Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Using the app is straightforward with easy buttons to click on.
Customer Service: We didn't contact their customer service at any point because the backup and recovery process is pretty straightforward. But they have a customer support email and phone just in case. Technical Support: CloudAlly can be used by a non-techie person because it's simple. We didn't contact the technical support, but it's available for any user who may encounter a problem.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"From my perspective, the most valuable features in Acronis Cyber Protect include ransomware protection and antivirus. These features not only add significant value but also play a crucial role in closing deals. When selling backup for Microsoft 365, these security features, like ransomware protection and antivirus, serve as a starting point to offer backup and protection."
"We have saved massive drive space and shortened data transfer time to offsite due to the 8:1 ratio of the de-duplication and changed block tracking."
"The setup is very easy."
"The return on investment was great because it saved us many times, it saved our lives many times."
"The pricing is fine."
"The solution is exceptional for desktop backup."
"Acronis Backup is easy to use."
"What Acronis provides is much more than that; it provides backup, management, and security, as well as vulnerability management and patch management, and a little bit of DLP."
"CloudAlly provides a unique solution for every major email application."
"Definitely an impressive ROI because the app is inexpensive and saves us time, headaches plus slow computer devices that could be jammed with huge data."
"With this solution, its remarkable to see that ease of use means ease of use."
"The user-friendly interface of CloudAlly significantly enhances data protection."

Cons

"We have issues with the SQL databases which are supported but not so successfully, it's a little shaky."
"Acronis Backup support could improve."
"I would like to have more cybersecurity integration to properly round up the product and its offering."
"I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks."
"More flexibility with Acronis Linux Console ability to run modules such as the Acronis Windows console; some LINUS modules are locked."
"One improvement that could be made is adding the option to download files in a PST format when doing a 365 or Google Cloud to cloud backup."
"It does not delete locked files."
"MS Exchange and SQL backups are a little slow and odd to setup."
"CloudAlly can improve in the areas of reporting, especially regarding backup statistics and backup failures presented in pie graphs and charts."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would rate the solution’s pricing an eight out of ten. The tool’s subscription is yearly."
"There is a license required for this solution and it can be on a monthly basis."
"Licensing fees are billed annually and there are no extra charges."
"If the solution was less expensive it would be better."
"The pricing model is a little complex to find the right size for what you need. It takes a lot of hours to figure it out."
"It is very cost-effective for the SMB segment, especially for start-ups and smaller environments. It is cost-effective for on-premises and on-cloud deployments in such environments."
"You pay for what you use in the cloud. If you don't start the virtual machine in the cloud, you only pay for the information stored there. But when you start the virtual machine, another pricing model is activated."
"We pay a yearly subscription fee and the pricing is reasonable."
