Integrated planning has improved production scheduling and now reduces downtime and costs
The biggest friction point I have run into with IFS Cloud Platform is user adoption, which has been the biggest challenge, as different users in the organization need to get accustomed to the new processes after years of using spreadsheets and legacy systems, requiring training and a mindset shift, along with challenging data migration and process standardization. My advice to someone considering IFS Cloud Platform with a similar workflow is to spend sufficient time understanding and standardizing their business processes before implementing it, as the technology is very powerful, but the real value comes when processes, data, and teams are all aligned. I would rate my overall experience with IFS Cloud Platform as a 9 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"One of our favorite features is the "Info-Zone", which provides operational intelligence in flight and in context to guide both business users and support teams to productivity."
"There are fewer fields on the user screen compared to other products. This makes the UI a little bit easier to understand."
"All the modules are valuable in their own right, but everything has to go through the ERP. IFS has done an excellent job integrating the various modules to complete these processes. My expertise is in the finance module, but I have used the other verticals. It's an all-around good product."
"The most valuable features of IFS Applications are their intuitiveness and ease of use. The navigations are also straightforward, which makes it easy to train users. The feedback I always receive is that it is very user-friendly."
"Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine or ten out of ten since it is an extremely scalable solution that can be used for various use cases with thousands of users."
"The platform is reliable and stable."
"Apart from the pressures of meeting 14 go-live dates, this has been a very positive experience and has led to a streamlined and effective business."
"IFS Applications is based on industry standards that are using a multi-tier deployment model, making it much easier to integrate IFS Applications with other enterprise software packages, while its modern, easy-to-learn user interface offers many features for filtering, searching, and navigating."
"The interface is easy to use and has many features, such as email marketing and ad management, live chat, and more."
"It's easy to configure and easy to create a data source or replicate it to another one."
"It is a fast and reliable solution."

Cons

"The biggest friction point I have run into with IFS Cloud Platform is user adoption, which has been the biggest challenge, as different users in the organization need to get accustomed to the new processes after years of using spreadsheets and legacy systems, requiring training and a mindset shift, along with challenging data migration and process standardization."
"Ability to place approval check-points in the custom workflow, so clients can decide what they want it."
"Aspects of HR and payroll could be better."
"The pricing could be a bit better. It's a little high."
"There are certain digital features that need to be incorporated, such as IOP."
"The product requires heavy administrative work."
"The customer service is not good as expected but we can say its fair."
"An area for improvement would be transactions, which can be tedious to complete as the process is very complex."
"Nimble sometimes slows down the progress of any work or project we have pending as it lacks the customization to manage the task through the work dashboard."
"The product has a security flaw."
"The solution should improve its replication groups' verification confirmation."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
"Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
"We pay for a license to use the solution, which is not very expensive."
"The additional cost that comes with the solution includes the overhead of the people who are trying to fix the tool issues. These people are trying to reproduce the issue and report it to the technical support and testing with them which is huge. It is the cost of quality in the end."
"Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
"It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
"Compared to SAP, the pricing for IFS Applications was very affordable. People using the solution would find that it's worth the money."
"There's an additional yearly cost for support."
"The solution is cost-effective."
"The pricing is moderate."
