Real-time alerts have reduced server outage impact and support fast incident response
In the dashboard, if they could show a little more metrics regarding the application and related things, that would be how New Relic could be improved. Currently, there are things showing from the server level and application level, but it can be improved. That is what I felt. Regarding user interface, I do not feel much concern, but for some kind of issues when we are trying to get support from the New Relic team, their SLA seems to be long. They are taking seven to ten working days for resolving some kind of scenario or issue. That is a bit difficult for us. If they could improve the customer support by reducing their SLA within three to five days, if they could remediate everything, that will be so much helpful. When it comes to the customer support part, I felt they need to be a little more improved on that part. The support overall is good, but they can improve. That is the reason I have given it eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This tool has great scaling capabilities, i.e., no limitations."
"From a testing standpoint, ignoring license and cost issues, it's not a bad product."
"Since using New Relic, time saved has improved by almost 50% due to the integration of Copilots and AI, and the ticket count reduction has surpassed 75%, allowing us to efficiently address similar issues."
"Working with the solution is very easy; it's user-friendly and overall it's a good product from what we have evaluated."
"It gives us insight into several areas-- Where slowdowns are, Which of our customers is hitting us most, and If there’s an application issue on the database side, how long a query takes."
"The most valuable features of New Relic are the reports and ease of use."
"New Relic has helped us in terms of optimizing our print and loading times, and it has solved many of our performance issues."
"It has in-depth analysis using developer code for someone whose not traditionally a developer."
"We use it for monitoring, identifying when services go down, or when they are outside of what we would consider normal operations."
"It does everything we wanted it to do."

Cons

"My concern is with Automation integration."
"I'd like to see alerting based on custom insight queries."
"There were some settings we had issues with."
"The product has good documentation for Linux, however, their documentation for Windows is lacking substantially. It's something they need to develop."
"I have logged a bug in their Ping Monitor within Synthetics and I need more improvement in this area."
"I chose a rating of 8 out of 10 because the UI requires me to dig in and find the needed traces, and it can be more user-friendly."
"Probably make the query language a little bit easier."
"Alerting based on custom insights queries. If I set a custom query to give me some value, I want to be able to set an alert for that."
"All the information is there, but sometimes it’s hard to figure out what it means."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I think the pricing is reasonable."
"I think it's overpriced for the technical support that we get. We spent over 1,00,000 USD a year."
"If I remember it correctly, the pricing was based on the core, and the monthly subscription used to cost us $1,500 or $2,000. We had pre-prod and production services. Costing was different for pre-prod and production. For pre-prod, it was 40% less than the production service cost. It was a combined package."
"The pricing and licensing are good if you have an account manager and a partner manager who are looking to help out."
"I recommend using the free version of New Relic. If you like the free version and understand its importance for your company, you can move to the trial. Then, you can migrate to the paid version."
"The detection piece of it brings us a big return on investment."
"The pricing is fine."
"This is an expensive tool."
