Open workflows have simplified data ingestion and curation but still need better UI and scheduler resilience
I think there could be improvements or enhancements in Apache Airflow in terms of having a better UI experience. The UX can be done a bit better. The web interface of Apache Airflow has helped me in tracking and troubleshooting since I'm operational and part of the operational side of Apache Airflow. Mostly, I go into the logs of the web server and scheduler to check what's happening in the back-end instead of looking at the front-end. The UI can give errors related to pipelines, but it can be more improved if we get errors related to import errors and scheduling errors. These areas can be improved. Other than a better UI experience, I would want to see improvements in the scheduler. Sometimes, for user-made mistakes, the scheduler goes down. I experienced this issue and I'm not sure whether it got fixed right now or not. If a user is building a data pipeline in Apache Airflow and a user makes a mistake in their code, that makes the scheduler go down and eventually Apache Airflow goes down. That is not what is expected. If that gets fixed, then it can do wonders.

The initial setup is straightforward and can be completed with the environment within an hour. First, take the latest from the git repository and check the git code to the monitor studio and a bar file, a deployable Bonita archive file. Then, take that process to the Bonita server, running at runtime on another server. Finally, deploy and enable it by selecting the proper organization.

"The most valuable feature of Apache Airflow is creating and scheduling jobs. Additionally, the reattempt at failed jobs is useful."
"The product integrates well with other pipelines and solutions."
"One of the most valuable features is you can create without coding, it is a low code platform."
"Bonita is user-friendly."

"Compared to other products on the market, Bonita presents a pretty acceptable level of robustness."
"Process automation with Bonita BPM is really easy."
"The most valuable features of Bonita are the connectors, detailed documentation, and web applications. The documentation was useful because it is how I learned how to use it."
"Bonita is simple and lightweight and is flexible to integrate with third-party systems. The UI is now flexible, whereas it was previously rigid. Any technology can be used as a frontend, including ReactJS, Angular, and others."

Cons

"The problem with Apache Airflow is that it is an open-source tool. You have to build it into a Kubernetes container, which is not easy to maintain, and I find it to be very clunky."
"One area for improvement would be to address specific functionalities removed in recent updates that were previously useful for our operations."
"Apache Airflow could be improved by integrating some versioning principles."
"There is a minor issue with the manual work in Airflow, as everyday activities are managed manually."
"The solution could be improved by simplifying the integration process."
"The dashboards could be enhanced."
"The stability and reliability of Apache Airflow cannot be praised as a great reliable application, but for small-scale solutions and small-scale use cases, we can always rely on Apache Airflow."
"Technical support is an area that needs improvement."
"I have run into a lot of problems because there is not enough documentation."
"The main issue with Bonita is that the workspace crashes sometimes."
"It would be nice to have a wizard to help walk through the development process and create a backbone."
"Bonita must add a rule engine. We are a 360-degree partner of Bonita. We can integrate with any kind of rule engine. We have a dashboard related to engine performance, but getting a configurable dashboard for the Buildium or transactional data will add value."
"I would like to improve the product's load balancing."
"I should be able to park the tasks that are within a process in a kind of container, and dynamically, a super admin should be able to connect these processes. This kind of feature might be helpful."
"We are struggling a bit with integrations."
"Bonita can improve by offering more flexibility. The developer does not receive the code of the application to modify it. Most of the other solutions I have used allow the developers to change or improve the code that is generated."

"It is an open-source solution."
"The solution is cheap."
"I am using the free version of Bonita."
"The Community Edition comes free of charge."

"The price is fair for what we are using the solution for."
"Licensing cost for the Enterprise edition comes out to be around 40,000 a year. There is also a Community edition, which is free. Some customers can go for the Community edition, but some of them require the Enterprise edition. "have installed the image of Bonita BPM on Amazon AWS and there is just one option to use and pay for."
"We are using the Community Version, which can be used free of charge."
