Enables customers to manage security effortlessly with intuitive features and easy integration
In terms of improvements for Fortinet FortiGate, they could offer evaluation licenses, as compared to Meraki, which provides a 90-day evaluation. In Fortinet FortiGate, they do not provide standard evaluation licenses; instead, we need to request them from the OEM through the account manager for POCs. If we want to conduct a demo, we need to work with real hardware. In comparison to Cisco, we have DCloud, which helps with providing demos to customers, but in Meraki, I need to reach out to them, book a lab, and they need to provide all the hardware. I need remote access and L3 engineers to program it; only then can I offer a real-time demo to the customer.

Good intrusion prevention, firewall, and VPN capabilities
Check Point Power-1 (EOL) has reached the end of its useful life, yet at the time, they could to make some changes such as: * Integration in the cloud. It is the new trend, however, Check Point has already contemplated this and already has its own cloud device. * Automation. As the automatic creation and application of policies, this would have been very beneficial. * Multi-factor authentication would have been a plus in security at the time. They must also make some improvements in their support departments since they do not comply with the SLAs that they provide.

Automated breach prevention has protected critical workloads and keeps external attacks blocked
I am familiar with SonicWall TZ. I have done a POC of TZ but I have not worked extensively with it. I have worked with the 2600 firewall and then the 3600. These are the models which we have worked with.SonicWall NSa was an on-premises solution. The two firewalls which were in production, in the data center and on the LAN side, were both on-premises solutions. We had a pre-decided budget under which we would purchase the firewall. All parameters including security, high availability, and budget concerns were covered with SonicWall NSa being implemented at that time. SonicWall NSa is a user-friendly product that is easy to configure, and it is easy for network personnel and firewall administrators to work with. Even the L1 team captured and learned this firewall effectively, helping us resolve all parameters related to high availability firewalls within budget-friendly costs. I rate this review a nine out of ten.

Pros

"The detection is great."
"In terms of cost, features, and security, everything is top-notch."
"The price is pretty reasonable; it's not like Cisco or Palo Alto, which are more expensive."
"Fortinet FortiGate is a stable solution."
"I would rate FortiGate Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) as a solution a 10 out of 10."
"Good load balancing feature."
"When you start looking at the cost of the license for all the things that you get, Fortinet is by far the best option."
"Their reliability and their policy of pre-shipping replacements when a unit has failed."
"The VPN allows users to connect remotely and securely."
"In my opinion it is right product at enterprise level network to protect the user and server from external and internal threats and attacks"
"The solution was very stable; there were no bugs or glitches, it didn't crash or freeze, it was reliable, and there were no breaches."
"The tool's most valuable feature is application security. I am satisfied with its threat-prevention capabilities and have no issues with its incident response rate. We have no issues with its integration."
"Support is usually good when it comes to helping out with issues."
"Overall SonicWall NSa is a good solution for our use case."
"Anti-Spam reduces unwanted mail on corporate exchange services."
"The most valuable features are that it is reasonably-priced and works well."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the firewalling, which is very good and the GUI which is very intuitive. It is easy to use, and provides great security."
"The security is great, it has great performance, the prices are similar to other vendors and the support is good."

Cons

"A lack of integration between our data centers."
"At the moment, if you don't integrate any third-party solution with a simple Fortinet FortiGate box, the box would not function as expected for superb protection."
"Bandwidth usage in reporting could be improved for Fortinet FortiGate."
"I would like to see improvements in the support from Fortinet. Here in the Philippines, whenever we have problems with a Fortinet product, we mostly ask for support from distributors and resellers and not directly from Fortinet."
"I would like to see integration into other systems."
"Its reporting can be improved. Sometimes, I don't get proper reports."
"Fortinet FortiGate could improve by adding enhancements to FortiMail, FortiSOAR, and FortiDeceptor."
"For our organization, the initial setup was not straightforward. It was pretty complex."
"I have to pay Check Point for every new service I integrate in the firewall and it also has license related issue which needs to renew every years."
"Multi-factor authentication would have been a plus in security at the time."
"They should consider upgrading the capabilities within the GUI."
"The ongoing service fees are high."
"The reporting feature could be better because most of the companies want to have the analytics included, which is something that you have to buy separately."
"It would help us a lot of SonicWall sent us more information about the latest updates and things that are changing."
"I am not sure if SonicWall has finally addressed this issue but a major area for improvement would be being able to export the settings file in a non-binary readable and editable format."
"I would like to have a built-in vulnerability scanner in the firewall. It would be great to have such functionality."
"It would be useful to have an application firewall that prevents the outside world from seeing your private IPs. You don't need to publicize your private IPs to the outside world, and you can create a barrier, like a proxy server."
"At those times, the CPU spikes considerably, and due to that, the firewall response becomes slow."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing a six out of ten."

"When implemented properly, the total cost of operation is very low."
"It would be better if it has a better price, but its price is okay considering the benefits that you receive."
