Plenty of useful feature and reliable
We use Asigra for backups I have found all the features useful in the solution. I have been using Asigra for approximately two months. The solution is stable. The six people in our IT department are using the solution. The initial setup was a medium difficulty level. Some parts were complex…

High-speed backup and strong deduplication have supported secure long-term data protection
In my opinion, what can be improved about Veritas NetBackup Appliance includes licensing. A mixed licensing model would be more helpful, such as terabytes plus virtual machines, terabytes plus instances, or number of instances. I believe this could work and create a new competitive licensing model against other products. Additionally, embedding Enterprise Vault or some of its features in the backup software would enable better competition with Commvault, which offers backup and archiving from the same console. For the next release of Veritas NetBackup Appliance, I would like to see improvements in licensing, increased deduplication ratio, and enhanced high availability. Having high availability for Veritas NetBackup Appliance without requiring virtual storage like Cohesity would be important. Improving the overall high availability of Veritas NetBackup Appliance would be beneficial.

Pros

"The solution has been very stable."
"Simplicity, very easy to restore user data, means that we don't have to request off site tapes to be delivered to the office, can easily access the cloud data and restore most data within minutes."
"I have found all the features useful in the solution."
"Once you have Asigra, you are set, it’s a rock solid platform that works every time."
"Asigra is a cost effective solution and very competitive in the market."
"The Asigra product on the whole is a fantastic solution and I would highly recommend this as it delivers everything our business and our subsequent customers required."
"The cost is very reasonable; it's one of the cheapest options on the market, and any company can easily afford this product."
"Asigra's client-less approach is one of the best in the industry."
"We mainly use Windows for all our operating systems. Our databases are SQL databases. For backups, we set up one master server and three process servers. Our company isn't big, so this setup works well for us. We install the Veritas NetBackup Appliance agent on all the systems that need to be backed up."
"I like the fiber channel transport, and that the solution can make it a media server."
"In the end, however, you have a really stable solution."
"The tool's most valuable feature is recovery."
"I like the solution, it works well, the integration to the VMware environment is good, and the documentation is helpful and easy to follow."
"NetBackup is based on really good architectural hardware, and Veritas has the best backup and replication technology in the world."
"It is good for huge and complex enterprise environments, and at the end of the day, you get an ROI."
"Veritas NetBackup Appliance fairly covers our enterprise requirements and supports all our databases and operating systems."

Cons

"The setup and configuration of this product is quite complex."
"I think Asigra still needs to simplify their GUI."
"More integration with leading storage solutions."
"There are improvements required with the virtualization solution, I'm sure we will see a significant change in 2017."
"I wouldn't describe it as a scalable solution."
"The management could be a bit better."
"Personally speaking, I think the reporting should be more interactive."
"Some more work on reporting tools is required to help get better auto-generated information and analysis from the system."
"This solution is very expensive, which is a problem for many companies."
"The monitoring could be a bit better."
"Feature-wise, it is quite good, but it is very costly. Its price has gone up quite significantly over the years, and that makes people like us look at alternatives."
"The reporting feature can be improved. At the moment, we can't acquire the exact information we need from NetBackup."
"The product must improve its recovery features."
"This solution has to have better integration with the cloud, as well as with other solutions such as Business Intelligence products."
"The scalability isn't great. Every time you want to add storage, you can't just add a little bit, you need to add a lot."
