Effective real-time threat detection and reduced network congestion improves security posture
We are not currently using the automated patching or patch management. The security analytics feature, which could help us stay compliant with industry standards, hasn't been enabled yet. Currently running on-premise, we are considering moving to the cloud-based Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security because it offers more features compared to the on-premises version. We've experienced multiple failures during appliance upgrades, sometimes requiring us to resort to backup. Mobile and cloud features are currently missing in Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security. Operating from the primary site, we face challenges with the on-premises version when working from the DR site, which is why we want to move to the cloud for continuous protection during site failovers.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The installation is easy and it takes approximately a few hours. We are deploying it from a Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tool. All you need to do is click on it and the installation is complete."
"The fact that it is almost plug and play means the policies I have to define are not very complicated."
"We find the protection the solution provides valuable."
"The domain integrator functionality is particularly noteworthy, allowing me to leverage my existing network infrastructure."
"The most valuable features of Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security are remote administration and deployment, comprehensive firewall protection, malware protection, and antivirus."
"BitDefender has improved our security by protecting our endpoints and servers from viruses and exchange server attacks with its inbuilt on access scan feature."
"Bitdefender is also customizable and granular, but once you install it, it keeps running."
"I like its unified interface, which also helps you scan Outlook email, for example. Multiple products can be standardized across endpoints or the EDR solution, and the integrations with SIEMs."
"I like Sophos Virtualization Security's built-in antivirus and malware protection. The firewalls are pretty stable. It's just a matter of updating the virus signatures, and they're pretty good about providing those updates regularly."
"The SVM deployment has very good performance."
"Sophos Virtualization Security is very stable."
"I like Sophos Virtualization Security in particular the virtual appliances built-in antivirus and firewall security and threat protection equivalent to the hardware appliances."
"Technical support for this solution is nice and they have helped us."
"The most valuable features of the solution are VM security, VLP, and threat protection."
"Overall, I rate Sophos Virtualization Security a nine out of ten due to its ease of use, security, and customer support."
"Using this solution allows us to set up rule-based access control."

Cons

"The connection with the controller needs improvement. Some connections are currently unstable."
"Potential areas for improvement could be more accessible and immediate support for critical situations, especially considering the regulatory challenges in healthcare."
"I think it would be helpful if I could get a live console directly on the machine. Additionally, if I could run scripts on the machines to respond to any incidents, that would be a great feature."
"There are compatibility concerns as Bitdefender does not support Windows 7."
"The solution must be more user-friendly."
"There are issues with macOS or Linux, and the patch management should take care of apart from Windows, Apple and other operating systems."
"The firewall capabilities could benefit from an upgrade since it lacks a high level of granularity and control."
"It could be simplified a little bit for firewall rules and blocking specific IP addresses. It would be nice to have an option to upload a CSV or XLSX file of IP addresses to be blacklisted or to be able to specify a range as attempted logins from botnets and people attempting to access network accounts is an increasing issue across the board."
"In the virtual environment, the initial setup of Sophos Virtualization Security is not very straightforward and requires expertise, though in the physical environment, the installation is straightforward."
"The process of registering licenses for remote devices could be optimized as there have been instances where devices entered an unknown state."
"The solution would be improved if all of the advanced features were included in the SVM."
"I wish Sophos could offer the solution at a lower price, but I doubt they will."
"We are unable to reliably specify bandwidth limits for particular clients, which is something that needs to be improved."
"Sophos Virtualization Security requires more usage. For example, if you have a virtual service line of 100 nodes, you are unable to deploy them from the console to a particular environment."
"I would like to see some new features for improving the security part of the solution. The firewall should be worked on to catch up with security."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing costs can vary."
"It has very flexible licensing costs, and it's modular-based."
"In India, licensing is based on annual contracts. It's not extremely expensive, but not the cheapest either. I'd rate it somewhere around seven or eight out of ten."
"The tool is not expensive and pricing is competitive."
"We purchase the solution for three or five-year intervals. We paid approximately $150 for 10 to 15 users."
"In terms of the licensing costs associated with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security, the agreement was made nearly three years ago, but from what I recall, the figure was around €6,000 to €7,000 for three years, including support for two hundred endpoints."
"The price is fair."
"The product's pricing is okay and it is yearly."
"For virtualization security, the cost is approximately $50 USD per seat."
"Depending on the subscription, the price ranges from $700 to $1,000. There's a subscription for the antivirus and malware and another that includes web and email. So you might need that extended subscription if you were housing an email firewall. Otherwise, you pay a flat rate for the firewall. It's not based on the number of users."
