Network Emulation allows for performance testing of geographically-distributed users.
It is a great performance testing tool. The most valuable feature of the tool is its Avatar technology. Scripting is really fast, compared to other tools. It works for almost all major protocols, platforms and browsers. It makes complex scenarios simple, and we need minimal custom coding. It also provides features for Network Emulation, which is quite helpful in testing the performance for geographically-distributed users. Appvance can provide information from end to end (back-end and front-end), which makes it surpass other tools. The tool provides protocol level as well as browser level response time. And it can be integrated with major monitoring tools. As it is a web-based tool, it makes it easy to access anywhere anytime. All the team members can access the common information easily.

Ensures high performance and adaptability while providing room for improved analytics and support
The analytics and reporting features can be improved, though they are good enough. If you have expertise, you can manage with what is included. However, it could be much better, especially with modern AI capabilities. When considering areas for improvement in OpenText Enterprise Performance Engineering (LoadRunner Enterprise), there is a need for automated analysis and code-level support.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"It is a great performance testing tool."
"LoadRunner Enterprise's price is high, but it gives more value for money than some cheaper alternatives."
"The return on investment is immeasurable."
"For me, LoadRunner stands out, especially with its reporting capabilities, the graphs that can be generated, and the unique feature of measuring our application's response alongside our infrastructure metrics, such as CPU, memory, or disk usage, all presented in graph form. This is something other applications struggle to match."
"It gives you a wide-ranging view on performance bottlenecks, from CPU to memory to network etc. This helps identify possible bottlenecks in the production environment, as well as the expected and unexpected loads."
"It does everything you could hope for in a performance testing solution."
"We have a centralized delivery team and we are able to meet enterprise requirements, which include different types of protocols that are involved, including scripting. The technology supports that and enables us to have a wider range of testing. Enterprise-level testing is something that we are satisfied with."
"The features I feel were most valuable were the reporting capabilities, the scheduling, and the ability to execute tests from anywhere."
"Probably its prime advantage, it provides a centralized location for testing."

Cons

"Reporting features can be improved to provide more flexibility, collation, exporting in different formats, etc."
"More real-time monitoring should be available for the system under test."
"The price is quite high. It also has expensive licenses, and product support."
"The trending reports do not always work as I would expect them to. Additionally, trending a test run can take over 30 minutes when it should take five."
"They had wanted to change the GUI to improve the look and feel. However, since that time, we see a lot of hanging issues."
"When you initially file a support case, it's difficult because they ask you many technical question to assess the problem."
"The response time for technical support is extremely slow. They are generally not well-versed."
"The solution is expensive."
"More features to support testing in DevOps environment(s)."
