Modern infrastructure has supported critical business services and delivers strong data protection
To be honest, I did not make any changes in Nimble, and the same applies to StoreOnce. The system is built and ready-made. It was already built before we received it, but overall, everything is clear and direct, and there is nothing complex, so I do not need to do a deep dive in the system to resolve or change anything. I do not use HPE Nimble Storage HPE Alletra dHCI intelligent automation. I do not use intelligent data services in managing my data infrastructure. I have not actually used additional functionality for Nimble Storage HPE Alletra dHCI right now, but I think this feature is very useful, especially AI. AI is involved in any software now, and I do not use it in my system, but I think it's very useful.

Sync to Central and edge protection mitigate my risk in our branch offices
The level of tech support depends on who you get. There are some techs that just read the script and ask you if you’ve rebooted, but once you get past that - or if you have a very technical issue - the support is great. They really know the product and get you up and running again ASAP.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"HPE's InfoSight software, which does the comparative analysis and artificial intelligence built-in in the box, and with Nimble they do well against the competition. Additionally, the dashboards are good."
"The integration of AI tools for predictive analysis sets it apart from competitors."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI has the most valuable features for performance, resilience, and scalability."
"We have the ability to increase the storage without any additional costs."
"So far, the solution's performance is very good."
"The nice thing about it is that it truly integrates with the cloud, so I can move my volumes bi-directionally in and out of the cloud."
"HPE Nimble Storage dHCI is highly stable because they're using Nimble as the storage."
"When you require high growth on dHCI or hyper-converged, the HPE Nimble Storage dHCI is the right solution."
"Sync to Central and edge protection mitigate my risk in our branch offices. All services that need to be local to the user exist on local servers. Users run applications and access data locally while the data is constantly being synced to Central, and protected. If an edge device fails, we can recover quickly."
"That is why Riverbed SteelFusion has delivered a masterclass technology that not only abstracted and virtualized the storage vendors’ unique logical storage structures, it has made it logically closer and seamless to the branch applications from a performance and experience perspective."

Cons

"Definitely from a price perspective it's quite expensive, but looking at the performance and the support system that we have with HPE Nimble, it's really good."
"The implementation process was problematic due to firmware incompatibilities and lengthy support intervention."
"In a future release, I would like to add something similar to support or the capability to predict any kind of failure based on the software with the cloud, or management support from the wholesale."
"The user interface is not as good or easy as the competition, for example, Nutanix."
"The initial setup is a little bit complicated."
"The solution could improve by providing better file-level restoration and DVX system options."
"I would rate technical support from HPE as two out of ten."
"They could expand product support to Microsoft Hyper-V and Red Hat Linux platforms."
"Setting up disks for use is a multi-step process that could use some refinement. Setting up a core-to-core replication or DR strategy is also cumbersome."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I would rate the licensing model a three out of ten, where one is extremely expensive, and ten is cheap."
"The product is costly."
"With the features that HPE Nimble Storage dHCI provides, I cannot say its pricing is more."
"The customers have found the solution to be expensive. However, when compared to the competition the price is reasonable."
"The solution’s pricing was very good."
"The product licensing costs vary depending on whether VMware or other solutions are used."
"I think it's priced right and it's extremely intelligent."
"The product is very affordable."
"Price is an issue – this is expensive stuff. My advice is to beat up Riverbed as much as possible on price. These things are expensive and there is room for negotiation."
