Cloud-based protection has simplified daily client support and keeps threats under control
The problems that we are facing with policy adoption include slow adoption, as it takes more than five minutes to adopt policy on client computers. ESET Network Attack Protection sometimes helps in reducing network-level intrusions, but sometimes it prevents local devices on the network, which are well-known and good devices, from being recognized, treating them as a threat. So it requires more administration than usual. ESET could implement a good solution for remote support in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for improvement in the future. Since you have the cloud console, ESET could have something similar to AnyDesk or TeamViewer, but from ESET.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For organizations with budget constraints that need a reliable solution, ESET Endpoint Protection Platform is an excellent choice."
"I like the integration; it lets you see the product installed on a particular computer."
"We have pretty good detection, at least I feel that we don't have any major infections — we love it."
"Overall, I like this product and I am satisfied with what it does."
"I really like the solution and how it works."
"The most valuable feature in ESET Endpoint Security is the game mode to restrict notifications."
"This is a product at the top of its game. That is the reason we choose to support and sell it."
"The product does not slow down the machine."
"Endpoint to network protects the line."
"They have a very simple and easy implementation; they have been around for a long time, and they have been very easy to deploy, support, and manage."
"Technical support is very responsive. You just have to open a ticket. They respond in a timely manner. Their response is good. I'm satisfied."
"You don't have to buy a separate email security platform. You can enable that using their endpoint, and I like that. You don't have to have two agents running on the same box."
"All of the solution's features are quite valuable for us. We especially like the threat protection it provides."
"It has certainly helped out our audit efforts because we each stay compliant in terms of various security standards."
"They manage to solve detection quite nicely. There is some rather elaborate detection compared to other providers."
"What I like most about Symantec Advanced Threat Protection is its notification capability."

Cons

"They could improve the solution by adding better ransomware features."
"The user interface of ESET Endpoint Security could be more user-friendly and more features could be added."
"When users renew licenses, they should offer a discount."
"After we did the initial setup of ESET Endpoint Security, we had to inform users about popups."
"We have experienced some problems with the actualization of some endpoints. We then have to manually reinstall the version on these endpoints."
"The speed of response of technical support could be faster."
"I would like them to use AI features to do preventative virus protection."
"The migration between on-prem and cloud has room for improvement."
"Solutions like CrowdStrike, ESET, and SentinelOne have really jumped ahead on behavioral and algorithm-based detection capabilities. Symantec is trying to catch up, but they still have some limitations of being an old-school AV protection program and adding AI and behavioral learning and detection algorithm."
"An improvement could be made on the reporting because then it would be easier to collect information and submit it for compliance."
"One area for improvement could be the pricing model."
"The administration interface needs a lot of improvement. It should be UI-based and simple."
"Symantec appliances need improvement. The whole appliance environment is a robust system and it needs a massive amount of storage space. If you have to increase or speed up the background storage it's a pretty complicated process. The scalability and sizing is critical, and if you do it wrong you run into issues pretty quickly."
"There are some features that would add value to this product. One of them would be a graphical presentation of threats that the system has encountered."
"Entire threat protection is not available for the advanced features."
"The endpoint protection looks old."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is okay and I don't have any issues with it."
"ESET is perfect, if you can afford it."
"The pricing can be a bit more flexible."
"I do a two or three-year license for less than $100."
"It is subjective. I don't think it is expensive. If you can have 10 user licenses for less than $100, I don't think it is expensive."
"It is not expensive; the pricing model is fine."
"The cost of the solution is hard to justify even if the EDR operates well."
"For 200 or so users, it might cost around $10,000 or so. That is for a first-time purchase. A renewal may come in at $7,000 to $8,000, or around 20% to 30% less. This is a rough estimate of what to expect."
"Symantec Endpoint Protection has an average price."
"The pricing of this solution is inexpensive and affordable."
"Pricing is good. It is nice to have a great product at a fair price."
"Symantec Advanced Threat Protection's pricing is comparable."
"The price is quite expensive."
