No other product will give you the same visibility and data classification functions as this tool
Forcepoint enables you to clarify aspects of your data, including which data to protect for how long, what priority to assign to the data and the destinations. It's a comprehensive, dedicated solution. The interface is user-friendly and easy to manage. No other product will give you the same visibility and data classification functions as this tool. You install the agent to your endpoint, and the end user needs to label the data as confidential, private, internal, etc. After you label the document, you can confirm the confidentiality and go to the DLP to make a new policy to block the specified destination addresses at the Forcepoint level, such as network, email, RDP, etc. Forcepoint uses machine learning and AI file or database fingerprinting. This can give you an early chance to prevent incidents fast. File fingerprinting gives you 100 percent accurate DLP results.

Offers automation alert features with easy integrations and impressive scalability
I would rate the initial setup an eight out of ten. There are a few technical challenges with the deployment, but it can easily solved by an experienced professional but not by a beginner user of the tool. The complete implementation and migration to McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator will take around three months. If someone is using a software platform already with implemented use cases in their environment, it might be difficult to implement the same use cases when the customer is migrating to McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator. The conditions and prior alert settings needs to be accurate when migrating to McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, otherwise false positive alerts might get generated.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Scalability-wise, I rate this solution a nine out of ten."
"The workflow remediation is quite good. That is a key feature because of which it has the upper hand over other DLP solutions."
"The most valuable feature is security."
"The GUI is very intuitive. That is the way I would explain its ease of use. It is straightforward."
"The solution’s content classification is the best."
"We don't require a lot of downtime, but when we do then we are getting proper support with no issue."
"Regardless of the size of your company, this solution can be scaled accurately."
"The technical support for the solution is very good."
"The most valuable feature of the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is agent communication."
"McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator has a built-in advanced pattern, which is very useful because it can detect any pattern."
"The security is a key feature and the console is very user friendly."
"We implemented data transfer protection, which allows transfer in one direction only. Users can copy from the PC to the USB but not from the USB to the PC. That way, if someone is carrying a virus on a USB, it will not be transferred to the PC."
"The advantages of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator include being a centralized management console, which we possess when managing multiple solutions in Trellix DLP and EPP through the EPO solution."
"The valuable feature of the McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is the management of the policies."
"Their support is really good. I would rate it a nine out of ten. I have never any issues with their support. They always reply and follow our queries on time."
"McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator's performance is good."

Cons

"There's zero Forcepoint presence in West Africa. Customers typically like having these things close to them. It would help if they had a presence here. Right now, Forcepoint West Africa has been administered from South Africa. Because of this, customers can't access premium support in our region."
"An area for improvement for Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention is its price. It would be good if they could offer better pricing."
"With respect to the discovery component, the reports are very hard to interpret because they come out in an illogical format."
"We faced some issues with the endpoint installation of the agent as it is not from a common ground."
"The solution's interface is still not user-friendly for some customers. So, its interface can be better."
"When you automatically try to upgrade the agent it causes problems."
"Lacks the ability to control the USB port devices so that content coming out of the port is blocked."
"The user-friendliness of the interface in formulating DLP policies could be improved. An example would be managing policies. It's a little daunting at first, and can be confusing, at times, when it comes to how to set things up and how to add policies. They could improve on that."
"McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator could improve by supporting container microservices, such as Docker and Kubernetes."
"McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator should improve its integration with other tools."
"The installation process is quite difficult and requires technical support."
"The solution sometimes has some false positives on IP addresses, from the web control aspect of the product. This needs to be improved."
"It would be highly beneficial if the metrics or dashboards could be customized"
"Some drawbacks include difficulty in supporting improvements because we don't get proper response from Trellix support, so there is a need to improve the support."
"There is a problem when it comes to agent communication and duplicate records, where the rebooting of a machine leads to the installation of a new agent and you get a lot of duplicate records that ultimately affect your compliance monitoring."
"The solution is difficult to tune to avoid false positives."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention is costlier than other brands, but not all. Of the solutions, I have used Forcepoint Data Loss Prevention is more costly."
"The licensing is on an annual basis."
"There is an annual subscription model and the amount depends on the type of implementation."
"The licensing of Forcepoint is quite straightforward. It's based on the number of users. The support fees are a separate cost."
"The pricing is fine."
"I prefer Forceoint because it is cheaper than Symantec."
"The pricing and licensing fees could be improved."
"It's not the cheapest solution but it's not the most expensive. It's a good price for a good product."
"It's an expensive solution"
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"It is attractively priced. It is a fraction of what we're going to pay for CrowdStrike or SentinelOne, but it only has a fraction of the capabilities as well."
"For large enterprise companies, the price should be alright, but for small businesses, the uptake might be slow because, for these clients, the price doesn't look very attractive."
"McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is a cheaply priced product, meaning it is not expensive since McAfee provides a free version of ePO, which includes phone support as well."
"$The price of McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator is expensive, it is approximately $6,000 to $9,000 per license annually."
"This solution is priced in the mid-range."
"Compared to other Antivirus products, the cost of this solution is a bit high."
