A simple and lightweight college course automation system with third-party integrations
The initial setup is straightforward and can be completed with the environment within an hour. First, take the latest from the git repository and check the git code to the monitor studio and a bar file, a deployable Bonita archive file. Then, take that process to the Bonita server, running at runtime on another server. Finally, deploy and enable it by selecting the proper organization.

Reduces costs with hardware abstraction and simplifies scaling
There is an issue where, in some situations, I need to scale up by observing both CPU and memory usage of containers, yet under the current options available at Amazon, this is not possible. I have to choose between monitoring CPU or memory to scale my solution. Not every software is built for deployment as a container service, although the current architecture trend is changing this.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Bonita is user-friendly."
"One of the most valuable features is you can create without coding, it is a low code platform."
"The user interface is easy to use."
"Bonita is simple and lightweight and is flexible to integrate with third-party systems. The UI is now flexible, whereas it was previously rigid. Any technology can be used as a frontend, including ReactJS, Angular, and others."
"This product is very easy-to-use and user-friendly."
"I find process management and user interface designing the most valuable features."
"Development of forms and flows."
"We use the tool to validate and give access to the users. It is for access management."
"The visibility – the diagrams you create – and then being able to automate based on them are valuable features. It's easy to explain and comprehend, and the integration aspects are valuable."
"EC2 makes scaling horizontally incredibly easy, especially when working under the ECS service."
"I like everything about the entire BPM that comes with the BPM suite."
"The most valuable features are that it's lightweight, can be embedded in existing Java code, and keeps track of the workflow state and the instances that we need."
"Camunda's most valuable feature is its ability to integrate with different products."
"The BPMN diagram is valuable. For our use case of transferring money from one account to another, the connections have to be done in the traditional financial ways. There are a lot of unexpected errors and a lot of instability with this kind of system, and we are using Camunda in order to have clear flows. With BPMN, I can show a flow to my business partner, and the business team can easily understand what's going on. The technical team can understand what the implementation is, and we can model different errors and the process for recovering from these errors."
"I've found the active community most valuable but it also provides you with a lot of other features."
"I can use any other tools to create services and the UI, and then use them together with the Camunda BPMN engine."

Cons

"The community edition has limited module functionality. If they could release some of the functionality that's available in the enterprise edition that would be helpful to those learning to use the solution."
"The interface is advanced and quite good, but it could improve."
"It is missing some important features that other products have."
"We are struggling a bit with integrations."
"I have run into a lot of problems because there is not enough documentation."
"Bonita can improve by offering more flexibility. The developer does not receive the code of the application to modify it. Most of the other solutions I have used allow the developers to change or improve the code that is generated."
"I would like to improve the product's load balancing."
"It would be nice to have a wizard to help walk through the development process and create a backbone."
"The cockpit features of the Camunda Platform can be improved to make it a bit more user-friendly, in terms of providing a bit more user experience for non-technical users. There could be some additional documentation added."
"It lacks some preset features and configurations which would make it more plug-and-play for customers."
"I have faced problems in bringing up the Cockpit in terms of GUI processes. I think that there is room for improvement in those areas."
"I would like to have a feature for audit logging, audit logs and audit log management. And some history of use for the audit logs."
"Initial setup can be quite complex."
"In the future, I would like to see better transactional integrity."
"The product must provide more videos and training materials."
"The initial setup can be complex for business users."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing cost for the Enterprise edition comes out to be around 40,000 a year. There is also a Community edition, which is free. Some customers can go for the Community edition, but some of them require the Enterprise edition. Big companies go for the Enterprise edition, which comes with a lot of additional features such as a mobile app."
"You pay an annual fee and can have an unlimited number of processes and users."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"We are using the Community Version, which can be used free of charge."
"have installed the image of Bonita BPM on Amazon AWS and there is just one option to use and pay for."
"I believe this is a very good financial choice."
"I am using the free version of Bonita."
"Price to service ratio with Bonita BPM is good."
"There were some features that were only available in the paid version."
"We are using the open-source version, free of charge. We didn't bother with the enterprise features."
"We pay for the license of this solution annually."
"When compared with the proprietary products, the pricing costs are much less, even though it is an enterprise edition."
"The price of the solution is reasonable."
"The most attractive feature of the product is that it is open source."
"The evaluation of my customers on pricing is that it is reasonable."
"We have an annual subscription to this solution."

One of the things we like best about Bonita is that you can create without coding - it is a low-code platform. With Bonita, you can build the entire mechanism using the GUI, it’s that simple. You can build workflows very quickly and the integrations are very good. They offer a community version, which can be used for free. However, the community edition of Bonita has very limited module functionality. If there was more functionality available from the enterprise edition, this would make Bonita an easier solution to learn. We have experienced some problems due to lack of documentation; more would be better, as would sample source code. Camunda allows for visual demonstration and presentation of business process flows. The flexible Java-based option was a big win for us and allows for the integration of microservices very quickly. This solution is very stable with a free open-source version that is very good. The automation of this solution is great. Camunda can be challenging in terms of initial setup. It seems to take a long time for completed workflows to be implemented on the Camunda Platform. The learning curve for this solution can be pretty steep. A mobile app would be a welcome enhancement to this solution. Process interfaces between diagrams could be improved and better template options would be welcomed. Conclusion After researching both these solutions closely, we chose the Camunda Platform. We feel Camunda is very stable, excellent at tracking bugs, and has a powerful BPMN engine. Camunda Platform is very developer-friendly and has helped us optimize our business process and achieve our productivity and profitability goals. We found Camunda Platform to be very portable. The cross-language capabilities support multiple frameworks and the number of client implementations make Camunda Platform very pluggable and a very good choice for us.
