Acronis Cyber Protect and NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP compete in the data protection and storage management sector. Acronis seems to have the upper hand with its cost-effectiveness and data protection features, while NetApp offers robust data management and scalability.
Features: Acronis offers scheduling for backups, network drive restoration, and cloning. It supports multiple platforms, including Windows and Linux, and provides data encryption and cloud integration. NetApp provides high availability, multi-protocol support, and data replication with SnapMirror, which includes deduplication for cost efficiency.
Room for Improvement: Acronis users desire a more intuitive interface and less resource-intensive installations, along with improved support for configurations and guides. NetApp users suggest enhancements in cloud integration, performance scaling, and automation for easier deployments. Both could benefit from enhancements in their respective key areas.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Acronis is known for its straightforward deployment in hybrid environments, though its customer service is sometimes criticized for delays. NetApp offers comprehensive deployment capabilities with robust management tools; however, its setup could be complex. Its customer service is well-regarded but has room for consistency improvements.
Pricing and ROI: Acronis is cost-effective for SMBs with flexible pricing, though newer tiers pose challenges for some. NetApp offers scalability that reduces costs with higher data volumes, providing a solid ROI, especially for larger enterprises. Acronis excels in affordability, while NetApp is appreciated for its robust cloud integration and valuable scalability potential.
My customers see value in money and ROI with Acronis Cyber Protect, so they purchase it.
I'll give them a nine for how responsive they are in technical support.
The help team is very helpful and they reply very fast
Whenever I have a question, they respond very quickly each time.
Scalability for Acronis Cyber Protect ranges from small to medium businesses to large businesses.
I would rate it eight on a scale from 1 to 10 for scalability, considering it will be multiple assets.
Acronis Cyber Protect is a scalable product.
It wouldn't help with outages either; the scaling is manual, and there are no processes we've used to automate that for unexpected scenarios.
Acronis Cyber Protect is stable and if we get any issues, the help team is very helpful and their support team replies very fast.
It ended up being at a point where we actually had to disable some features in order for the client to work through that specific purpose.
The stability of Acronis Cyber Protect is very high.
We are not very comfortable with cloud-based solutions at this time. We are looking for products which are entirely on-premises, so they remain within our control.
If we could set an area that devices cannot go beyond, we could get a message or notification.
It's only after we discovered there was a compatibility issue with the application that the client was running that we actually had to do a lot of log file shipping to Acronis themselves and getting solutions because of other problems.
My opinion is that support is generally very good. There are instances where they take longer to respond or resolve issues, especially when customers have urgent needs, but ultimately, resolution is achieved.
It would be nice to see technology supporting the Elastic Fabric Adapter on Amazon AWS, therefore getting RDMA technology for more low-latency connections.
I would rate the price as nine out of ten.
I think it is not that expensive.
The biggest benefit of Acronis Cyber Protect for my customers is that it is a great asset to protect business data and ensure data is in a secure Vault.
The best features Acronis Cyber Protect offers are that it is very easy to recover data in file format or entire machine types, and the remote monitoring and tracking of location.
It also encrypts your backups and makes it safe, so it doesn't get affected with viruses.
The granular ability to divide up the performance and the amount of storage you want is really fantastic.
