Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Doesn't have daily updates, which is important for healthcare IT
I face challenges with the exclusion policy - it still scans folders we told it not to, causing issues. When we contact support, they tell us to update the latest agent, but we can't do that immediately due to medical device protocols and validation testing. I wish support would try to understand our issues better instead of giving this standard response. The machine learning feature they use often tells us to upgrade the agent or add things to the exclusion list, which isn't unacceptable. It's a very good and new technology as a tool and antivirus. But sometimes, it doesn't work properly with our medical devices and products, quarantining files it shouldn't even after we add them to exclusions. This is tricky for us.

Remote Access Security Reinforced with Real-Time Device Protection
Dashboard customization is needed for improvements. While the centralized management is strong, the dashboard could offer more flexibility. It would be helpful to tailor views for different roles, such as IT or security support. Regarding needed improvements, custom report building could be enhanced. Current reports are informative, and a drag-and-drop builder would allow teams to create tailored views for compliance, executive summaries, or operational metrics. For further improvements, enhancing threat simulation and testing would be valuable. Building a threat simulation tool and adding native capabilities to simulate phishing, malware, or ransomware scenarios will help teams validate protection and train users without relying on third-party tools.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution allows us to gain remote access without the user's knowledge and take the necessary actions on the device."
"I have found the solution to be very easy in respect of the integration and configurable."
"It has a higher cost than other solutions, like CrowdStrike or Microsoft’s EDR tools, but it reduces the cost of our operations because it’s a new generation antivirus tool."
"The solution doesn't need a high level of technical training."
"The stability of this product is very good."
"The most valuable features are incident creation, policy-based protection, IP whitelisting, and device encryption. These are beneficial for endpoint and server security."
"It detected stuff that other things wouldn't detect."
"The tool's use cases are relevant to security."
"One of the best features of the solution is that it's easy to deploy."
"I've found the AI engine in CylancePROTECT to be particularly effective for technology and in preventing unknown threats."
"The non-daily requirement to update signatures is the most valuable feature. From a functional point of view, it is pretty spot on. For instance, we compared an algorithm from five years ago to today's algorithm, and it was 98% accurate. It has the ability to detect and mitigate. In the industrial environment that we work in, there's what we call OT versus IT. You are IT Central, but this is OT. Generally, we don't have the same level of skillset as IT individuals or IT professionals have. This particular product doesn't require you to be a computer scientist to be able to understand its proprietary algorithm and to be able to deploy, use, and work within it. It integrates well with a robust SIEM or SOAR solution, and it plays nice with others. We use other detection solutions like CyberX or site provision with Cisco, and it plays nice. That's one of the things we really liked about it."
"You can manage all the threats and everything from a centralized dashboard."
"The solution does a good job of blocking whatever it thinks needs to be blocked and it doesn't require a lot of performance from the computer."
"I rate the tool a ten out of ten when it comes to the ease of use or management part."
"The solution’s AI is its most valuable feature."
"Very easy to deploy. It can be done one by one or deployed by customizing an MSI file for GPO push."
"Check Point offers a comprehensive solution that will not only create a firewall but will also protect the traffic of data from an application usage standpoint."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint has positively impacted my organization; we have significantly fewer false positives, it has reduced the number of confirmed infections we deal with, and it has given us better insight into endpoint activity so we now catch more threats at the point of entry."
"There's the possibility of being able to do the administration from the Check Point portal, maintaining control and visibility of the different security events at all times."
"Check Point Antivirus is capable of scanning files uploaded from the internet or running through the network via Check Point gateways/clusters."
"The forensics allows us to search retrospectively for an URL or file opened by users, for example, when you need to quickly check who else has clicked on a phishing link."
"Since implementing Check Point Harmony Endpoint, I have noticed a positive impact on our organization as we receive multiple detections of attack activities in the log section, showing how the solution protects our network."
"Its most valuable feature is the integration of analytics with the cloud."
"The SandBlast agent is the most valuable feature for Check Point Endpoint Security. We've found that the Check Point SandBlast agent is mature."

Cons

"A little bit more automation would be nice."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is a very good product, but financially, it is very expensive, so the company should look into that area."
"Technology evolves every day, so it would be nice if it gets more secure. It can also have more integration with other platforms."
"This product has not improved my organization - in fact, we are in the process of moving back to another product as a result of Cortex's horrible impact on system performance."
"There's room for improvement with Mac device installations, which can be challenging."
"Additionally, I think the price is very high, and if it can be adjusted, I believe it will be a very good solution."
"It'll help if customization was easier."
"It's more focused on network communication. If a customer wants to increase the level of protection and start working with documents, it's impossible to integrate these features into the system. It's more of a communication-oriented system than a content security-oriented system."
"For example, the interface and the Cylance Optics need to be improved a fair bit."
"I would like to see a little bit of additional reporting or insight as to what it is doing exactly."
"The solution needs better dashboards that are easier to use."
"It needs real analysis of quarantined files. The EDR product isn't showing much right now."
"The problem is, for me, sometimes it creeps into the computers and into the servers that we want to get running."
"The OPTICS component could be made more user-friendly with respect to giving people more information."
"It should have better support for Windows and Mac."
"For advanced security, I wouldn't."
"There are a number of features behind paywalls which can be frustrating when you are already paying a premium."
"The cases of false positives should substantially be reduced to the greatest extent to keep the efficiency excellent."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint can be improved by having the capability to integrate with other solutions, as no one has the complete Check Point solution, so integration with other OEMs would be beneficial."
"I'd also love to see them add full MDM support, but I appreciate that that's not the product market. If it did come in, I'd be more than happy to look at additional modules. It was probably one of the easiest products I've ever had to deploy it, but if it's not capable of doing MD, then that's going to impact its usefulness to us."
"Mobile users are reluctant to actually use the solution."
"The network monitoring features must be improved."
"Check Point Harmony Endpoint's GUI is old. It needs to have a modern dashboard for logging activities. Compared to other products, the solution is slow in terms of deep scanning."
"The SLA is slow."

"We went through a third party initially to do the renewal, but we won't be renewing, we will move on to something else."
"Currently, we have competitive pricing for Cylance, which is affordable enough to consider."
"The product cost is about $5, per user, per month."
"This cost of the license is approximately $5 USD monthly per user."

"In comparison to other software solutions available on the market, it comes at a higher price point."
"The price of Check Point Harmony Endpoint is comparable to SonicWall. The price could be a bit lower."
"We pay roughly 80,000 Swedish krona per year. When it comes to the firewall, it's roughly 150,000 Swedish krona yearly. There's also maintenance, of course, which is roughly 10,000 krona per month."
