Resilience has supported proactive management and secured audit readiness across multiple sites
The resilience in Dell PowerStore benefits my company from an auditing perspective because we know we have that resilience in place. I see Dell PowerStore playing a bigger role in the future because we are starting to use it more, and that is pushing it. The biggest return on investment for me when using Dell PowerStore is scalability. Scalability is key. I can amplify that scalability is the biggest return on investment because we have redundancy between two sites; if something goes down, we have to manage it, but we want to do it proactively.

Ability to interact with teachers in real-time and manage lessons after class
The deployment process is very fast. We have prepared the product to be easily installed, and we have had successful cases where it could be implemented in less than a few weeks. Moreover, Around three or four people in a call center are involved in maintaining the solution. We have a project manager, a service manager, and at least two or three system analysts who handle the maintenance. If there are any issues, we can open a support ticket for them to address.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For the moment, our evaluation of Dell PowerStore is really good; there are no production incidents, it is perfect for us, and Dell PowerStore is well designed for our active-active multi–data center solution."
"It is easy to use and easy to understand when it comes to the management capabilities of Dell PowerStore."
"I have seen some return on investment. Since we were refreshing our infrastructure, the return on investment has been that I am able to concentrate my time on high-level items rather than small-level items that come from the aging infrastructure that we had before."
"The beauty is the simplicity - customers can manage multiple workloads from a single dashboard with scale-out architecture."
"Dell PowerStore is an enterprise-graded device that is easily scalable and easily integrated into your ecosystem and provides metro cluster as one of the key features I would consider in any storage system."
"With Dell PowerStore, we have achieved twenty percent savings compared to the previous solution."
"Dell PowerStore has positively impacted my organization as it has allowed us to more clearly define the storage needs of each individual process or VM."
"The biggest return on investment for me when using Dell PowerStore is scalability; scalability is key, and I can amplify that by saying we have redundancy between two sites—if something goes down, we have to manage it, but we want to do it proactively."
"The tool's most valuable features for us are its combination of formatting, ETL, analytics, and storage capabilities."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to interact with teachers in real-time and manage lessons after class."

Cons

"The only weirdness is we have a 7920 that trying to get into with the password is just not the same as the other enterprise models will have it."
"The interface of Dell PowerStore reminds me of the Cisco mentality where it's just boxes moving around as you're clicking; it's not easy to understand what you're trying to do, and you have to have solid documentation to navigate the system and make changes to ensure you're not jeopardizing your system as you present and remove storage and expand LUNs."
"The initial setup was a little bit cumbersome."
"I would rate Dell PowerStore seven or eight out of ten. There are always areas for improvement, which I mentioned earlier."
"I had specific troubles with vulnerabilities in Dell PowerStore. There are many vulnerabilities that we cannot mitigate related to the administration interface."
"Dell PowerStore is a really great device. A potential area for improvement could be a little bit more deduplication."
"One thing they need to work on is creating an app sync or the Metro Cluster functionality. Currently, it requires a different hop as we have to add multiple switches to build that functionality for replication from one data center to another. If that could be bundled in a base Dell PowerStore by default, it would be great."
"While transferring data from NetApp initially posed some challenges, we have faced none since the deployment and configuration of Dell PowerStore."
"The solution is expensive. For future releases, it would be beneficial if Kovair Data Lake could enhance its ETL and data capabilities."
"Maybe the chat conversation feature could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Dell PowerStore has been priced aggressively, especially when compared to other NVMe storage options. It is likely one of the most cost-effective options for organizations seeking a pure NVMe play in terms of pricing."
"There's still a cap on the upgrade path, where you can consume all the engines within the frame before you have to go to another frame... Normally, we exceed the IOPS on the frames before we can ever exhaust the storage, so anything they can do to help us avoid stranded storage capacity, capacity that we couldn't get to, would be beneficial."
"The pricing structure and licensing model of Dell PowerStore are very good and I like it. We chose it because it was reasonably priced and met our requirements"
"The price of Dell EMC PowerStore could be better, it is a bit expensive."
"The price is high compared to the Tunisian market."
"The price is not cheap, but it's worth it for the features you get from the storage. If you can afford it, you are probably buying the best solution that you can have for this virtual environment."
"The solution’s pricing is always too high."
"The pricing is good. There's no need to pay for a license; it's all-inclusive."
"I rate the tool's pricing a five out of ten."
