Cost effective communication solution that has added value to our projects by facilitating automated and ad hoc customer communication
Reporting for this solution could be improved. For example, when you run A/B tests or MVT tests with multiple variants, then it is difficult to get a consolidated report. There are limitations on how to use the automation. The sending of messages could be more transactional as it is only possible to synchronize one per day.

Good for digital marketing purposes, such as creating and managing email campaigns
Mailchimp could be more user-friendly for setting up WordPress websites. Some of the complex settings can be time-consuming to configure. So, setting up Mailchimp for WordPress websites can be time-consuming for an average user but not necessarily difficult. It's time-consuming, especially when adding custom code to email campaigns. It requires some experience and knowledge to do it effectively.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We use this solution for user onboarding via email automation and to send out product update newsletters, and we also use it to send out maintenance messages or ad hoc communication focused on a specific topic."
"MailChimp has allowed us to easily integrate it with our CRM which has reduced the amount of effort needed to setup up and track any marketing newsletter."
"We managed to easily build and send modern, nice looking, relevant newsletters to hundreds of followers, analyze our projects and think of new and better ways to do it, because of the diversity that comes with it."
"Their technical support is excellent."
"It’s very easy, and you can start using it without being an expert in e-marketing."
"We have been happily using MailChimp for all our email marketing needs."
"The ease of use and price point enables us to scale our email initiatives efficiently as we grow."
"If it's for a small business sending out a monthly newsletter, it's a great solution."
"We do more outbound marketing as this method makes it so much easier to do."

Cons

"Reporting for this solution could be improved. For example, when you run A/B tests or MVT tests with multiple variants, then it is difficult to get a consolidated report."
"Customer Service: I really haven’t had to use customer service much but it is only by email which is unfortunate."
"Automated workflows do not have control for dynamic behavioral targeting in any way."
"A standalone system for private servers would be ideal."
"The solution should improve its reporting feature. There should be more transparency around API development. At the moment, the clients are pushing custom API into the mail, so we don't have too much visibility regarding what endpoints they're pushing the data into."
"Automation workflows have limited trigger options."
"It would be great to be able to create broader segments for campaigns."
"While it has many capabilities it could be more user-friendly."
"The WYSIWYG editor doesn't work in the email client that IBM uses, so I've had to completely code out the email."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This solution is more cost effective than MailChimp."
"I primarily use the free version, but sometimes, for specific client needs, we may have to purchase different versions or packages."
"MailChimp is affordable."
