What is our primary use case?
Check Point Capsule Software is an excellent tool that provides a protection solution for several endpoints on different devices. For this reason, we implemented this technology as it covered the entire environment that we had migrated to the Azure cloud at the time and had a hybrid cloud.
The tool provides us with antivirus and a firewall, among other devices, which is why we selected it to provide perimeter security throughout our hybrid infrastructure.
It has given us enough security and reliability in all devices.
How has it helped my organization?
Check Point Capsule Software helped us a lot to improve our perimeter security and have all our devices safe both in the cloud and on-premise. Some threats that help us are malware, phishing, and data leaks.
In addition to that, one of the improvements that helped us a lot was improving the security posture. With this, we were able to make the appropriate decisions to reduce the vulnerability gaps that we presented.
With these solutions, we were able to prevent the loss of data from our organization.
What is most valuable?
All the functions that this technology brings us are very valuable in the protection of the organization. With these functions, we can keep our confidential data well protected.
The antivirus is great since it helps us with the real-time protection of all devices.
The firewall is useful. With its characteristics, we were able to control access to the network such as web filtering, port denial, and black or white listing, among other capabilities.
The VPN helped us a lot since it was possible to allow access from remote locations or users with permissions.
What needs improvement?
There are some general areas and features that could be improved in the next version of the Check Point Capsule software.
Cloud security could add more advanced features for apps and services.
Mobile device management would improve the administration and make it more flexible and dynamic.
They need to improve integration with cloud SIEMS.
Finally, they must improve the technical support process. When requesting it for a specific case, they do not coordinate a call in a good amount of time. They must also improve the SLA and the escalation of engineers
For how long have I used the solution?
It was implemented approximately four years ago.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Check Point Capsule Software is regularly updated with new features and security improvements and, to this day, has been very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The tool provides comprehensive security at all points and is, therefore highly scalable.
How are customer service and support?
Check Point provides many forms of support services. We have premium support, and we do not see a great advantage with the other types of support. They take time to respond and schedule a case.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We have always used the tool. The only thing we have done is apply the updates. We have considered making a change yet keeping the same brand.
How was the initial setup?
The implementation and configuration of the tool were simple. It took approximately one hour.
What about the implementation team?
The implementation was done through an internal team and the supplier's team since it was necessary to learn how the entire process is carried out. We had very good engineers who had good technical experience.
What was our ROI?
It is always important to carry out a cost-benefit analysis before purchasing a security tool since they are very expensive. That said, in the end, they pay off in security benefits by keeping the data confidential.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It is always recommended that when the implementation begins, the provider provides an engineer so that the configuration remains stable. Generally, the installation and configuration come at the cost of the installation.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Of course, we have evaluated different types of tools from different brands to see which is better in security or provides better features. Some of them are:
What other advice do I have?
It is always good, before acquiring a tool, to carry out an evaluation of the needs and functions. If this step is done wrong, you could be paying more.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Hybrid Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
