Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Useful for vulnerability scanning and data encryption
AWS Config's dashboard improved our company's security as it helps with the vulnerability scanning of resources. AWS Config integrates with the existing security infrastructure of our company, and it is an easy process that is not at all complicated. AWS Config is a security product. The tool protects its users' resources and data from unauthorized access, security breaches, and threats. The product helps with data encryption. You can have your data on AWS KMS, which helps with data encryption. For areas like SSL/TLS encryption, the tool offers data protection between AWS services and endpoints. As I need to learn the components of the product, I rate the overall tool a seven out of ten.

Though the initial setup phase is straightforward, its stability needs to improve
The solution's initial setup is straightforward. The deployment process took me around ten minutes to fifteen minutes. I can do the configuration. Setting up Eureka Servers and all those things, it will take three-four hours. For deployment, you need to add Spring Cloud plugin to a manual, and then you can start to build, and it will be built. It is not complex, so it is very straightforward since one just needs to add the plugin. Spring Cloud is a component. It is not a, like, tool or software since it is a free cloud, for which a Eureka Server is needed for configuration. So, it is a dependency you need to add to your Maven. Then, you can work on that. So, it will not take much time for engineers to do that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to (somewhat) manage full Windows 10 computers including EXE-based or MSI-based application deployments using Azure Active Directory as Identity."
"With these improvements, I estimate we've reduced our patching costs by over $100,000 a month, as the MSP previously had to troubleshoot various issues manually."
"The security posture is very good. It's very customizable."
"Intune has significantly benefited our organization by providing comprehensive visibility into our device ecosystem."
"The central administration con dashboard is very easy to use and provides very good oversight on all that needs to be monitored."
"It works pretty well for us."
"The Autopilot feature is fantastic. It is a Microsoft product, so it deals best with Microsoft operating systems, but it can integrate with iOS, Mac OS, Linux, and Android."
"I like the group policy management feature, which performs application monitoring and device enrollment."
"The tool protects its users' resources and data from unauthorized access, security breaches, and threats."
"AWS Config's dashboard improved our company's security as it helps with the vulnerability scanning of resources."
"The initial setup is super easy, it takes like two minutes. Literally a one-click deployment."
"The scalability is a ten out of ten."
"The solution is scalable and provides over 100 rules."
"Installing the instances and performing upgrades is smooth and clean."
"Spring Cloud integrates well."
"It offers excellent scalability."
"The solution's initial setup is straightforward. The deployment process took me around ten minutes to fifteen minutes."

Cons

"The solution needs to improve reporting. Sometimes, it shows double or triple entries of the same thing, which affects the count's accuracy. Also, some applications onboarded in Microsoft Intune do not get updated. When we look for solutions online, there is often no clear answer."
"Microsoft Intune is not as fast and extensive as traditional solutions such as SCCM and others."
"A more incisive reporting tool with automated progress updates and graphical representation would be beneficial, as the current manual method lacks efficiency and visual clarity."
"Microsoft Intune could enhance its patch management for various devices, ensuring regular updates and tracking of device privileges."
"Areas for improvement in Intune include expanding support beyond Samsung devices to accommodate other Android manufacturers like Redmi and Motorola."
"While Intune works perfectly well, the only potential downside is that the deployment could be a bit complex for some users."
"Once it's configured it is unobtrusive, but it does take some hands-on to configure and deploy it properly."
"Intune could be improved by expanding its third-party patching capabilities for a more comprehensive solution."
"The solution is missing a configuration that can assist us when writing our programming languages."
"The reboot process for AWS instances could be improved. Microsoft Azure does not have this problem, so AWS could consider making their instances more robust. You would not need to reboot your instances frequently to replace the hardware and stuff. They can look for a better approach or mechanism to improve in the future. The concern is that you need to plan for the outage when you reboot an instance. You need to have a maintenance window where you can properly reboot the instance without affecting your application. When Amazon announces that you need to reboot an instance and are not ready, this becomes a problem."
"There is room for improvement in built-in tools, they are not up to the mark."
"Improvements are needed as per customer requirements."
"It would be beneficial for the framework to become more lightweight and efficient when transitioning to the cloud."
"Stability is one area in the solution that needs to improve."
"If there's a dashboard like the ones provided by Apigee or Kong, that will be useful."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The cost is somewhat on the higher side, particularly when considering certain price points, especially in markets like India."
"With one user base license, we can use Intune for up to five devices. However, with Soti MobiControl, each license is tied to a single device, meaning one license is dedicated to one device only."
"There is a license needed for this solution and it is either included in one of the enterprise license agreements. Microsoft licensing is a mathematical institute, it could be quite complex. We tend to ask specialized organizations to research what the most profitable way it would be for us to use licenses in the organizations."
"The E5 license is expensive."
"Licensing depends on how you are providing support to your enterprise, whether it's device-based or user-based."
"It's affordable. In comparison to the competitors, the price depends on what features you need from Intune, but it's affordable. There are no hidden costs, but there are some features that go for a premium price. Those are the add-ons for which you have to pay extra."
"Most of our clients come to us with licensing already in place. On average, it costs $6 per device per month to add Intune to an Office 365 subscription, but I am not sure."
"It comes as a bundle, so you do not really know what the prices are. Microsoft does not break it down to the user cost for us. It is just bundled with our E5 license."
"It is a very expensive tool. AWS pricing for Config is not fixed and depends on your organization's size and complexity."
"The solution charges us per hour. There's no license."
"Currently, we are not required to pay for licenses."
"It is an open-source or free version solution. It also has a paid version, but we have used the open-source version for now."
"Spring Cloud is an open-source solution."
