Installation and integration are areas that are quite easy to manage
With ERPNext, some business challenges will definitely be there. So far, my company has seen that it cannot go for bigger enterprise models, like SAP. With SAP, it is a completely different game, whereas for the SMEs having almost 100 to 500 users, ERPNext can be a good tool. With ERPNext, there can be some challenges in the case of business or routing. The tool is suitable if you have a multi-cloud environment in your company or if there is some company that prefers to be branded as an enterprise business. As there are so many third-party integrations, depending on third-party applications, all those. You know? I mean, you have so many CRM models, but the thing is that with the ERP ERPNext CRM, you can't compare it with Salesforce. For the SME sector, the tool is good. The tool's features are developed for a bigger network. It will take a little bit of time, but as of now, we can see that the tool is good for the SME sector. The tool has not come up with anything for some specific domains, like construction domains. Right now, it is a big challenge to use the tool in the education domain, but right now, the product has resolved it. Many people use the tool since it has a larger network. The tool keeps developing, and it will take time to develop. For the education domain, the tool will have to come up with LMS features and transportation, which make up for small challenges.

Areas of SAP S_4HANA that could be improved or enhanced include the evolving aspects of the application over time. There are other SAP applications such as SuccessFactors and Ariba that integrate with SAP S_4HANA. In recent years, SAP introduced an addition called RISE with SAP, which allows companies to use cloud solutions instead of requiring their own premises hardware. SAP partners with cloud providers such as Azure, Amazon, and Google, assisting companies in migrating from hardware to cloud solutions. A challenge that arises is the lack of immediate expertise when raising tickets for problem resolution with SAP, leading to delays. We have asked SAP to improve this area to provide users with better benefits from the cloud solution, as we encounter this issue frequently.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is a very user-friendly tool that is customizable based on the business environment."
"It is a stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...I rate the product's initial setup a nine on a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult, and ten is easy."
"The user experience is quite attractive, and maybe the efficiency around the consolidation part as well."
"In SAP S/4HANA, an interesting feature is the quality inspection and delivery process within the ERP system. For instance, if there is a delivery for a project part that requires quality inspection and receives feedback from the customer, this can be recorded through the mobile application. The responsible person can visit the site, open the system using the mobile app, and add remarks and notes directly into the system without the need for paper or extensive communication."
"The core accounting model is robust, so we don't have any issues with it. It has industry-specialized modules like retail, hospitality, and manufacturing. Many industrial-specific modules are very helpful. It's a very robust, reliable, and simple-to-use product. In my experience, it's straightforward."
"I have found SAP S4HANA to be scalable."
"The product rating is ten out of ten."
"The ability to optimize performance by allowing both data transactions and analytics on a single platform is particularly valuable."
"It is a stable solution."
"It's a stable product; there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's reliable with good performance."

Cons

"The look, feel, and color are areas in ERPNext that can be improved."
"The tool has not come up with anything for some specific domains, like construction domains."
"The licensing of SAP S/4HANA needs to be improved"
"SAP S/4HANA is an expensive solution."
"The disadvantages of this product include the lack of integration with platforms like LinkedIn."
"Technical support has been declining. They aren't as responsive as they used to be."
"The integration could be made a little simpler in terms of design and implementation."
"I think that the cost is a big area of concern, considering what users get out of the tool."
"The classic interface needs improvement"
"SAP S4HANA is not suitable for all-size companies. If you have a small company there are better fit solutions for your needs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the product price as a three."
"Price-wise, ERPNext is a cheap product. There are no licensing costs attached to ERPNext since it is an open-source product. You have to pay for the solution's hosting and implementation process."
"This is not the cheapest solution on the market, so you need to invest seriously in it. As a solid product, it has a solid price. It's definitely one of the more expensive tools on the market, but it's also one of the best products on the market."
"The tool's price can be reasonable for large organizations, but it might not be suitable for small organizations with a small number of users."
"The price could be lower."
"The implementation costs of SAP is substantial."
"We're not sure yet. I think it was six figures a year, over 100,000. It has straight-up licensing fees."
"Depending on the solution there can be a different way of doing the license. Most of the licenses are annual, but there are some models where it is that offer pay-as-you-go. Additionally, there are some solutions that offer monthly per user."
"SAP S4HANA is expensive and for smaller businesses, it is very difficult for them to have the budget."
"SAP is a costly product in terms of maintenance for an organization who has reached a particular level."
