Cloud security has improved remote access and has reduced costs for smaller client sites
I have used Cloudflare One's Identity-Aware Proxy, and it is quite straightforward from what I have seen so far. The app registration on the Azure side integrates fully into Cloudflare, and I am very satisfied with that part because it is easy to set up. The integration of Cloudflare One's Secure Web Gateway and Zero Trust Network Access works without any issues. That part is pretty automatic, and if you complete the rest of the setup, it comes together by itself with no issues from my side. What makes it nice is that we can actually start replacing on-site firewalls at this stage for the smaller clients because it does not matter if they go to a coffee shop or work from home; they are still secured by the same connection. The hops get shorter and you get better latency. We have done testing to see if it is better. One thing that we did notice with our proof of concept with our current client is that they have people connecting from the UK. When they used their previous VPN solution, uploading CAD drawings and other files to the server took a long time. They mentioned that it is much quicker on Cloudflare One's solution. I definitely believe that is part of the improved performance, and I am satisfied with that as well. What is nice about Cloudflare One is that it makes the setup easier and also easier to train technicians to maintain it. Compared to legacy systems, we do not need to get fancy firewalls in place that are costly. That is definitely also a cost-saver with Cloudflare One.

Email security has blocked sophisticated phishing and now protects inboxes with AI detection
The only challenge with Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) is that it is an API-based solution. In an API-based solution, the major challenge is that it can read email content and Google Drive content. This presents a data privacy challenge, and we had to mitigate it by signing a Data Processing Agreement and other agreements. Because it is not a traditional in-line solution, Check Point Email Security (formerly Harmony Email & Collaboration) connects with Google Workspace using API permission and can access email, attachments, sender, recipient information, links, and all metadata is with Check Point. Data storage and everything else is with Check Point, which is the challenge. This solution has a drawback because of API deployment, while other solutions are traditional secure email gateways that are in-line solutions. In those solutions, we need to change the MX record, but with this solution we do not need to change the MX record, which is a pro of API-based deployment. However, there is also a con in that with API solutions, the email is scanned but after delivery in the mailbox.

Insider threats have been detected faster and internal data exposure is now controlled
Regarding how Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection can be improved, sometimes the tool is slightly laggy, wherein it would take some time for us to fetch the related logs from the Mimecast portal, and that of course can be improved. There could also be a graph or a kind of a graph where, if the organization has a smaller number of employees, it is fine, but if it has a large number of employees and different departments, then in that case, Mimecast could give us an AI suggestion upon how to improvise the current security posture, how we stand and where we can go up to in terms of implementing or tweaking the policies. As the organization's size gets bigger, it would also be better if Mimecast could provide some solutions upon how to segregate the users into groups and what groups can have which policies. Those kinds of features can be added. Regarding Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection's AI capabilities, I think its governance and security could improve as I am not entirely sure how it works. It would be helpful if Mimecast could, as the AI capabilities are in place, maintain a strict governance policy upon the data that is being processed, especially for user personally identifiable information. As insider risk management sometimes also gets into the personal details of the user, organizations might be hesitant; even we are also hesitant to use the AI capabilities. If Mimecast could provide more information about how they store the data and whether the agents are local agents or cloud-hosted agents, that would be of great help for the organizations to consider its AI capabilities while adhering to the compliance needs of a particular organization.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Cloudflare Access is a stable solution."
"Enables me to work from two locations."
"The solution has different options that can be used to differentiate DDoS attacks."
"The capabilities of the software are strong enough for me to do what it's supposed to do. For me, we don't need to do a lot of configuration on our site. We just enable it and monitor it."
"The best feature is rate limiting. If I'm expecting 500 visits per hour, Cloudflare will limit the requests if I suddenly get 50,000."
"The tool also offers good scalability, and the dashboard, along with real-time analytics, is very good."
"Sensitive business data is effectively protected from any third-party attacks that can easily destroy confidential information."
"The incorporated AI capabilities are particularly notable, functioning as AI versus AI, and it has protected us from various threats with a nice dashboard that shows if anything is missed by MS 365."
"Its total protection has been the greatest aspect since it completely protects all the mail from the cloud."
"The sanitization feature of Check Point Harmony Email and Collaboration is valuable."
"As with most of the other Check Point products, the CloudGuard SaaS has the advanced visibility of the events and alerts."
"Now, we're happy with this solution, as it's doing well."
"After analyzing the market, we opted for the CheckPoint SaaS solution to cover all of these needs, which has led to a considerable leap in the company's security."
"Checkpoint Harmony Email and Collaboration is one of the cloud solutions for email that has given us the most added value."
"Set-and-forget (but email reports are available) backup process."
"This is by far the best cloud-based backup solution."
"Code42 CrashPlan is by far the best data backup solution on the market."
"Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection's best features in my experience include user behavior analysis, the executive risk summary for stakeholders, the analysis tools available for engineers and technical people, and the responsiveness of support."
"We were using piecemeal procedures that failed more than it saved data."
"Customer Service: Exceptional Technical Support: Exceptional. Always get a native English speaker."
"The reason for us moving over to CrashPlan was cost and retention, as we saved the company $6000 a year using CrashPlan and no more "surprise, you are out of space" messages."
"In my opinion the CrashPlan solution is best of breed for a corporate data backup solution."

Cons

"The software has automated alerts, but the automated alerts are not available in the mobile app."
"Automation could be improved where you can easily add a TLS and SSL certificate to an application or web app if the developer did not include it."
"The pricing is an area that can be improved. Pricing, as far as I recall, was the source of our problems."
"Operating and tuning the product is difficult."
"Our customers no longer use Cloudflare because its service is subpar."
"Cloudflare One is not very powerful, but for what we require, it is basic and sufficient."
"I would like them to include a VPN feature to provide a secure connection to the data center."
"Feedback could be enhanced. While I work efficiently with Clover as a partner in Mexico City, sometimes the information and requests are easier to manage with more concrete solutions."
"They should consider a module that allows the customizing of reports so we can generate executive information for the client (to explain in simple language the general security situation in the SaaS environment)."
"Sometimes they do not provide immediate assistance, and it can take time for them to respond."
"Check Point must develop one mobile app for iPhone users, Android phone users, and Windows phone users or at least for the administrator to see that dashboard on that particular app."
"Check Point has to continue refining the intelligence engine to minimize the number of false positives."
"They could continue to offer more stringent security policy measures for threat point management."
"The implementation could definitely be better. We had great support from Check Point, but there were some "got-you" moments where we got surprises as we were setting it up."
"There is too much functionality, which makes it difficult to use. More guidance for users would be helpful."
"Expanding third-party integration would be beneficial. When I integrate with Microsoft 365, support for other platforms like Slack or Dropbox is limited."
"Even with the constant improvements coming quarterly, I would definitely appreciate the night mode in the administrator console to be brought back."
"The login screen for customers could be improved, I find that the white and grey could be hard to read for some customers depending on the brightness of their screens."
"I would rate Mimecast Insider Risk Management and Data Protection an eight out of ten because we need improvements in policies, and although I am not aware of other organizations' experiences, we are facing some lags, and there are points we must work on."
"The support documents, although very thorough, can take a long time to read through; I would often prefer a simplified version."
"There doesn't seem to be any feature that is lacking."
"Faster."
"I am waiting for them to develop an app that can be installed on a smartphone or tablet that backs up the data as it does for computers."
"If anything, make integrating cloud storage a little bit easier - I'd love to be able to choose the cloud I'm going to push to, but it's hard to find instructions for doing that."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing of the solution is cheap. The licensing cost is also very low. I rate the cost and pricing a three out of ten."
"The solution's pricing lacks transparency."
"The price tag is no longer $200,000, but rather $300,000 to $400,000. It's twice."
"The pricing is somewhere in the middle. I would rate the pricing a seven out of ten."
"The prices are slightly expensive."
"My company has to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution. There are no hidden charges apart from the licensing costs of the solution."
"Cloudflare Zero Trust Platform's pricing is good."
"The solution is not that expensive."
"As we are a non-profit organization, we got the tool with a good offer. On a yearly basis, we pay 10,000 Euro for 500 users, which also includes the technical support part."
"The product’s price is very high."
"Reasonable cost, quick and easy implementation, and transparent."
"The pricing is in the middle. Check Point's pricing is not the highest in the competitive market."
"The cost is similar to other competitors. It's not much higher."
"The pricing is expensive."
"The price is very good, based on what they deliver."
"Check Point is more expensive. That's the honest truth. So far, it's a good value for the money."
"They were the best solution and surprisingly enough, the cheapest."
"It was expensive. It was more expensive than Eureka, and it was more expensive than Barracuda Backup, but what we got was a full team. They didn't come in and nickel and dime us. They provided the assistance we needed. They didn't say that they need to charge us for something or it is going to take another statement of work. It was all bundled into it... We pay for the software maintenance. It is probably 18% or 20% of the license fee for rev releases."
"The pricing is reasonable. It's my understanding that the cost is about $7 for unlimited storage in the cloud per server."
"It is 100% worth the cost to get and keep the support, especially when setting it up."
"It used to be a good solution for SOHO in particular as it had unlimited storage for a reasonable price. However, their pricing model has changed and they are now primarily targeting enterprise users."
