Managed cloud services have helped accelerate experiments with flexible configuration options
Sometimes the costs associated with spinning up a service, especially managed services, have implications. For example, if I create a Glue job, that will create S3 buckets and other resources that have cost implications, but once I clean up a Glue job, it does not delete the other accessory resources. Sometimes, I have to go hunting for what resources Amazon AWS might have provisioned and how it is costing behind the scenes. It can be complex depending on your level of expertise. It is not as easy to get started, especially when it comes to secure practices. Amazon AWS is more hands-on than other platforms.

Automated safeguards have protected patient data and simplify healthcare cloud compliance
ClearDATA Platform helped the healthcare organization, primarily used by healthcare providers in health, medical devices, and healthcare software, by integrating in such a way that it achieves compliance regulations as well as automated security protocols, controls, and monitors any cloud infrastructure risks while detecting security threats and generating audit reports. The best features of ClearDATA Platform include automated safeguard enforcement, compliance monitoring, audit-ready report preparation, and risk dashboards, all of which are essential. The biggest impact for my client comes from safeguard enforcement and risk scoring dashboards, as these features positively influence the organization by protecting sensitive patient data, ensuring it cannot be disclosed outside of the organization, and providing an overview of all security risks.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"There are so many references that I can refer to, and their technical support is great."
"AWS is stable."
"When we removed ECS, we moved into a serverless Lambda for 45 million, and our billing is now $8000 per month, which is an amazing amount of savings."
"This is a product that is easy to use and highly available."
"Amazon AWS is a stable solution."
"Amazon AWS is good in terms of deployment and user experience. Their certificate management and load balancer are also good features."
"AWS is quite good for cloud services such as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, providing a rich set of services and integrated monitoring tools alongside a competitive pricing model."
"Amazon AWS contains a lot of helpful services."
"After ClearDATA Platform is implemented, I received an appreciation email from the client stating they are very satisfied with the platform, and they were very happy with both the implementation and my recommendation."

Cons

"The user interface (UI) needs improvement. Right now, it's not the best."
"The initial setup was very complex."
"Somehow Amazon associated their marketplace as a place to find images of various installs (preconfigured software) and was late in the game enabling and promoting SaaS-based solutions. Thus, the AWS marketplace has near zero awareness in the mind of the prospect to find solutions to various problems plaguing them."
"It just needs to be improved from the security perspective."
"Support response times can be improved, especially in areas where faster assistance is crucial."
"The price could be better."
"Amazon needs to develop better tools for troubleshooting network traffic, application insights, performance, and even some aspects of integration mapping. I'm hoping AWS implements something like Azure's Network Watcher and a log analytics solution where a can pull logs from various services and present them in a single dashboard. I want to summarize the performance and usage of every service and application."
"What I would like to improve about Amazon AWS is the pricing, which is quite expensive for us, and we would definitely try to lower our spending because we are using quite a lot of our budget on Amazon AWS."
"The reason for my eight rating is that it is not integrated with artificial intelligence, which is a primary reason for the score."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing can be purchased on a yearly basis, which is an auto-renewal. We also have an on-demand on-pay purchase."
"We pay a monthly licensing fee. It's below $100 a month."
"It is much more expensive than any other cloud provider."
"The pricing may vary and is often influenced by marketing strategies."
"To anyone thinking about using AWS, I would suggest carefully designing your implementation. This is very important because it will impact the monthly cost of the solution. You need to think ahead and talk with your staff to find opportunities to make this more efficient."
"Pricing is an area that can be improved because it is very complicated. It considers the number of processes, bandwidth, and different kinds of usage. This makes it difficult to predict."
"One of the best-kept ways to reduce costs is to develop it on serverless technologies with AWS Lambda, SNS, DynamoDB, and S3."
"The solution should improve the pricing."
