We dropped the product because of the corruption issue.
Two main issues. 1) It can be a bandwidth resource hog over a small WAN link. We would routinely saturate a 3Mbps link with WAFS. This can be mitigated with tuning what gets replicated. 2) In some cases, it can look like the files get replicated because the files have the correct date, file size, etc. However, the file itself was actually all nulls. In our replication case, we had more than 10,000 files get corrupted this way (out of 1.2 million). GlobalScape support basically said that there were issues with W2K8 R2 but the problem actually dated back to 2008 on a W2K3 server. We dropped the product because of the corruption issue.

Has enabled secure, centralized file sharing while saving significant time and resources
The best features in GoAnywhere MFT are that it's fast, reliable, and secure. First, the improvement is that we have resolved one of our security points with compliance. So that compliance point we resolved. And also it's a centralized file sharing system. All the users are able to access the file. There is no one-to-one sharing. It's improved about 80 to 85%. It saves about 80 to 90% resources. In terms of time, we can say 90 to 95% time is also saved because it avoids the one-to-one sharing and simply a user can put one centralized directory and all the users are able to access this solution and access the file. So it's 95%.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"When it works, WAFS is a good way to keep data synchronized between multiple servers in multiple locations."
"The module of GoAnywhere MFT that was given to us was very simple and easy to learn."
"GoAnywhere MFT is valued most for automation plus security plus visibility and enterprise file movement rather than just basic file transfer."
"GoAnywhere MFT is a great file-specific, file transfer-specific, and encryption-specific solution."
"What I appreciate most about GoAnywhere MFT is the threat protection feature, whereby before transferring files anywhere, I am able to first make the file analysis and confirm there are no threats or malware in the files."
"GoAnywhere MFT is stable, and I have not seen any lags in the product."
"I like the organization of resources, specifically listing out all of our FTPs and having a name and description to easily organize them. I also like the scheduler. The organization and the scheduling, being able to create the folders and the jobs, have been really helpful."
"If I have a job that I need to run on the system and I want the data transferred, I can use GoAnywhere and schedule it on a daily basis, a weekly basis, or whatever, and it does the job for me to transfer the files over to the other systems, or back and forth."
"Out of all the products I have used for file transfer MFT, GoAnywhere MFT is the easiest because everything is essentially in one place."

Cons

"In some cases, it can look like the files get replicated because the files have the correct date, file size, etc. However, the file itself was actually all nulls."
"Everything works fine, but I feel that the user interface can be improved, especially the layout. They can make the dashboards more customizable."
"I want to be able to use GoAnywhere to create customizable reports that I can share with the MSP containing any information related to file transfers."
"I experience occasional downtime and some glitches."
"We can improve GoAnywhere MFT's API documentation and automation logs, which will make it more user-friendly and help people comprehend it much more effectively, reducing friction."
"One of the most important things that needs to be improved is the customer support. It is slow, irresponsive, and inconsistent."
"Their technical support receives a rating of four out of ten from me."
"GoAnywhere MFT could be improved in that the UI could be more modern and some advanced workflow configurations and troubleshooting steps could be made easier for administrators."
"The technical support response time has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It would be good for the company to explore a modular approach to selling the product so it could be cheaper and more attractive to users."
"It is moderately priced. If I compare it with other products that we have been using, its price is moderate. There are approximately 30% to 40% savings."
"When it comes to secure systems that we have used, the price point can get a whole lot higher. You might end up saving in the short term with other solutions, but are you getting a secure product? Do you feel confident in that? Will you be able to get any support afterward? From my experience, based on the price point and the service that we got, it was a good value for our money."
"It has flexible and affordable pricing because of custom quotes. The prices depend on the modules one needs and the volume of data being transferred. Overall, they offer custom and flexible pricing with an annual subscription, where you pay for specific features and functionality required."
"Its pricing is fair. It is not the most expensive, and it is not the cheapest. For what we get in our environment, the pricing model works pretty well."
"Compared to other tools it's less expensive."
"Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT pricing is competitive."
"The product's pricing is reasonable."
