Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Easy to setup, good support and stable product
When we started, we used Acronis for both cloud and on-premises backups. Protege was a reliable solution, and the cloud-focused approach is well-suited for our current needs. If you require both cloud and on-premises backup capabilities, Acronis is a more comprehensive solution. For solely cloud-based backups, Protege is a solid option.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Getting an image of a server machine just for disaster recovery purposes is valuable."
"I would definitely say the backup and recovery. It used to be a separate module. It was a recovery part and it would literally duplicate the machine to bare bones."
"I didn't start using Acronis until I came here 3 years ago - it's what the organization was using already, and I found that I liked it better than Symantec."
"Try all of the solutions in the market; you will see for yourself that Acronis is the easiest to use and stable, and it has never failed on me."
"The user interface (UI) is easy to use."
"There are cheaper backup solutions around, but they are not as straightforward to set up and to use and lack some of the features of this product."
"The interface is easy to use. They keep on adding new features. Acronis recently added multi-platform support."
"Compared to what we had before, we now have ease of use."
"Since it is on the cloud, it is a very stable solution."

Cons

"Currently, there is no option to use the tape drives again as a backup repository for the cloud deployment."
"It takes a long to backup data using Acronis backup and recovery v11 and I found Acronis support not really helpful as they always suggest to update the software instead of solving the issue with the current version."
"The initial installation of the product was difficult."
"The solution's error handling can be improved specifically for Linux errors."
"The problems that we face are often related to the customer's network, although sometimes there are problems with the software, such as an error in the configuration."
"The product needs to have a simple DR process."
"Yes, mostly with Acronis Snap Deploy, using network deployment, most clients do not automatically get DHCP settings when using dual network adapters on the Server."
"As far as the functionality goes, I haven't had a single issue with it. Rather, I've had some issues with the understandability of the interface."
"One area for improvement would be expanding its capabilities beyond Azure-specific backups."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing fees are billed annually and there are no extra charges."
"You pay for what you use in the cloud. If you don't start the virtual machine in the cloud, you only pay for the information stored there. But when you start the virtual machine, another pricing model is activated."
"I think that the prices of the product go up every year. If one is extremely expensive and ten is absolutely cheap, I rate the product price as six."
"Acronis Cyber Protect's pricing is reasonable."
"The tool is cheap compared to other products."
"The price of the solution is expensive and could be reduced a little."
"There are monthly fees to use Acronis Backup."
"The price is reasonable."
