Secure file governance has improved collaboration and automation for client document workflows
The best features are around security, being able to set up different groups, and the governance features are really great. The new AI functionality that they released has been pretty handy. For governance and security, the audit trail capability is excellent. We are able to see when people interact or change files or if something was deleted, and we can go through and review that audit trail. The AI has been great for creating different workflows that we are able to execute. When a form gets submitted into Box - Intelligent Content Management or a file is uploaded, there are certain automations that we can put in place to where it can essentially generate tickets in our system for new users or other tasks.

The most valuable feature is the ability to create team spaces. Many users have requested a live-edit option for documents.
With many team members all around the world in different time zones, we found that working together in a structured space, rather than over email, was less chaotic. We also found that the information was better documented and organized in Igloo. To be specific: Many users have requested that Igloo implement a live-edit option for documents, such as Google Docs. This would improve the product because for now one has the option to reserve a document, edit it, and then upload an updated version meaning other team members have to wait for one person to be done before adding their contribution. If there were such a feature it would allow for more immediate direct collaboration between members of the community. However, Igloo keeps track of previous versions of the document so this feature is useful as well to see how collaboration progresses between team members.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"File sharing, authorization on the back, its ease of use and reliable uptime performance are valuable features of this solution."
"File/Folder collaboration has allowed our users to work together, eliminate silos and reduce unnecessary email."
"Most of the time, they are running a free 50GB for life promotion, which is a pretty good deal."
"For basic file storage and a little collaboration, the product is fine."
"File sharing for projects and other unique activities have been greatly enhanced."
"With us being an all Mac managed service provider, we find that the integration Box - Intelligent Content Management has with Finder is really good with the syncing, and it is probably one of the better file-sharing solutions when it comes to that, which is the big reason why we suggest it out to our clients."
"Box thinks of features before I realize I want them!"
"It is really easy to load files to and from this solution."
"It gives us the ability to create "spaces" for our schools."
"Igloo was the cheapest and had the best set of functions useful for our purposes."
"Customer Service: Excellent customer service, responsive, hand-holding if needed."

Cons

"Search function remove layers."
"The biggest friction point I have encountered with Box is mainly the pricing part; I think five dollars for this platform is not necessarily justified."
"I would like to see features for online collaboration between team members in the future, to open and see who is accessing the document now and see my movements across the document or the file we are sharing together."
"I recommend doing the trial first, because it's not cheap ware. It's not overly expensive, but it's not cheap ware, and enterprise has a minimum number of users."
"I truly believe that Box should have a box consulting division which would really enable customers who do not necessarily want to work with ISVs."
"Maturity of the enterprise security around user management."
"The security settings are such that if I have a folder with subfolders several levels deep, whatever security setting I have for the parent folder gets inherited at all the subfolders. This has been limiting."
"The Search functionality needs to be more robust and behave like Google Search."
"Hoping they include "the ability to communicate and have face time" within your own space."
"We had difficulties getting everyone to work with the online software so as to get the best out of it."
"I look forward to an update to their text editor."

"I'm in Higher Ed, so we purchase through Internet2-Net+. I absolutely recommend going that route for Higher Ed customers."
"Box's pricing is excellent."
"I have to pay for Box. It could be a little cheaper. On a scale from one to ten, I would give the pricing a five."

"The pricing may seem steep at first, but delve into the features and you'll soon realize it is incredible value for what you get."
