Dropbox Business Enterprise and Nasuni compete in the cloud storage and file management space, each catering to different storage and data management needs. Based on the comparison, Nasuni holds the upper hand for enterprises requiring large-scale management due to its unlimited file storage and robust data protection capabilities.
Features: Dropbox Business Enterprise provides seamless sync, cloud storage, and various pricing plans tailored to storage needs. Its key features include ease of use across devices, reliable performance, and strong collaboration capabilities. Nasuni excels in providing solutions for unlimited file storage, disaster recovery, and continuous file versioning, making it ideal for large enterprises needing expansive file management.
Room for Improvement: Dropbox Business Enterprise could improve in areas such as file sharing accessibility, enhancing security, and offering more competitive pricing for its higher tiers. Nasuni, on the other hand, could benefit from improving performance with small files, simplifying initial setups, and enhancing monitoring and reporting for better visibility.
Ease of Deployment and Customer Service: Dropbox Business Enterprise is praised for its user-friendliness in public and hybrid cloud deployments, though customer support interactions are infrequent. Nasuni, used in hybrid and on-premises configurations, offers deployment flexibility but faces challenges in initial configurations. Customer service is satisfactory; however, data migration and responsiveness are noted as areas for potential enhancement.
Pricing and ROI: Dropbox Business Enterprise provides flexible pricing with free and premium tiers, appealing to smaller businesses, although its larger capacity pricing is seen as less competitive. Nasuni offers per-terabyte pricing and additional cloud storage fees, justifying its higher cost with substantial ROI through robust features and suitability for large-scale data management.
Dropbox offers 24-hour support, both through chat and limited hour calls.
We provide the support ourselves and do not have any support straight from Dropbox.
I really have not hit many brick walls where I have had to ask for customer support.
I rated the scalability as seven because even though the solution can scale, load balancing must be done manually, as it's not automated.
Sharing documents with other people in the same division or department and being able to work without downloading the file would be ideal.
For example, our company is not allowed to use Google because Google is not a secure cloud service in the estimation of our IT department.
One area of improvement would be to allow multiple users to edit a file simultaneously and see edits in real time, similar to OneDrive.
I suggest Nasuni improve their syslog forwarders to support TCP protocol, as it's more secure than UDP, which is plain text and not protected at all.
I prefer solutions with lower pricing.
It also features an admin console where we can easily manage users, see which user has access to which content, and how much space they are consuming.
I do enjoy the family sharing plan, so my entire family can use my one plan and my data storage, and we can have shared files or private areas for their own files.
The features I find most valuable in Nasuni are the unlimited snapshots, antivirus capabilities, auditing, and ransomware protection.
