Easy to use, immutable, and provides good deduplication features

When we wanted to back up our Microsoft environment, we looked for a cloud backup. Barracuda provided a cloud backup. There were no other products that offered similar features at that time. I will recommend the product to others. It is easy to use. It is a complete package. It is easy to integrate the product with Microsoft. We have a complete package that includes antispam and email gateway solutions. We can choose any package we want. We use Barracuda Essentials. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Having more control and having an option for backing up locally, even if you don't want to use it, would be something very good. If you lose connection to the internet or you lose access to your data in the cloud, having a backup copy of the latest data on your server is helpful. You need to be able to get access to your customers' files, especially with GDPR, where you need to know where your customers' details are. If they're in the cloud and you've lost access to them, then you'll go into those GDPR regulations. This is somewhere where both Barracuda and Veeam haven't gone as far. As far as I have understood, with Veeam, you can back up your local servers to the cloud but not vice versa. I haven't worked on it much."

"The restore time can be improved. The restore time for large quantities of folders is slow. Sometimes, if I'm doing a full recovery of a server, it takes multiple hours, which probably is natural. It might also be because of our internet speed to the cloud."

NetApp AltaVault solves issues related to backup, archival, and restoration. Compared to on-premises solutions, this software claims to be up to 90% less expensive while solving multiple issues related to data storage in the cloud. AltaVault presents three solutions to its customers: backup and recovery, cold storage and archives, and disaster recovery.

1. NetApp’s backup and recovery solution works with Kerne-Based Virtual Machine, Microsoft Hyper-V, and VMware vSphere, creating a solution for mid-sized businesses as well as for bigger companies that want to protect their offices in different locations. 2. NetApp AltaVault can be configured in cold storage mode and used for data that is not often used. The solution is scalable, thus allowing minimal costs for operating with cold data and allowing fast access to it at the same time.

3. AltaVault offers disaster recovery for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. Your data will be secured on the cloud, providing you with a secure backup if the need for disaster recovery arises.
