Effective patch management boosts network security and enhances compliance reporting
The product is currently on-premise, and I think the cloud option is still yet to come. If a customer has their own cloud, we can host it there, but the SaaS model is not available, and most companies are requesting the SaaS model for patch management. GFI LanGuard is a good competitor in the market and is popular in my region. We get many leads and numerous requirements for patch management, but most companies ask for the SaaS model, which creates challenges. Third-party app integration needs to be increased in GFI LanGuard. It shouldn't be limited to 30 or 40 applications because there are many applications being used. Instead of manually patching everything, if those patches are included in the product, it would be easier for automatic patching.

Centralized patch automation has improved compliance and keeps hybrid cloud servers always updated
One area where I think Qualys Patch Management can improve is reporting and dashboard customization. As patching and vulnerability remediation are regular operational activities, having more flexible reporting options and granular insights would help operations teams track patch compliance, remediation status, failed deployments, and outstanding vulnerabilities more effectively. In larger environments, it would also be useful to have more customizable dashboards tailored to different teams such as operations, security, and management. This would make it easier to view the most relevant information without creating multiple reports. Another improvement could be enhanced troubleshooting information for failed patch deployments or agent communication issues. During large-scale patching activities, having more detailed error reporting would help teams identify and resolve issues faster. Overall, my experience with Qualys Patch Management has been positive. It provides good visibility into vulnerabilities and patch compliance, and with some additional reporting and dashboard enhancements, it would be even more useful for day-to-day operational teams.
