Easy to setup, good support and stable product
When we started, we used Acronis for both cloud and on-premises backups. Protege was a reliable solution, and the cloud-focused approach is well-suited for our current needs. If you require both cloud and on-premises backup capabilities, Acronis is a more comprehensive solution. For solely cloud-based backups, Protege is a solid option.

Pros

"Since it is on the cloud, it is a very stable solution."
"Veeam Backup Replication's snapshotting and cloning are the most valuable features."
"Veeam Backup Replication has good performance and can do location-to-location backups. Additionally, it is user-friendly and easy to manage."
"Replication is most valuable."
"It is a good solution for backups and reporting."
"The most beneficial aspect of Veeam ONE is the ability to track your company's growth on a month-to-month basis. With this tool, you can determine if you need to purchase more target storage or if you have enough. This is essential for budgeting purposes, as, without this information, you may discover too late that you require additional storage or that your cloud usage is not aligning with what you are being charged. Veeam ONE aids in forecasting and usage analysis, making it a valuable asset."
"It is a rock-solid backup solution. That's all, and that's what we were asking for."
"The most valuable addition recently introduced is the Continuous Data Protection feature."
"It's very easy to work with and it's very reliable."

Cons

"One area for improvement would be expanding its capabilities beyond Azure-specific backups."
"The database backup process could be improved. It would be beneficial to enhance this feature and also consider the addition of a web interface to increase accessibility."
"They could improve the product's response times for technical support and enhance support for newer hypervisors."
"The initial setup can get complex."
"There is a lot of information, so maybe the dashboards could consolidate it."
"The pricing model could be improved. It can be made cheaper."
"The product's initial setup process could be complex for application backup and database agent installations."
"The interface and cluster environments could be improved in the future as presently they are using agent interface instead of user interface. Also, the backup for the Oracle WAC environment can be improved."
"It would be nice if the solution scanned for malware in the backups."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The subscription-based pricing of Veeam Backup Replication is competitive."
"On a one to ten scale, where one is very cheap and ten is very expensive, I rate the price as a five out of ten."
"This solution requires a license and the organizations I was involved in were using an enterprise license."
"I understand from management that the DR component is too expensive."
"Our licensing runs for five years, and after that time we do the renewal. There haven't been any further costs beyond our initial licensing plan because our customer is satisfied with the setup that has been configured and the overall backup environment."
"For what it does, the price is acceptable."
"We have a yearly perpetual license."
"The product is expensive for small businesses."
