Leading-edge NLP capabilities, efficient training of machine learning models, and the automation saves us significant time
The machine learning capability is good. The algorithm helps us to get the right data with less training effort. The technology seems to be a little bit ahead of the standard NLP software. They use more pattern recognition, rather than basing everything on reading static text. The problem with relying on an unchanging text is that it can depend on things such as the formatting, and where things appear within a document. This solution can process complex formats, which is helpful for us because we get a lot of PDFs and they come in many different formats. As an example, a carrier might include a list of their rates in a table, whereas a different carrier will write their rates into a paragraph, and yet another will put them into some sort of graphic. If you only capture text then you will only capture part of that data. Pattern recognition ultimately helps us to circumvent the problems in dealing with format variability in documents and allows us to capture the right data. When it comes to predicting what it is that a document needs manual intervention, CMR Plus does it pretty well. They have a QA cycle that is usually able to highlight such data. The content recognition ability, in terms of giving us only the data that we need and nothing else, is pretty good. It has a positive effect on our efficiency and by extension, it impacts our infrastructure costs.

Significantly reduces manual effort and improves team workflows through automated ticketing
We've used Agent Builder, IXP, and Maestro for orchestration. We have created context-grounded searches or chatbots using context grounding, and we also use context grounding within an Agentic flow where a bot or agent reads ServiceNow tickets to determine whether it has been assigned to the right work group. If it has not been assigned correctly due to human error, it automatically reassigns it to the right group. I would assess Agentic AI's ability to extract data points as effective. We created an agent for the purpose of extracting data, though not in a document. We created what we call an email conversation agent that engages with a customer, vendor, or someone in an email conversation with a set goal of extracting specific data points for an action to be performed subsequently. The one automation we have deployed in production involves the agent interacting with team members to collect data points and create a ServiceNow ticket. We appreciate almost all features of UiPath Platform, with one of the most successful ones being the use of Coms Mining. Most of the new features related to AI have all been good, and we use Agentic. We have already created a few agents and have started to use Maestro for a few flows, though we are not yet there to orchestrate an end-to-end workflow. We have good ROI from the automations we have developed with UiPath Platform, which far exceeds the investment in the platform. It has saved us tens of thousands of hours in manual effort, making the team members happy to pursue other things of value.

Pros

"Pattern recognition ultimately helps us to circumvent the problems in dealing with format variability in documents and allows us to capture the right data."
"The automation provided by this solution has saved us a lot of time."
"Its ease of use is valuable. For building an application, if I give this product to a newbie, he or she would be able to easily use it and build an application with minimum knowledge. No extra training is required. Its features are self-explanatory, and anyone can understand them, which is the main feature of this product."
"AI is a good feature. I am looking forward to that making life easier. It has enabled us to automate more processes. Based on the requirement, chat can hand over the process and we can kick off that bot to do the job. If someone has a problem with a ticket or with a schedule, they can connect to the schedule department or schedule bot."
"The initial deployment using the UiPath Platform was actually easy."
"With this solution, it has a more hands on GUI-based feature."
"We like UiPath's integration with the ARIA framework and Orchestrator we use to manage our automations. The Copilot also helps us streamline the development process."
"It took us only about two days of man-hours to build it out. Thus, it is easily implemented, programmed, and deployed. The ease of use and implementation together are a huge value-add and time saver to any organization."
"The most valuable functions in UiPath would be that it's easily integrated with multiple applications."
"There's a monthly upload process in my order management team. Every month, this team uploads a bunch of files to SAP. Now they don't need to do that because the bot does that for them at a given time period. The team members need to just upload a file to SharePoint and then the bot will pick it up."

Cons

"It would be very helpful to have a simple and extensive training guide, or training model, to help learn how to work with the product."
"We would like to see the overall accuracy increase from approximately 70% to perhaps 85%."
"UiPath could be more intuitive in how it formats strings, variables, or databases. This can sometimes be difficult, even for someone with a computer science background. Additionally, some tasks require a team effort as one person can get overwhelmed or discouraged."
"We'd like the upgrades to be a bit easier and more flexible."
"In the UiPath Academy, there's not much documentation for Document Understanding and Process Mining. Documentation for some of the newer tools needs to be added to the UiPath Academy."
"I would like to see a biweekly scheduling option in Orchestrator."
"While working on Excel and PDF, there should be a feature to define which content to extract and which table to extract from a document. It should extract only that. There should be a possibility to ignore everything else. I should be able to show one sample for one page, the second sample for the second page, or one sample for all pages. I would love to see such functionality in UiPath."
"UiPath Platform can be improved by working on specific use cases and partnering with us to help bring more belief in the system, and solving the pain points for the industry is critical."
"UiPath Insights needs improvement. It's been almost five months since we got it, and I'm yet to see a business impact dashboard, which was the selling point. Trying to get Insights support has been really tricky. The documentation that's out there is not detailed enough, and it doesn't really tell you how to make it happen. I've paid for a product for five months that I still can't present to my senior leadership."
"One of the issues is with the acquisition of new types of software and new companies. It's important to introduce process documentation and make sure that it's not just making it look like UiPath products, but making it feel and act like one to us. They need to make sure it's embedded and the integration is seamless. They should just keep improving how easy it is to use. I think it's very good already, but there's always room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is really good, and it's based on usage."
"UiPath is relatively expensive. It's not expensive if you only need to automate one or two processes, but if you need to use more, it's somewhat costly. There's also a free community version."
"I would rate the cost of UiPath eight out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"The price of UiPath is a little bit high, although there are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"It used to come at a high cost, but now it's more budget-friendly."
"We saved a little over $600,000. That totaled to almost 19 FTEs which we ended up saving."
"I wasn't surprised by the tool's pricing. It was comparable to my expectations."
"For our first customer, we started with Orchestrator, an unattended bot, and a couple of Studio licenses, all of which cost $25,000 USD for the year. It is definitely worth the money."
"It is not a cheap solution. There is an annual licensing cost for all the components."
