Reliable image backups have protected our HMIs and simplified on‑premises recovery
We have not tried the vulnerability assessment feature yet because we have a different set of protocols for our cybersecurity. We conduct audits and plug the gaps as part of our security approach. We are not using AI with the anti-malware from Acronis; we are using it only for backup and recovery. On the backup and restoration side with Acronis Backup, some on-premises AI features which can detect anomalies may be something which would improve the product significantly. Otherwise, we are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.

Simply provides single-vendor, consistent cloud-based backup
I would say that the room for improvement comes under the heading of performance. We backup a lot of information in a 24-hour period. It works fine. But there's always room for improvement on that. If they would make my 24-hour backup cycle window, from start to finish, a 15-hour or a 12-hour backup window, I'd be that much happier. Just to be clear, there's no time consumption on the part of my staff. This runs fully automatically. But the concern is that when you do backups, you want your backup window to be as narrow as possible. Actually, our backup window is 20 hours, and it gets done in 20 hours. Because, the longer it lingers, the more of a window there is for a disaster to knock you down.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I recommend this solution every chance I get, including for personal use."
"The solution suits my business needs; it works perfectly for me."
"Buy it."
"From my perspective, the most valuable features in Acronis Cyber Protect include ransomware protection and antivirus. These features not only add significant value but also play a crucial role in closing deals. When selling backup for Microsoft 365, these security features, like ransomware protection and antivirus, serve as a starting point to offer backup and protection."
"This is a full software so deployment time is very quick."
"After you are done with your first backup you can forget about the solution."
"It's a good solution that's very easy to use."
"It is fast and easy for an image-based backup across all platforms."
"We don't think about our backups anymore, they're that reliable."
"The most important features is that it provides consistent cloud-based backup."

Cons

"Acronis Cyber Protect could be more affordable, especially for us in South America. It is important to review the cost for different countries."
"I believe that the next release should be easier to configure as this one is difficult to configure even the easiest of tasks."
"Those functions have been removed from the product and it's very frustrating."
"The technical support is less than average."
"When you are using enterprise hardware and software that increases over time, there need to be better and more management features. For pure backup software, it is fine, but when it comes to managing a large infrastructure it is lacking."
"Otherwise, the Acronis software will cause a lot of trouble at the time of reinstallation."
"There can be inconsistencies between builds in terms of the product working with one NIC or another, especially on newer generation servers."
"They need to continue working on it to make it work more smoothly and faster."
"We backup a lot of information in a 24-hour period. It works fine. But there's always room for improvement on that."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of Acronis Backup could be reduced, it is expensive."
"Doing what this is capable of doing, the cost of it is in line."
"Acronis Cyber Protect's pricing is reasonable."
"I find the pricing structure satisfactory, it is around $25 per year."
"The tool's subscription costs are monthly. The product's pricing is fair."
"There are monthly fees to use Acronis Backup."
"The pricing is significantly higher than it was last year, which is understandable since they have introduced new technology, such as transitioning from backup to cybersecurity."
"The pricing is comparable to the newest solution available on the market, Altaro."
