered an investment rather than overly expensive. People are slowly moving from EPP to EDR and eventually XDR.

I highly recommend Bitdefender XDR because it can give visibility in the early stages and protect infrastructure from upcoming threats and complex threats.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

I'm an MSSP (managed security service provider), and I provide the solution to my customers as part of a complete suite of security measures.

From a Bitdefender point of view, we're trying to protect our customers from ransomware and unusual behavior that might be occurring on specific devices and servers. That is just one component of many tools needed to protect a customer fully.

The Bitdefender we deliver is integrated into the security operations center (SOC). From one pane of glass or one dashboard, which is the SOC dashboard, we can see alerts and events that are occurring within Bitdefender.

Bitdefender GravityZone XDR is a good quality ransomware antivirus product. We like it because it's an industry-quality antivirus as opposed to some of the better-known ones like Symantec or Norton. Bitdefender has a better reputation for being up-to-date and picking up more threats.

Patch management is important to keeping companies secure. The solution has an automatic patch management capability. Customers never find their software or operating systems vulnerable because Bitdefender would have automatically patched them.

Bitdefender sells XDR and EDR products, but we tend to stop at the EDR level. BitDefender has lots of modules if people want to pay for them. We primarily push encryption patching and antivirus and integrate that into the security operations center.

The solution’s pricing could be improved.

I have been using Bitdefender GravityZone XDR for three years.

I haven’t faced any issues with the solution’s stability.

I rate the solution ten out of ten for stability.

I'd give the solution's scalability a high score. I can manage online and over-provision, but I only get billed when the customer uses the licenses. Suppose a customer has 100 users. If they want to add another ten users, they can do that immediately without coming to me.

I just built them for it by looking in the dashboard and knowing that they're using more licenses. They don't have to come back to me for a quote. They can immediately set up the additional users without waiting for me to enable it. Likewise, they can remove users if they need to. I have around 1,000 devices protected with Bitdefender GravityZone XDR across 12 customers.

The solution's technical support is good, fast, and responsive.

I rate the solution a nine out of ten for value for money because it offers good value for money. Users pay more for the tool because they get good value for money and a better product. The solution offers my customers better protection from cybercrime.

I bill my customers for Bitdefender GravityZone XDR monthly.

On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten.

We're not using Bitdefender for automated response capabilities. We typically use the SOC (security operations center) to do that, but we take information from BitDefender to help make proper decisions.

The solution's integration is good. It integrates with what we need to offer the support and services that we want to offer.

I have a nice multi-tenant dashboard, which makes it easy to change customers' choices and capabilities online, manage them, and see their utilization and any issues.

Don't take free antivirus off the internet if you are looking for antivirus. Be very clear about what you want to protect and how you're going to protect. Some run-of-the-mill solutions like Norton and Symantec that you can buy in the high street computer shops are only adequate, not excellent.

Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.

We send it to many customers. It would be some customers in the government sector, some of them in manufacturing, some of them in IT, etcetera. So, it's a very diverse customer profile. It's SMB-ish, so small and large enterprise also.

It's pretty easy to use in terms of management. The console is very user-friendly. You don't require too much technical knowledge to use the console, which is very straightforward in terms of the features, but in case somebody wants to configure anything, it's pretty easy to do that.

The only thing I would suggest is that the on-premise solution is slightly costlier. That's where Bitdefender could do something. Because the cloud solution is pretty okay, but the on-premise thing where Bitdefender has a VM to build in, and based on that, you have to do the installation and all that could become slightly faster, which could be made slightly much much simpler, so that it's more affordable for people to do that. That could be something Bitdefender can look at.  

Another area of improvement is CPU utilization. CPU utilization could be improved.

We have been working with Bitdefender for almost six years.

It's pretty stable. Like, till late, we have not had any complaints from any of the customers saying things like I was crashed or anything like that. It's used to is stable and working fine. 

The only issue some people have is CPU utilization, which is something they have to do with that. If not, stability-wise, absolutely no problem at all. It's been perfect.

Scalability is also pretty easy.  It's easy to increase the capacity. You can just add on licenses to the existing license, and the duration of the license can be adjusted. For example, you've already bought a license for a year, and you want to add some more users. We can just add on licenses for the remaining period so that the entire organization can have the same expiry date. That makes renewal easier. 

in India, we have close to almost, a thousand end users.

We've reached out to Bitdefender when a company has had some issues. They've done whatever research needs to be done, and if any development needs to be done, they've taken care of it. We've been able to solve the issues. 

So it's been pretty good in terms of support. They've given us good support, and resolution times are also very good.

Setup is pretty easy because they have a small software that needs to be downloaded at the endpoint. And once you download it and configure it, it gets connected there. 

There's one more thing that some of the customers have come back about CPU utilization. In some of the modules, when all the modules are selected, the CPU utilization can go slightly higher. Some of the customers have come back, complaining about that. That is something Bitdefender can look at, such as how to reduce the CPU utilization of the desktop once all the modules are configured. 

If it's a new setup, deployment is pretty straightforward. If it's an existing setup where there's already some other antivirus, remove that and then deploy Bitdefender. So the removal tool is very important. 

We'd use the removal tool to remove the earlier antivirus and then deploy Bitdefender. So those are the steps we follow. After that, configure based on the customer's requirements and what features they want to be configured and set up.

It can be deployed both on-cloud or on-premises.

The customers are pretty happy. Compared to McAfee, Trend Micro, or Symantec, they're very, very happy with the price point. 

There are some cheaper antiviruses available, but naturally, the cheaper ones are not as good in terms of technology. So, in the business, Bitdefender is really good.

We are in India, and here the licensing is on a yearly level. It's a yearly renewal.

It's not the price of the software itself that makes it expensive. It's because you have to buy a VM; you have to buy additional hardware. All those things make it slightly costlier.

If anybody wants to buy any new anti-malware solution, I would recommend Bitdefender GravityZone XDR because it's pretty easy to use. The deployment is easy. The cloud console makes it easy to monitor from wherever you are. 

From an IT manager's perspective, you don't have to be physically present on-premises. You can always manage it over the cloud, deploy it, or monitor it. It's pretty easy in that way. The features are also pretty good, including their zero-day protection and malware protection.  Bitdefender is able to take care of all those things. 

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten.
