The Acumatica features I found most valuable are inventory control and sales recording Additional features I would like to see in the next release are more flexible reporting options. I would specifically benefit from the ability to create comparative reports for many months instead of having to…

Extensive real-time analytics and superior support enhance decision making but continued product evolution impacts existing investments
Improvement is needed, and they need to slow down. When I say slow down, they need to do more validation. Things are going rapidly and changing fast. For example, they moved from SAP SRM product to SAP CLM. They bought IBM CLM and marketed it as SAP CLM. Shortly after, they bought SAP Ariba and discontinued the SAP CLM product. Now they state that SAP SRM is outdated and has reached sunset. The challenge is that if a customer has already deployed the entire solution on-premises, it becomes difficult to immediately convert to the new product and manage new license costs. From a consulting perspective, it appears that SAP's biggest competitor is itself, as they sometimes discontinue their own products to promote new ones.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The way everything integrated well with everything else was most valuable. We had one solution for everything, from the first phone call down to follow-up visits for wholesale callers and for just regular purchases."
"This solution supports multiple branches."
"The integration is very stable."
"SAP S4HANA Cloud is stable, and its computational power and speed have improved in later versions."
"The most valuable feature of SAP S/4HANA Cloud is the new UX design."
"The SAP S/4HANA Cloud has greatly improved our business processes. With SAP hosting the backend, database (HANA), and the application, we get all new features and security patches seamlessly according to SAP's schedule. Everything, including certifications and integrations, stays up to date for the customer. We achieve almost zero downtime, which is very important. The cloud setup provides redundancy, so if something happens at one site, it's seamless to switch."
"SAP versions used to be quite cumbersome for the end-users. Now SAP S/4HANA has a totally different approach. They use Fiori landing pages, which makes life better."
"The solution's most valuable feature is the seamless integration of different modules into one solution."
"I found the integration feature of SAP S_4HANA Cloud the most valuable so far because prior to that, we used multiple systems that were not ERP; for finance to know procurement details, they had to log in to different systems; now it's all integrated, so finance can see anything, whether it's services or material procurement, which goes through procurement review and approval, enforcing that without a purchase order, there is no payment; this brought a lot of control to financial transactions and also provided visibility about revenues and profits against each business unit."
"It is stable and scalable. In the S4HANA plain version, they have new dashboards and things like that."

Cons

"The solution doesn't have features to break down the structure for multiple people in the project."
"For support, we go through a distributor, and the support we receive from them is much better than what we would from Acumatica directly. When we went to Acumatica support directly, we were not happy with it."
"We should be able to personalize it for the company. There should be more customization of the pages so that they seem more like a company rather than as an outside company. We should be able to change company images and things like that and do this kind of personalization."
"Their revolving AI should should be better improved."
"Integrating SAP with other products like payroll solutions should be smoother. I wish there were some tools a consultant could build according to the client's requirements. For example, say I want to process debit and credits. In SAP, we have to follow SAP terminologies and patterns. I need a template to deploy my structure according to the client's requirements. There is no structure available in SAP that a consultant can mold."
"The reporting aspect needs improvement, specifically in integrating the EWM and MM modules into a single report."
"The only thing that could be improved would be the complexity of the initial setup."
"The product could be improved by enhancing its user interface to make it more intuitive and by increasing the customization options for tracking and reporting, which would better align with our specific needs."
"There have been some pain points in moving from SAP to S/4HANA, but the company seems to be staying on top of those issues."
"The pricing is way over any of the other ERPs, and the bank integrations are not perfect. There are a lot of costs for other implementations and integrations with Salesforce and other systems. Rather than being a fully-fledged system on its own like most of the other ERPs, it relies too much on developed integrations by the implementation partner."
"The product can be improved by including a module for after-sales service modules."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is very expensive for a small business. If you're a small business, it is not a very good solution in that aspect, but if you are big and have more manufacturing, it is well worth it. It comes with the ability to integrate with one website. We had to modify ours. We customized it so that we could do hundreds of websites. In Texas, I believe that we were the only one ever to be integrated with hundreds of websites. So, the development of our API probably cost us a hundred grand, and then there would be maintenance. That's all outside of the standard licensing fee."
"The pricing model can be complicated in certain scenarios."
"The solution’s pricing is very high."
"The pricing of SAP S/4HANA Cloud is on the higher side."
"The license for S/4HANA is expensive, and the licensing structure is hard to understand. The admin license is something like 500 euros per user. Other ERP solutions allowed you to pick only the modules you need. The SAP ECC version requires you to take all the modules even if you are not using them."
"It's very expensive."
"The solution is affordable."
"This is a pricey solution that best serves large enterprises. Be sure to ensure that your company's requirements need to be fulfilled by SAP. There are many other ERP's that are cheaper yet highly functional. However, it is still cheaper than some of the competition (i.e. Oracle, ESD, etc.)"
"S/4HANA is an enterprise solution that many can't afford. You must invest a lot to get the most out of it. It isn't cheap. I rate the price seven out of 10."
