Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Has an easy to use interface but lacks features and customization options
The product could stand to be a bit more advanced. It's very simple. You don't have a lot of ability to customize properly. For example, it does not handle whitelisting properly. So, in general, it could offer more sophisticated control and more refined options to be able to customize it better. I would also like to see better version information in the changelog. The product doesn't tell you what's changed until it's too late. So, it would be nice to know what's changed between versions of the reports so you can see more easily what might cause a problem and what is probably innocuous.

Dashboard customization is needed for improvements. While the centralized management is strong, the dashboard could offer more flexibility. It would be helpful to tailor views for different roles, such as IT or security support. Regarding needed improvements, custom report building could be enhanced. Current reports are informative, and a drag-and-drop builder would allow teams to create tailored views for compliance, executive summaries, or operational metrics. For further improvements, enhancing threat simulation and testing would be valuable. Building a threat simulation tool and adding native capabilities to simulate phishing, malware, or ransomware scenarios will help teams validate protection and train users without relying on third-party tools.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We can use Cortex XDR to get the entire graph of the incidents from source to destination, and we can take remedial action."
"One of the main benefits of the solution is its intelligence to correlate the events into an incident."
"The tool is easy to use."
"Traps has drastically reduced our endpoint attack surface via advanced detection capabilities, sandboxing of never before seen programs, and by drastically limiting where executables can launch in the first place."
"The interface is easy to use and it is more up to date than our previous solution."
"The most valuable for us is the correlation feature."
"This software helps us understand any issues that may arise when someone is not at work."
"Traps is quite a stable product. Once it was properly deployed and configured, you have nothing to be worried about."
"Very easy to install and use."
"For a next-generation antivirus, this solution is pretty inexpensive."
"It has zero-day attack protection."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint has positively impacted our organization, and the ROI has been great."
"A unique feature with this product is that it will detect if the user is entering their password on a website, and then block it."
"We had a ransomware attack and the SandBlast agent automatically picked up the ransomware, automatically deleted it, and restored the encrypted files."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint has one of the most user-friendly dashboards I've seen."
"The most valuable feature of Check Point Harmony Endpoint is it can be used for all kinds of endpoints, including mobile phones."
"SandBlast Agent is always working in the background collecting sensitive data, forensics, and notifying users whenever there is a chance of a brute-force attack into our systems. Otherwise, it has been protecting our data at various geographies along with the endpoints that we set up on the cloud. They have been able to filter out or thwart any attacks from the very word, "Go," and make our work very safe and smooth."
"Harmony is better than Crowd Strike or any other similar solution in that class."

Cons

"There are some false positives. What our guys would have liked is that it would have been easier to manipulate as soon as they found a false positive that they knew was a false positive. How to do so was not obvious. Some people complained about it. The interface, the ESM, is not user-friendly."
"The complexity and confusion regarding product variants, such as XDR, Forexiant, and Forexon, must be addressed."
"Managing the product should be easier."
"The server sometimes stops continuously to check things so it would be helpful to receive access updates or technical reasons."
"Currently, we are monitoring all USB drives and ports but we would like to improve our device control capabilities."
"Data privacy is a matter of concern. You have to be careful with data privacy, it can be sensitive and Cortex can have most of your access."
"Traps doesn't work with McAfee. You need to remove McAfee to install Traps. This is very common, and its nothing that should be an issue. Some antivirus engines recognize Traps as an threat component, so maybe they need to shake hands somewhere."
"It automatically detects security issues. It should be able to protect our network devices while operating autonomously."
"It lacks more sophisticated features and opportunity for customization."
"The product could stand to be a bit more advanced. It's very simple."
"They need to add more and more features in the trial version and significantly reduce the pricing for the standard annual subscriptions for the benefit of all."
"Tech Support must be better."
"The product updates are a manual process for my administrator and can take several hours out of his day."
"It needs more documentation and better ease of deployment."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint can be improved as it is a bit clunky and not intuitive, especially when navigating around the more advanced settings or trying to interpret the logs, and the agent is resource intensive on some occasions."
"The agent's size is very heavy, so it could be reduced to a lighter version for Check Point Harmony Endpoint."
"Check Point should always focus on emerging business requirements and should always be working proactively in meeting the requirements of clientele and users in a timely manner."
"Inspecting HTTPS traffic requires enabling HTTPS inspection and threat emulation, which can be resource intensive, resulting in performance impact on legitimate traffic also."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's the most expensive solution, but features-wise, it's quite strong. It's very good for protection, so the results are very good in the case of protection. I would rate it a two out of ten in terms of pricing."
"I feel it is fairly priced."
"It's about $55 per license on a yearly basis."
"The return on investment is from the user side because we have seen the performance of it increase the delivery time of the product if we are using too many web-based and on-premise applications. In indirect ways, we saw the return of investment in terms of performance and user satisfaction increase."
"I did PoCs on products called Cylance and CrowdStrike. Although, I consider these products and they were also good, when it come to cost and budgetary factors, Traps has been proven to be better than the other two products. It is quite cost-effective and delivers all the entire solution which we require."
"The solution is expensive. It's pricing is on a yearly-basis."
"It has a yearly renewal."
"I don't have any issues with the pricing. We are satisfied with the price."
"It is an inexpensive when compared to other next-generation products."
"In comparison to other software solutions available on the market, it comes at a higher price point."
"In terms of licensing, have a buffer zone around your projects in terms of the amount of endpoints that you want to have. You can always have more, but it is best to leave room for a little increase or growth."
"Choosing the correct set of licenses is essential because, without the additional software blade licenses, the Check Point gateways are just a stateful firewall."
"Price-wise, the product is affordable. There are no additional costs apart from the licensing charges that are attached to the product."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"Check Point Antivirus is a good solution, but it's a little costly."
"The tool’s cost has increased by almost 300% in two years."
"There are three different licensing models including basic, advanced, and complete, and it needs to be selected according to the endpoint."
