Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Effective risk response, easy deployment, and enhanced security
They use Datto EDR as part of the solutions that we supply Datto EDR has helped reduce overall security incident costs by fifteen percent. The ease of deployment has been good, and the responsiveness of the application to risks has been quite effective. The inclusion of web filtering would be…

Centralized endpoint control has strengthened defense in depth across our distributed branches
When considering features or capabilities of Kaspersky Next EDR Foundations that I have found most valuable, it appears similar to other vendors, and I don't find a unique feature in it as it looks comparable to any other EDR solution. However, we purchased it because we have had Kaspersky Endpoint for 10 years, so it has fantastic integration between EDR and the endpoint. Additionally, Kaspersky is one of the famous leaders in endpoint protection in the world. The centralized management console of Kaspersky Next EDR Foundations has helped me streamline my security protocols significantly. This helps me a great deal because we are a large enterprise and we need centralization. It simplifies operations for us. We have many branches around Cairo, which is the capital of Egypt, and because we need centralization, we cannot perform our tasks without it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If you are looking for security, mainly for advanced threat prevention from ransomware and malware attacks, I would recommend Cortex."
"I've found the solution to be highly scalable for enterprises."
"It has pretty much everything we need and works well within the Palo Alto ecosystem."
"Traps has drastically reduced our endpoint attack surface via advanced detection capabilities, sandboxing of never before seen programs, and by drastically limiting where executables can launch in the first place."
"I like that the product has behavior-based detection which offers many benefits over signature-based detection."
"I generally believe that Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is probably the best in the market right now."
"It's very stable. I've never experienced downtime for the ASM console or ASM core."
"After deploying Traps, we saw the performance of the network improve by 65 to 70 percent."
"The insight that the solution provides is the most valuable aspect. The security scanning they do is excellent."
"The ease of deployment has been good."
"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is a perfect product for endpoint security."
"The most valuable feature of Datto EDR is the visibility of the endpoints."
"We had the cloud suite of KasperskyEndpoint Security Cloud, and its monitoring was fine."
"Kaspersky has a Cloud Discovery feature. There is no template in Kaspersky. They provide a temporary risk assessment of the cloud services. For example, if we want to block public storage services like OneDrive or Google Drive, we need to specify each individually. The main difference is that Kaspersky's process takes more time because it requires individual input."
"In terms of software performance, it has been effective in providing good security."
"The standout features of Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud include its cloud-based console and the simplicity of managing endpoints."
"It is a powerful tool for zero-day attack prevention."
"I would say that Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud is one of the best, very effective software because of its vulnerability assessment and threat assessments."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud is a very good solution for endpoint protection."
"I find the EDR service valuable as it adds extra protection and provides a centralized view."

Cons

"Traps doesn't work with McAfee. You need to remove McAfee to install Traps. This is very common, and its nothing that should be an issue. Some antivirus engines recognize Traps as an threat component, so maybe they need to shake hands somewhere."
"It would be better if they could educate the customers more. Some sort of seminars and roadshows will help educate the customers and show what the product can do. The price could be better. It would also help if they had a team for deployment and support."
"It automatically detects security issues. It should be able to protect our network devices while operating autonomously."
"The solution lacks real-time, on-demand antivirus."
"There are some default policies which sometimes affect our applications and cause them to run around."
"This product has not improved my organization - in fact, we are in the process of moving back to another product as a result of Cortex's horrible impact on system performance."
"There's room for improvement with Mac device installations, which can be challenging."
"I would like to see some additional features related to email protection included."
"The deployment of the solution right now is terrible. We find it to be very bad. It could be improved enormously."
"The solution could improve by having more deployment methods."
"The solution should allow the automation of playbooks."
"The inclusion of web filtering would be good."
"The solution’s stability could be improved because we earlier faced an issue where the solution was not detecting file-less malware."
"Its high CPU usage also slows down devices, particularly those with lower specifications like Core i3."
"Sometimes, the tool consumes a lot of resources from the endpoints, making it an area of concern where improvements are required since it currently consumes a little bit of RAM."
"Recent upgrades have occurred, but some customers question why certain options are disabled."
"Kaspersky's global ranking has been on the decline."
"Recently, there was a company which was attacked by phishing emails, and out of 10, it was only blocking three emails."
"Kaspersky Next EDR Foundations could be improved if it depended more on artificial intelligence, as other vendors such as CrowdStrike do."
"Certain shortcomings in the anti-ransomware part of the solution need improvement. XDR and MDR, along with threat hunting, a big step in cybersecurity today, need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's the most expensive solution, but features-wise, it's quite strong. It's very good for protection, so the results are very good in the case of protection. I would rate it a two out of ten in terms of pricing."
"The cost of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is $55 to $90 USD per endpoint per month."
"The price of the product is not very economical."
"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"The pricing seems fair, and I do like the licensing model. You use wherever they are, and it is elastic."
"Our customers have expressed that the price is high."
"We didn't have to pay any additional fee for the cloud instance. It just came with the renewal, which was nice."
"This is an expensive solution."
"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is not an expensive solution."
"There is an annual license to use this solution. The price of the solution can be expensive depending on the company."
"I find Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud more accessible in terms of pricing."
"The product’s price is flexible."
"The pricing is favorable, and there are no additional expenses associated with using the product."
"The product is averagely priced."
"The platform is expensive."
"We had to pay an annual licensing fee for KasperskyEndpoint Security Cloud."
"The solution is reasonably priced."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud is a cost-effective solution."
