Managed databases have simplified recovery and high availability for AI recruitment workloads
The features of Amazon RDS that I have found most valuable and useful so far are its fully managed service, point-in-time restore, and other serverless features such as snapshots and backups, which have eased my job to manage databases. The automated backups of Amazon RDS help in data recovery by mitigating disaster recovery. I can revert to the nearest time if there is any data corruption or other issues, and this helps tremendously. I assess Amazon RDS's read replica feature for improving application performance as good. For standby nodes in Amazon RDS, I am using them for high failover, and so far it has been performing well. I have used Amazon RDS's Multi-AZ deployments, and it helps enhance data availability by providing high failover. It enhances high availability for my application as well.

Provides cost efficiency and flexible control over clusters
The managed offering has two models: Polaris and Hybrid. We explored both during the PoC phase. The Hybrid model gives you the flexibility to keep your data safe on your own site but still have a managed service to control your infrastructure. The Polaris model, on the other hand, does not give you an insight into what kind of AWS box you are using. Based on your capacity planning, you can just choose the correct size of the box. It also gives you a dashboard. I would like Imply to include more flexible billing models with added options for superior infrastructure control, flexibility in scaling, and cost-effectiveness, such as choosing the number of CPUs required. We should have more flexibility and control over the infrastructure in terms of upscaling and downscaling. Currently, there are only certain tightly bound options. With more flexible options, more customers will adopt the solution.

"Imply Enterprise has positively impacted our organization as we have not faced any downtime in the past six months, and the stability is very high."
"One specific outcome showing how Imply Enterprise improves things for customers is that analytics performance improves significantly; customers who previously used Google BigQuery for advertising analytics switched to Druid and reduced their analytics time from one or two days to just one or two hours."
"One of the best parts of the solution is the Hybrid model that allows flexibility to keep control over the clusters."

Cons

"As a customer of Amazon RDS, you don't have super-user privileges, and that is the only drawback where improvements are required."
"The solution could improve the administration tools."
"The Amazon RDS engine could provide features for additional databases, such as Db2. It could also provide support for other databases, such as NoSQL databases, DynamoDB, and Apache Cassandra. They could all stay under one hood."
"The product's high price is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The product should support new databases."
"Amazon has a policy of automatically restarting the server every seven days."
"You can only get access from the sales support. That means if you want to buy something or renew your subscription or upgrade, all these services are easily available. Yet, if you would like to get some technical support, you have to pay for it. You have to pay for an additional subscription."
"The backup and restore processes take more time compared to other providers. For instance, if DigitalOcean takes two minutes to restore or create a backup, AWS will take 2 to 3 minutes."
"I would like Imply Enterprise to include more flexible billing models to add options for infrastructure control, flexibility in scaling, and cost efficiency."

"In my opinion, the customer support from Imply is good but not the best, as many customers in South Korea prefer Korean support, while communication is mainly in English, which sometimes complicates support."
"Imply Enterprise can be improved by providing more integrations and additional features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The prices for different regions are different."
"Amazon RDS is cheaper compared to other tools."
"The product is expensive."
"The price could be better."
"I would rate the tool's pricing an eight out of ten."
"By using a combination of Reserve Instances and On-Demand pricing, you can reduce the cost."
"Amazon RDS is an expensive solution."
"Imply pricing is in the middle range. Understanding the data model can help reduce overall system costs."
