Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The platform's most effective feature is quickly recovering virtual instances into a separate environment."
"The customer service and support team are good."
"The most valuable features of Veeam Backup for Office 365 are the ease of use and instant back and restore."
"We have backups for Microsoft 365 because it is in the account of the complete tenant compromise. If we lose access to a tenant or all of the client's data gets Microsoft 365, and they lose access to all of their emails, OneDrive, and Teams data, then at least we have an off-site copy that is not linked to their Microsoft side of things."
"The most beneficial thing is that it is admin-friendly, with no complicated menu structure, and it is straightforward when it comes to doing a backup or a restore."
"The solution helps reduce our workload."
"The solution is easy to use; it's very simple and clients find it very easy to find all objects and things they need with the Veeam Explorer."
"The product offers good stability."
"The installation process is very easy."

Cons

"They could add more intelligence features in the workflow through automation."
"The installation could always be a little bit easier."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by adding more features with Microsoft Teams. We have many files that we are working on with Microsoft Teams and there should be more integration and features."
"This is a cloud solution, and the speed can be slow sometimes."
"We would like to have a single management console for all of our backups."
"The solution could improve scalability, both in terms of more storage and users."
"Microsoft currently saves only two months of conversation history, and it would be better if Veeam could focus on backing up more than two months of conversation data."
"In the next release, it should have direct export to tape drive abilities and NDMP support."
"I have not really seen an ROI from Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365. On the customer side, we don't really see the ROI."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The additional cost is cloud storage, which the public cloud provider charges."
"The cost of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is $19 for one mailbox."
"I'm not sure about the price, but I think it could be lower."
"I have a per-user license for the number of users and the mailboxes that I have."
