Have streamlined network visibility and troubleshooting while seeing benefits from AI integration
In terms of improvements for Cisco Secure Network Analytics, from the implementation point of view, now that AI is in use, some other features need to be upgraded considering AI solutions. Proper management of the database is also important; it should be centralized for easier data collection from a single database. When precise manual analysis is needed, it's sometimes difficult, so having a centralized database will allow network admins to find actual scenarios more effectively, especially since some information may not be visible on the GUI. Cisco should upgrade their hardware part to run the database, because sometimes it cannot handle the load while all features are running in the network. The database management should indeed be centralized because while AI runs behind the systems, central management is essential. For example, in a network with 100 Cisco switches, a few routers, firewalls, and access points, all data generated should be preserved in a central database. This approach simplifies management and analysis for troubleshooting, as GUI interfaces may not always provide visible information. Centralizing the database will allow for better understanding of which information is preserved for each specific device.

Constant monitoring and analysis boosts network security
There is always room for improvement. I am not giving it a perfect score because I am sure there is something that could be enhanced.Having some sort of certification or training, along with more periodic webinars might be helpful. Having a larger support network would be beneficial. Nobody I know has heard of Lumu, so they are in the same space as Darktrace or CrowdStrike, but people give blank stares. As the community grows for Lumu then that will improve, but that is not really a criticism of Lumu, they simply have not been around that long.

Pros

"Stability is the most valuable feature we have seen in this solution."
"There's nothing like it and a dream to operate, very intuitive."
"It has definitely helped us improve our mean time to resolution on network issues."
"Most valuable features are the network maps and server and network response time."
"From what I understand, you can encrypt and unencrypt traffic moving in transit. This is one of the features that we liked about it."
"Able to drill down into a center's utilization, then create reports based on it."
"Most of the engineers I've worked with have been really good. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with."
"I value the feature which enables me to detect devices talking to suspect IPs."
"Lumu protects against threats immediately and handles them in time."
"It's been helpful for overall extended network visibility."
"Most of it is automated, so I do not have to watch it to get alerts."
"I like Lumu's simple user interface. When we deployed it, we got full access, allowing us to identify IP addresses on the network and connect machine names to users. It helped us identify and block threats via the firewall. I also appreciate the chat support and ticket closure process. We're currently reviewing network detection solutions, and my recommendations include Lumu, Sentinel, and a few others. Regarding functionality and user-friendliness, I would recommend Lumu over the others."
"Lumu has impacted my organization positively by providing continuous visibility into network compromise, allowing us to detect threats that were previously unnoticed, significantly reducing our mean time to detect and improving our ability to quickly validate and respond to incidents."
"The context provided by the tool is very complete, it includes the miter matrix, playbooks, links, hashes, and much more."
"The automated response to incidents works effectively out of the box, and the number of interfaces and platforms it can work with is impressive."
"The tool's support team helps partners resolve any problems with the product."

Cons

"It's not great as a standalone solution."
"Cisco should upgrade their hardware part to run the database, because sometimes it cannot handle the load while all features are running in the network."
"We've had problems with element licensing costs so scalability is a concern."
"Reliance on Java. Get away from that."
"I would like to see interoperability with other Cisco products because we have ThousandEyes, Cisco Prime, and others. The interaction among these is important to us."
"The solution should have the ability to analyze security events not only at the network layer but also at the application and OS layers."
"I would like Cisco to make it easier for the administrators to use it."
"I would like to see better filters."
"Lumu is solid for compromise detection, but there are a few areas where it could be improved, including deeper integration with SIEM and XDR, asset context enrichment, custom detection tuning, automated response capabilities, and reporting customization."
"The reports need improvement."
"The free version is minimal compared to the full version."
"Nothing so far needs to be improved."
"The integration with different vendors and endpoints could be improved."
"I am happy with the current features. However, one important one is to improve the reports."
"Lumu's ability to discover threats is an area of concern where improvements are needed."
"Having a larger support network would be beneficial. Nobody I know has heard of Lumu, so they are in the same space as Darktrace or CrowdStrike, but people give blank stares."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is an expensive product. We have quit paying for support because we don't want to have to upgrade it and keep paying for it."
"It is worth the cost."
"Pricing is much higher compared to other solutions."
"Our fees are approximately $3,000 USD."
"It has a subscription model. There is yearly support, and there is also three-year support. It depends on what the customers want."
"The yearly licensing cost is about $50,000."
"The tool is not cheaply priced."
"The pricing for this solution is good."
"The tool is available at a good price. The tool offers a good and competitive price for customers."
"It is the cheapest solution we found."
"Compared to Lumu, other solutions are more expensive. SentinelOne was a bit cheaper, and another provider's price structure is unclear, but Lumu fit our budget nicely. SentinelOne's cost depends on the number of devices, and it might be similar to Lumu's, depending on deployment."
