Cost-effective and good for small workloads while addressing update-driven challenges is needed
I use Azure Monitor and other monitoring solutions to support clients in Accenture's managed services. We support multiple environments, primarily on cloud platforms like Azure and AWS, and also on-premises environments with operating systems like Windows, Linux, and Solaris, among others…

Significant backup for containers, but the customer service is terrible
Anyone considering this solution should not compare it to the old versions. They should be a partner with Virtuozzo and run all the certifications. Also, they need a good lab to understand the technology and how they can apply that technology conveniently. This is very commercial software. It does not have support, so you will need to be hands-on. I would rate Odin Virtuozzo a six out of 10 overall.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"For me, the setup of Hyper-V was an easy process, which took only one hour from start to finish."
"The virtualized applications and real time audition of the VMA is quite a good feature."
"We can perform maintenance on equipment during the day because we can live migrate all of the machines from one server to another."
"I have found the GUI user-friendly and having the solution be a Windows application makes it familiar to users."
"It is a very stable product. We have not had any issues with Hyper-V crashing itself."
"It allows for quick deployment of servers and workloads."
"My understanding is it's easy to set up."
"There are two very good things about this product including licensing and stability."
"When you run templates on the containers on Virtuozzo they have a lot of back-ups."

Cons

"There is a problem with high-availability if the load is too high."
"The backup site could be better. We used to face a lot of issues, and we are looking to solve that now. We are in the process of moving all the infrastructure to the cloud. It could also use more integration on the management part. We also need more integration on the monitoring sites."
"The operating system is very, very heavy."
"In terms of performance, when compared to VMware, it is much slower."
"They could work on lowering the cost of the solution."
"The solution is lacking in numerous features and lacks flexibility."
"If I want to create a cluster of around five to 10 physical servers Hyper-V does not get integrated with any kind of virtual sense, such as vSense."
"Some of the interfaces need improvements, like the virtual switch or virtual VLAN interfaces."
"Odin Virtuozzo has poor support and needs to improve."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This is a fairly expensive product because it balances the needs of security."
"The pricing and licensing is fine."
"The solution is not expensive, and the subscription is annual."
"We did not have to pay extra money for the Failover Clustering feature."
"I do not have any comments about pricing or licensing of the product."
"Hyper-V's price is essentially zero because it's a feature of the operating system that I can enable and disable at will."
"We rent our licenses for this solution, which means that we also have access to premium-level support. The rental cost is payable annually and includes a number of products that work with this solution. It also allows us to run unlimited virtual machines without needing a license for each one."
"The price is quite fair. It is not too expensive."
"The license for Odin Virtuozzo is based on consumption on demand."

I was won with Hyper-V 2012R2 recently and the table below based on customer RFP (edited). This articles all about technical, there is not related with TCO/ROI, licensing cost, “political”, etc. Another to noted is the Windows Server 2012 licenses is based on 2 socket CPU, meanwhile…
