Has supported project management and business customization through strong modular flexibility
The cloud feature in IFS Cloud Platform is predominantly valuable, especially the enterprise asset management module, which IFS has very good business into, along with strong finance, project management, and supply chain management modules; these are the major modules that are performing well with IFS, and the cloud options along with user-friendly customizations for any technical developments are additional advantages. The integration of IoT with IFS Cloud Platform is performing well, enabling us to integrate with predominantly any third party through the standard inbuilt connectors that are readily available, and if we need to customize the integration, we can certainly do that too.

I like the assignment management and contact management features. I would like them to extend the possibility for functional segregation.
Extending the possibility for functional segregation would allow us to decentralize certain functions between different areas. In our organization, the administration of users (or executives who access the system) is done by an area. The management of executive skills is performed by another area, according to the current Siebel. These roles should not be independent.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like the connectivity and interfaces. In V10, it's easy to modify the interfaces and layouts, but it's becoming more complicated in the cloud. IFS is excellent at asset maintenance and incident management. They have specialized modules for IFS that cover incident and asset management and everything else connected to finance. The reporting in IFS is also easy to use."
"Field Service Management is definitely a wonderful product that IFS has developed because it caters to field services."
"The solution is very good."
"The most valuable features of IFS Applications are their intuitiveness and ease of use. The navigations are also straightforward, which makes it easy to train users. The feedback I always receive is that it is very user-friendly."
"All the modules are valuable in their own right, but everything has to go through the ERP. IFS has done an excellent job integrating the various modules to complete these processes. My expertise is in the finance module, but I have used the other verticals. It's an all-around good product."
"The main reason for the ERP project was to bring together our fourteen sites, which had until then worked in separate silos."
"Some of the strengths are Enterprise Management Solutions and the series of Management solutions which is number one in Gartner's report and has been for the last five years."
"The enterprise management solutions within the solution are very strong."
"It provides end to end customer management, from marketing all the way to support, meaning you also have sales, product management, literature, asset management, opportunity analysis, maintenance SLA compliance, and support, with all the common features present on modern CRMs including phone sync and email merge capabilities."
"Being a single source of information, this provides an authoritative source of information."
"Data migration, data deduplication, and application flexibility with respect to business rules are valuable features."
"I found that this product had the ability to meet our business needs."
"With the implementation of the assignment manager, we are now able to automate assignment rules that we previously had in hard, and this feature allows us greater flexibility when incorporating new assignment rules."
"As far as CRM's go, it's a very flexible solution, and we're able to customize the business rules with code and to integrate it with middleware applications to manage the rules externally."

Cons

"Technical support could be improved."
"We have had an issue that we don't get proper after-sale service when we get technical glitches."
"Aspects of HR and payroll could be better."
"An area for improvement would be transactions, which can be tedious to complete as the process is very complex."
"The solution's reporting tools still require improvement."
"There are certain digital features that need to be incorporated, such as IOP."
"The solution needs to improve its documentation and user-friendliness."
"Customization can only be done by IFS and not by the clients themselves."
"Pricing is very high."
"It is a very expensive product and data steward module is very complex."
"The initial setup was complex. The degree of parameterization required for the initial setup was not made obvious."
"Business rules for data duplication can be improved."
"Deployment is still considered cumbersome and the integrations are quite an expense."
"There were issues, mostly due to the lack of capability of the implementation partner who delivered the solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
"I consider it to be a well-priced solution compared to other mid-range or high-end ERP solutions."
"The additional cost that comes with the solution includes the overhead of the people who are trying to fix the tool issues. These people are trying to reproduce the issue and report it to the technical support and testing with them which is huge. It is the cost of quality in the end."
"Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
"Compared to SAP, the pricing for IFS Applications was very affordable. People using the solution would find that it's worth the money."
"It is better to buy implementation services from IFS than from partners"
"There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
"The product is reasonably priced."
