Secures critical infrastructures with essential user session audit records
A potential area for improvement is enhancing support for cluster environments and distributed Vaults. Clients in multiple countries that need central access have different challenges that require better solutions from CyberArk. For financial services, CyberArk can improve incident response by ensuring fast support for critical priority tickets to meet compliance requirements. Providing more documentation on CyberArk is recommended for new team members to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities. I understand it's up to the client, but 99% fail to change the demo key, so it's crucial for CyberArk to emphasize changing the key and documenting it as part of the installation process.

Affordable, easy to use, and integrates well with Active Directory
The product and service are already great as it is but if I could add one feature, I guess it would be nice to have another factor of authentication (two additional factors) like your phone and a token for example, for when people forget their phone at home. It’s not that I mind not having two factors, but I do get that question from time to time from some of our users who think it would be really useful. From what I’ve heard, they’re working on it and it should be coming in the next version so that’s great news.

Pros

"The feature that I like the most is the Privileged Session Manager."
"The password rotation and cyber gateway have been quite useful."
"With CyberArk, you can be fully confident that your existing accounts are secure. You will be 100 percent"

"The most valuable features are two-factor authentication and real-time logon monitoring."

Cons

"Based on the user experience that I see on a day-to-day basis, some changes could be made to the Privileged Session Manager tool to make it more user-friendly. The user interface of that tool could be more advanced and understandable to laymen, rather than being more of a developer tool."
"The architecture needs to be improved."
"It's not a cheap application. It's very expensive."
"As they grow, the technical support is having growing pains. One of the things is just being able to get somebody on the phone sometimes."
"We require IAM (identify and access management) capability at the administrator level because we need more identification."
"The greatest area of improvement is with the user interface of the Password Vault Web Access component."
"I think having a distributed architecture would certainly help this solution."
"The initial setup can get complex."
"The product and service are already great as it is but if I could add one feature, I guess it would be nice to have another factor of authentication (two additional factors) like your phone and a token for example, for when people forget their phone at home."
"I would like to see UserLock add the ability to automatically create a group policy in Active Directory. That might streamline the setup process."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing is a problem. CyberArk is expensive compared to other products I know. It is similar to buying a German car. It comes with all the bells and whistles, but some companies may find it too expensive."
"With reducing the privileged account access, there has been a huge improvement. They are now bringing more accounts on a little at a time."
"I focus more on the technical side, but I hear customers say that if CyberArk was more affordable, they might have acquired more licenses. Some clients consider alternative solutions due to pricing concerns."
"It is in line with its competitors, but all such solutions cost too much money."
"My company always complains about the cost of CyberArk Privileged Access Manager because it's too high."
"Network and security licenses are currently being managed by other outsource vendors, so they are facing some type of problems in the digital aspect."
"I do not have any opinions to add about the pricing of the product."
"This solution is expensive."
"You will be hard-pressed to find better pricing."
