A stable solution with an intuitive interface and quick customer service
I have been working with Fortinet FortiGate, WatchGuard, Sophos, and SonicWall. I'm not as comfortable with SonicWall because of their UI and limitations. I prefer Fortinet above all other options. When it comes to configuration, I am confident in my ability to handle various tasks, including creating policies such as firewall rules, web policies, and application policies. Additionally, I can configure VPNs and implement load balancing, among other tasks. Overall, I feel much more comfortable working with Fortinet. Fortinet has made significant improvements by integrating AI with firewalls for threat analysis and prevention. In the past 2-3 years, they have launched FortiSASE and SIEM, and they also provide SOC services. Both Palo Alto and Fortinet FortiGate are excellent. While Fortinet FortiGate comes at higher prices, the functionality and support justify the cost. They promptly resolve firmware issues and inform all support providers about configuration changes.

Beneficial technology, reliable, and simple deployment
Our client has a data center and all the applications servers and servers are in their data center. We design a solution, for all their branches. If they wanted to access the internet or the applications, they route traffic to their data center and then can access these applications with FatPipe…

User-friendly deployment optimizes network infrastructure for global carriers
VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN is recognized as an SD-WAN leader, offering user-friendly solutions that help end customers and enterprises solve network optimization issues efficiently. Its proprietary Dynamic Multipath Optimization (DMP) technology is regarded as the most powerful and valuable function by VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN. I see customer transformation to VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN networks showing a 30 to 40 percent increment per year.

"I find the application-aware routing feature to be the most valuable."
"The setup is very straightforward."
"One of the key use cases for VMware SD-WAN was assisting a customer in the industrial zone. We assisted in building the system by integrating VMware servers and utilizing the Cisco suite."
"I like VMware SD-WAN's automation and zero-touch provisioning. Its main advantage is simplicity. Anyone can use this gateway."
"VMware VeloCloud SD-WAN has truly transformed our environment, providing significantly more bandwidth at lower costs, which is essential for tasks like Teams calls."

Cons

"Fortinet FortiGate SWG should be localised to specific regions to comply with local data privacy regulations because of the data privacy rules in the countries. In the Middle East, data organisation and KFA requirements are stringent."
"The solution needs to integrate VPN features."
"The product’s price is high."
"The command line is complicated, and the interface could be better."
"The AI with Fortinet FortiGate is not very well integrated on their devices, and their cloud infrastructure is not as good as Cisco's."
"Fortinet Fortigate could benefit by simplifying some of their processes."
"I would like to see improvements in the IPS/IDS feature to enhance protection against attacks from attackers, including ransomware protection."

"FatPipe SD-WAN can improve the price to scale the solution."
"In an upcoming release, the solution can be more functional and have additional features."
"There is room for improvement in the pricing."
"VMware SD-WAN can improve on the security features."
"The prep time and understanding what you want to do and how much bandwidth you'll need and how you're going to configure it on the network, that's more of an issue than anything else."
"VMware SD-WAN could be improved with more automation and more integration, but each vendor could use these improvements."
"If you don't have an Internet connection, you can’t control it."
"The solution doesn't offer failover between their own devices. If I want to, I should be able to put the two devices at the side, so there can be a failover."
"The firewall can be more advanced."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is not a very costly product if you compare it with other products. The return on investment is also good. If you compare the return of investment and money that you are spending on this product with Palo Alto, Cisco, Check Point, and other solutions, the investment is very less. We are happy with this solution. The optional licenses are there, and you can choose which one you want and which one to avoid."
"There is no challenge in Fortinet FortiGate pricing."
"The price could be lower."
"It's an expensive solution"
"The cost has increased since the update so I would rate it eight out of ten."
"In terms of the market, it's not a cheap product, but it's cost-effective."
"The pricing is fair."
"It could be more competitive and cost-effective."
Information not available
"Overall pricing could be lower. It is much more expensive than traditional hardware vendor pricing."
"The price of VMware SD-WAN is less expensive than some solutions, such as Cisco."
"I would rate the product’s pricing a six out of ten since the license is costly."
"The pricing is very comparable to Fortinet."
"We pay about $500 USD, or 700,000 Korean won."
"We make monthly payments toward the licensing costs of the solution."
"Price would be a challenge for customers, because it is expensive."
"The price of this solution is higher than that of other SD-WAN vendors."
