Modern infrastructure has supported critical business services and delivers strong data protection
To be honest, I did not make any changes in Nimble, and the same applies to StoreOnce. The system is built and ready-made. It was already built before we received it, but overall, everything is clear and direct, and there is nothing complex, so I do not need to do a deep dive in the system to resolve or change anything. I do not use HPE Nimble Storage HPE Alletra dHCI intelligent automation. I do not use intelligent data services in managing my data infrastructure. I have not actually used additional functionality for Nimble Storage HPE Alletra dHCI right now, but I think this feature is very useful, especially AI. AI is involved in any software now, and I do not use it in my system, but I think it's very useful.

Infrastructure management simplifies for clients with integrated interface and enhanced resource utilization
Currently, the HPE HCI is based on the VMware solution, and most clients are skipping VMware because VMware has changed its licensing method. If HPE starts to use its own hypervisor for its HCI solutions, it will be the best solution. We push a different vendor for the backup and replication, so we only use the HCI, then we use Veeam for the backup and replication section.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"So far, the solution's performance is very good."
"Hyperconverged offers good performance; it's more effective, and it's giving us more performance, like an all-in-one solution, instead of going with different components."
"The product has cut down a lot of service tickets. Earlier, people complained about slowness."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI's user interface is very easy to work with."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI has the most valuable features for performance, resilience, and scalability."
"It is easier to manage compared to the other vendors."
"We previously used an EMC server for storage, but we found that implementation was easier with Nimble DHCI."
"Looking at the performance and the support system that we have with HPE Nimble, it's really good."
"The features of HPE Hyper Converged that are most effective and beneficial are its simplicity as well as its scalability."
"I've found the data protection features the most valuable."
"There are multiple advantages. Typically, being an all-flash storage, which is available through either SimpliVity or dHCI, the performance is much better because the IOPS goes high, so it's more powerful in terms of performance. Secondly, if I'm talking of SimpliVity Hyper Convergence solution from HPE, unlike the competition, even if three hard drives fail, you are still running the solution."
"The solution has many good features."
"The solution has many good features."
"The HA, which means I have a copy of the VMs always available, and the moment a VM is down, the system tries to power it on again."
"The features of HPE Hyper Converged that are most effective and beneficial are its simplicity as well as its scalability."
"The most valuable features are resiliency and data protection."

Cons

"Lacking integration to the cloud."
"The implementation process was problematic due to firmware incompatibilities and lengthy support intervention."
"Nimble Storage's integration with the management software could be better."
"I can tier my data in different storage on the cloud, but I cannot tier the data with HPE Alletra dHCI."
"They should improve just the support."
"The initial setup is a little bit complicated."
"The performance of HPE Nimble Storage dHCI could improve. Other solutions, such as Cisco, are better."
"Their documentation needs to be simpler to read yet more detailed so it's easy to compare models and easier for clients to pick."
"I would like to see more flexibility in the offered configurations. For instance a software-only version of the solution, without the hardware, would be nice."
"Scalability is an issue because it becomes very expensive. When you need to upgrade memory, you have to upgrade memory across the nodes. Suppose a customer has gone with a three-node HCI solution, then to increase the memory, you have to do it across the three nodes."
"The solution needs to add a module or plugin of vCenter for clear monitoring and insights."
"Some improvement is required in the availability of the data and performance. The solution is too expensive for our customers."
"Scalability requires using additional nodes."
"The storage efficiency is weak and needs to be improved."
"This solution is very costly."
"The solution can be improved on the management side."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product licensing costs vary depending on whether VMware or other solutions are used."
"I would rate the licensing model a three out of ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is cheap."
"The product is costly."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI is much cheaper than the competition and has value proposition. Customers can see an ROI in three months. There are no additional costs, and VMware licenses can be reutilized."
"With the features that HPE Nimble Storage dHCI provides, I cannot say its pricing is more."
"I think it's priced right and it's extremely intelligent."
"The solution’s pricing was very good."
"The cost of the licensing is reasonable."
"It could be cheaper, everything could be cheaper."
"There are costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"Pricing with Dell EMC is double the price which I paid for HPE. However, in the end, Dell EMC is double in performance. This is not an apple to apple comparison though, as I have a four node from Dell EMC and a three node."
"The price per value compared to other solutions, like Nutanix and SimpliVity. (We made the deal before approval of HPE SimpliVity deal)."
"The solutions cost us a lot."
"It is a cost-effective solution."
"It is an expensive solution, however. If they could adjust the pricing, that would be helpful."
"If I'm comparing with Dell, HPE Hyper Converged is definitely cheaper in my experience."
