Rapid development has boosted our projects but complex interface still needs improvement
The best features Dell APEX offers include massive and fast development and massive scalability. It also has an Instant On feature. We can initially pay, and Dell installs more hardware into our systems. We also love the 14-day guarantee period because some companies will not offer it. If we do not want it, we can directly get out of it. They also have a tool called APEX Navigator. We can add more storage power to the computer. The Instant On feature has helped my team significantly because Dell will install more hardware on the system that we are using than what we actually pay for, and when we get a sudden spike in traffic, it automatically auto-scales things, so nothing will break or anything else. APEX Navigator works for us by allowing us to directly navigate to it whenever we want more storage or more computer power, so with a single click, we can do it, adding storage to your phone or changing the RAM, ROM, or something else.

Flexible monthly infrastructure has simplified management and improved client cost control
Some valuable points about HPE GreenLake are that it is a managed solution in the same pane of glass. HPE GreenLake integrates well with the existing infrastructure, and it is straightforward. HPE GreenLake positively impacts my organization because it saves money and time, and it improves my sales because I have another solution to reduce costs for the client. The client may need to pay two thousand dollars to change every infrastructure in one payment, but not all clients have the total amount available. However, if it is possible to pay month-to-month for the solution, it is much easier for the client to accept the proposal. HPE GreenLake's real-time monitoring tools are good, and I really need them to improve the services.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features of the solution are that the support is really good and the deployment is really easy."
"Dell APEX has positively impacted my organization by enabling massive and fast development, and we are not worrying about scalability right now."
"Instead of having to purchase a server and implement it, we subscribe to Dell APEX and everything is handled by the Dell team, which is a very easy and efficient process."
"I found this product to be beneficial due to its consumption model, which allows businesses to acquire infrastructure that supports peak demand scenarios while only paying for what is used."
"I would suggest that people use Dell APEX because it is very good and scalable for that purpose, promoting company growth."
"The most valuable feature of Dell APEX for us is data availability, ensuring data resiliency and offering protection in case of data loss."
"The major benefits that Dell APEX provides for me are cost-effectiveness and data security."
"We measured the infrastructure cost reduction by using Dell APEX to dynamically scale our back end and storage during campus drives, which helped us manage traffic that was three times the initial load without any downtime."
"It is the flexible way to pay for everything that you need and pay as you go."
"It has brought newer technology in more quickly, with a lower risk of failure, helped us plan better, enabled extensive virtualization so we can bring in less gear to accomplish the same things, and made our infrastructure more consistent by keeping hardware generations closer together."
"We have a service and cost model based on utilization for specific KPIs, measured by memory and storage, with no costs for CPU consumption. This approach has allowed us to manage and optimize utilization and consumption effectively."
"The fact that we can now add storage on the fly without any downtime means better productivity and scalability on demand."
"My clients are receiving a return on investment, this is why they are using it."
"It sort of lines up with our direction to move to the cloud. By using a hybrid cloud service to get us there, this allows us to run our legacy workloads on-premise. Those which are not really suited to a proper cloud."
"The solution integrates well with Dell, Cisco switches, or other switches."
"The biggest thing that it gives us is reportability; that's the critical component. By giving us a monthly bill that is expandable based on usage, we're able to report back to the organization on the value that we're actually getting out of the hardware platform."

Cons

"They all need to work on their pricing because you always want to get more for less."
"Pricing-wise, it can be a bit costly because at times it allocates more resources than necessary, which increases costs."
"I believe the price should be lower as there are many products available now."
"Dell APEX needs a dedicated support channel to raise support tickets easily."
"In Latin America, they need to add more services to complement the solution and provide more options for managing the environment as some customers prefer not having responsibility for infrastructure."
"There needs to be some improvement in the response time of the tool's support team."
"I believe Dell APEX can be improved because it is very complex for people who do not know it or are very new to it, so they need to simplify their UI or UX."
"I am still struggling with monitoring, particularly with OpsRamp, which is not fully customized to our needs, especially for disaster recovery."
"The time to receive a price when I am going to a proposal is too long."
"In the GreenLake portal, I would really like to see more granularity in the costing model."
"I would really like to see more granularity in the costing model. That's the one limitation that we do have: We have a lot of departments. We want to be able to break down, in a granular way, that this department is using X amount of resources, that department is using Y amount of resources... I want to be able to tag it and say, "This is this department's fees, this is that department's fees." That way I could charge back internally to my own departments."
"I think the solution has cost us money. It hasn't decreased the time it takes to deploy IT projects."
"The interconnects were a challenge originally, but they sorted that out, and It was fine. We did have to spend a bit more money."
"Because VMware is very expensive right now, offering another solution for a hypervisor from HP at a much lower cost of six hundred dollars a year is really awesome."
"Part of the integration, with cutting things over to Unisys, may have hurt us a bit."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Right now, I don't have the details of the tool's cost, but the price depends on the size of the company and what kind of services you want from the solution. There are some additional costs attached to the tool."
"If you are looking to turn some of your capital expense into operational expense, this allows you to do it. It is a good idea."
"It is significantly less expensive than going to cloud for development... Our cost is approximately $25,000 a month."
"HPE GreenLake payment model is you pay for what you use. You can purchase a yearly, quarterly, or half-year license. The overall price of the solution is a little high and hopeful there can be better margins in the future."
"HPE GreenLake has been growing in popularity due to its subscription model. The flexibility of the solution allows it to adapt to the changing market trends towards more edge performance and workloads."
"We have reduced a lot of our VMware licensing costs."
"The price could be more flexible."
"It's a small cost per month compared to that one-time purchase. The big thing is if you get your one-time purchase wrong, then you are buying a lot more. With GreenLake, if we miss estimate (which with all the planning, you usually don't), we sign a piece of paper, and then they send more equipment in."
"Our first year costs were approximately $1.2 million instead of spending five to six million dollars."
