Cloud-based protection has simplified daily client support and keeps threats under control
The problems that we are facing with policy adoption include slow adoption, as it takes more than five minutes to adopt policy on client computers. ESET Network Attack Protection sometimes helps in reducing network-level intrusions, but sometimes it prevents local devices on the network, which are well-known and good devices, from being recognized, treating them as a threat. So it requires more administration than usual. ESET could implement a good solution for remote support in ESET Endpoint Protection Platform for improvement in the future. Since you have the cloud console, ESET could have something similar to AnyDesk or TeamViewer, but from ESET.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Technical support is very good and so far they have been very helpful and they resolved our problems in several hours."
"This is a product at the top of its game. That is the reason we choose to support and sell it."
"The maintenance is easy."
"Overall, I like this product and I am satisfied with what it does."
"It rarely gets in the way, and we don't even notice it scanning."
"It is absolutely invisible once running."
"All of our devices are integrated with the solution."
"The features seem to be alright."
"You don't have to buy a separate email security platform. You can enable that using their endpoint, and I like that. You don't have to have two agents running on the same box."
"The product integrates well with our systems, and we have not encountered any problems."
"The incident management on the solution is very good. You get a lot of detailed information about an incident. You also get a lot of documentation in connection with the CVI or integration."
"The Application Control code and the easy integration are valuable features."
"The most valuable feature is Click-time URL protection."
"Technical support has been helpful and responsive."
"They manage to solve detection quite nicely, with rather elaborate detection compared to other providers, and Symantec also provides a useful set of information linked to each of the attacked computers."
"Currently we have 800-plus nodes connected with this solution, without any issues. The solution is scalable."

Cons

"The user interface of ESET Endpoint Security could be more user-friendly and more features could be added."
"The stability needs to be improved. There are bugs that you have to deal with."
"I've had a few other instances where the program stops running, and then you have to restore and reset it."
"After that three-month trial period was extended, but unfortunately, the company was not convinced by the product, and the managers decided to use another solution called SentinelOne."
"ESET Endpoint Security could improve EDR integration."
"The interface is good. However, it could always be better. It could be more user-friendly."
"It would be useful if they could automate the deployment more."
"The initial setup of ESET Endpoint Security can be complicated when you get involved with encryption."
"The support has dropped down to a five out of ten."
"The support for new OSs and older OSs could be a little tighter. They need to be more upfront about what protection services they're going to provide on new OSs. I haven't seen the Windows 11 version out yet. It is either already released in Beta, or the Beta will be released soon. There could be a little bit more advanced updates on what they're doing to help protect Windows 11 environments. They can let us know in advance so that we know it is going to be protected. We can't roll out the new OS without putting end-point protection on it. So, they should tell us what is their support model for that, and what are they doing to protect Windows 11. They're not telling me, and that's a criticism. The same issue is applicable to all the other antivirus tools. It is not just Symantec; all of them have this problem."
"The security features need to be improved."
"Scalability could be better."
"The product's support services need improvement."
"The endpoint protection looks old."
"One area for improvement could be the pricing model."
"They could enhance the solution to work across all devices, including Android, iOS, and Mac, and make it more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I think it's available for a pretty fair price. If you know how to use it, then it's a very fair price for what you get."
"At first, we thought it was a bit expensive, but we negotiated a better price."
"There is a license required to use ESET Endpoint Security."
"It is not expensive, but it is also not inexpensive."
"Currently, we are running on a three-year license. The pricing might be around $20,000. There aren't any costs above the standard licensing fee."
"Pricing per month, for security services as apps in CEE pricing: up to €2 monthly is OK."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Antivirus could be lower. From a customer's perspective, it is expensive."
"As is the general rule with anything, the solution could be cheaper."
"The price is quite expensive."
"Symantec Advanced Threat Protection's pricing is comparable."
"Pricing is good. It is nice to have a great product at a fair price."
"The pricing of this solution is inexpensive and affordable."
"Symantec Endpoint Protection has an average price."
