Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Suitable for a small-scale business but not evolved enough for a large enterprise
The best thing with that Jacada is that they are a repository builder, which we use for our assessment to gauge and match screens. Jacada has evolved, but I'm not using the latest version. Technically we use our internal product more, which is iAutomate. We also use UiPath and Automation Anywhere…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Since we can register multiple bot runners in one control room, and we can easily monitor and re-run bots when necessary, it is convenient for me."
"It improves accuracy and reduces manpower. It is easy to learn."
"The recorder capture tools, specifically the AISense Recorder and Universal Recorder, are valuable. We use these tools in almost every automation. These tools are very effective in capturing data from various applications. We can get data from a web page or an application."
"Courses on Automation Anywhere University are very easy to learn."
"It has changed our mindset, as people have started to think about automating things and come up with new perspectives, alternatives, or improvements by which automation can be implemented."
"It is easy to automate SAP by using Cloning and Metabot."
"Since our implementation, I can vouch for the fact that it is very easy to use. You do not need to know a lot of coding, even the business users, who have virtually no idea of coding, can easily operate it. They can run their bots and have the analysis ready for higher management. This is something which provides a great ease of use, and also in part why it is scalable."
"The digital worker is interesting."
"The best thing with Jacada is that they are a repository builder, which we use for our assessment to gauge and match screens."
"The initial setup was fairly straightforward."

Cons

"We've had some technical difficulties connecting, but that's more on our environment and how we have the machines and everything set up. It's not specific to Automation Anywhere. However, it's pricier than some of the other tools."
"The scripting can be a bit difficult."
"I have found that Automation Anywhere is prone to bugs in handling Excel. It breaks and gives vague error messages."
"We encountered issues during the upgrade of the framework."
"My opinion is that we need to have a video or tutorial on how to implement these features, as well as seeing what results to expect."
"I would like to use VB.NET native code inside of Automation Anywhere."
"Attended automation sometimes might go into exceptions, thus we need to monitor it in-between, then check whether it is working properly."
"For this, we tried to automate handwritten documents, but it was not successful. I believe there is room for improvement."
"When we first started using Jacada, the technical support was not good at all; however, they were just getting started then."
"They need to create a workflow system."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's somewhat pricier than some of the other tools that we've used, and the breakout between the different applications is also somewhat costly. If they can make it a little more cost-effective or bundle packages a little bit more, that would be beneficial."
"From my experience, I can say that the initial setup cost is easily recovered over a period of time once the bots start running in production."
"We were required to purchase licenses and bot runners, which determined the permissible run times for the bots."
"Based on what I've heard, it's costly, but I don't know much about its pricing."
"Despite being less expensive than UiPath, Automation Anywhere remains cost-prohibitive for many small and medium-sized businesses."
"Including the AWS setup and everything per license, it costs us around $10,000 on an annual basis. I believe that is pretty reasonable considering the teams that we have."
"Its usage is expensive for us because my user base is mostly in Manila and KL. The unit cost of labor is cheaper there than in the U.S. or Australia, which puts a bit more stress on how to get a positive ROI while continuing to use it."
"The licensing cost is approximately $4,000 USD, which is a seed license."
