Near-zero downtime has protected critical workloads and now simplifies hybrid cloud recovery

The best features of HPE Zerto Software are mainly very sophisticated and relevant to the current market. The data protection CDP part has real-time replication, unlike other solutions that have snapshot backups. We can set it up hourly, making it ideal for use with workloads. Another attraction is the near-zero RTO, with automated failover within minutes and one-click failover and failback. Currently, we are using a hybrid cloud solution, and HPE Zerto Software supports multi-cloud environments, making it easy to migrate between on-premises and cloud. Regarding the impact of HPE Zerto Software on our RTOs, we have near-zero RTO, meaning the system must be back online within thirty minutes if we measure the time. It is very quick to recover services. With HPE Zerto Software's near-synchronous replication, we have some CDP protection, so we typically write interceptions along with some asynchronous replication. There is almost real-time replication available.

Backup operations have become reliable and reporting now simplifies hybrid cloud protection

Veeam Data Platform has Veeam Enterprise Manager as well as Veeam ONE as valuable features, which allow us to generate various kinds of reports that are required for the customer. Instant VM Recovery is a good feature of the high-speed recovery features in Veeam Data Platform, and Continuous Data Protection (CDP) is also a good feature. Ransomware protection is a good feature added in Veeam Data Platform from version 12 onwards, and the ability to create immutable repositories is also a good feature in Veeam. The analytics part of Veeam Data Platform is a good solution because I have worked on various backup technologies such as EMC NetWorker and NetBackup. However, I have not used the analytical parts currently but will check it out. Streamlining processes as well as saving money are benefits that Veeam Data Platform provides for the end user, as it allows for application-aware backups and database backups without the need for various kinds of licenses that other backup software requires. Veeam offers socket-based licenses, instance-based licenses, and capacity-based licenses, which is a great feature.

Hi Abhishek, That's a great question. In Europe/Austria most of the companies run Veeam - so do we. There a lot of advantages if you use Veeam as it's designed. Also, Zerto (more for Data migration) we use - but not for Backup. VM SRM is good for 1:n replication if you already use VMWare. There is a good comparison: https://community.veeam.com/vu... RTOs usually = hours depending on the size and complexity of the environment, VMware to VMware only, Comprehensive DR workflows for recovery, complicated to setup and run. Veeam = Many options for VM and VM data protection. Options for VM replication or VM backup with backup replication for DR. Can support Multi-Site and Multi-Cloud, Extensive backup and archive options for long-term retention, Ransomware detection by scanning backups, RPO – hours or days depending on backup and replication scheduled. Simple setup, DR recovery workflows are more manual than Zerto or SRM unless you leverage a 33rd party automation solution, RTOs usually = hours or days depending on dataset sizes and environment complexity.
